As the late Foltest once said: "This I like!" :ok: I'm a sucker for town/base gameplay mechanics. Granted, AC3's homestead wasn't the most fully featured and engaging take on this mechanic but I still enjoyed it for what it was. I hope ACV improves on it.

Music to my ears! No select audience bullshit, no "pay to see a demo"! I hope this will kill all those events such as E3 and bring equality to videogame fans! We're all the same and worth the same, so we deserve the same!

And demos! We'll get demos! This is such great news!

That sounds great :ok: However, since the availability of the playable demos is probably going to depend fully on each developer, I wouldn't expect every game shown in the fest to have one. E.g. if the WB people reveal their new Batman game, I'd expect nothing more than screenshots, a trailer and maybe a pre-alpha gameplay video.

Of course, as it has always been. But something is better than nothing. :)

I have to say, the AC Valhalla trailer is one of the best trailers I've ever seen. I especially love how each character's combat style is telling a story about who they are. And the music is excellent. Well-balanced, well-paced, well executed. Fantastic work on the skin textures. Just beautiful.

Now...let's hope the game lives up to the trailer.

So, apparently, my source says that we'll get a first gameplay showcase tomorrow AND the SX version on the 7th.

If true, I’ll assume either of those is something similar to this Witcher 3’s 2015 video. Or your source means a full-on, longer gameplay video?

I was just told we would see gameplay today 1 week ago, the day before the inside Xbox was announced. Now, if Ubisoft changed their plans in the meantime, that I don't know. It'd be weird from ubi to give wrong info to journalists but you never know...

Meh. They're probably behind schedule. Crisis and all.

Or...journalists reporting on misinformation again. (I say, "We're planning to release gameplay footage in early may." Journalist A reports, "They're releasing gameplay footage in early May." Now, all of a sudden, it's an absolute. Journalist B says, "Gameplay footage should be released by May 5th." Now we have a date, I guess. Journalists C onwards start quoting Journalists A and B instead of quoting the source. Misinformation flourishes.)

It's not a public info, he told me that privately since I know the guy. He told me about the gameplay trailer 1 day earlier (as you can see from my posts) and on that occasion, he told me about today's gameplay which was an official info directly from ubisoft.

EDIT: nope, everything has been officially moved to thursday.

I've heard it's mainly indie and AA except for Valhalla, of which we'll see a mere gameplay trailer and not a proper showcase.

Hope it's more than this. At least everything should be in next gen graphics.

I finished Doom Eternal. Absolutely fun and brutally satisfying gameplay. The only title with Bethesta's name on it that can still be recommended. The dynamic music is super awesome too I wonder if CP2077 will have any dynamic sound i.e the music reacts to what the player does in the game rather than being a set static. But from what I've heard it's still really nice. If you listen closely of the ambient when you look at the deep dive video and the part where fem V enters the cyberspace. I presume they got a lot of cool ambient like that!

Since this is the General videogame thread:

I just saw a flurry of rumors that EA is finally making a HD remaster of Mass Effect, released sometime this fiscal year. The company has not confirmed it though. That would be very welcome, and not entirely a surprise. EA needs a big win for Bioware after the last couple of disasters, and this is one for which there has been massive demand.

Mass effect 1 - 2 with revamped visuals and maybe some added features would definitely revitalize some faith in Bioware. EA did get a good smack in the face when they released the single player star wars which they thought would fail cause they thought single player games were dead.

I still haven't played more than 10 minutes of Mass Effect ! though I've had both that and 2 for well over two years now. :ROFLMAO:

The first one is clunky but the 2nd is one of the best RPGs made. Meaningful characters that you can invest and relate to, some choices and the most nerve wrecking final mission. Great visuals and absolutely great voice acting. If you never played it then you should give the 2nd one a go!

I'm not going to play 2 without playing through 1 first.
Also, I don't even have Origin installed so I'd have to install both that and 2, whereas 1 I have on Steam just one install away.

I don't like playing sequels before the first game. Same with Portal, Trine, Dishonored, even Fallout... and the Witcher games I also played in order.
