The General Videogame Thread

Wonder if this will scratch the Mass Effect itch...
To be honest, if there is one thing to really worry about, it's the gameplay itself because it will be their first game in "3D action shooter". For the rest, I have no doubt. The game will be amazing, I'm sure. Owlcat know what they're doing, they know how to make great RPGs, stories and characters.

I'm not worried about it, yet. The graphics and movement looked good and smooth in the alpha video release, and we already know that Owlcat makes fun stories. The only thing that I am a little worried about is bugs, because we also know that Owlcat releases great games that are buggy messes for the first couple of weeks. This one could have more bugs than usual.

Yes, true! Owlcat games are quite buggy at release for sure. But I'm not especially worried about that :)
First, I expect bugs, it's almost a certitude. I would be blaffed if there is only few at release (totally irrealistic to expect none^^). Then, I know Owlcat always did their best to fix them and support their games for years.

So no, bugs are not especially a concern for me :giggle:

I agree. I'm not worried in the long term because they always patch and support their games very well. But still I'm going to be a little frustrated on day one, when I download the game the second it's available, and an hour into it my gun starts firing backwards.

Trailer for the next Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 DLC "Mysteria Ecclesiae" coming November 11th.
2025's end is quite crazy... There are so many games releases that I really can't keep up :D

Just watched the announcement trailer of "project TAL" by a corean studio. Seems pretty good, but I think they copied a bit on Dragon Dogma 2. Which is not especially a bad thing if you ask me because DD2 was very good in my opinion :)

I'm replaying Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader a bit, after the big update a couple of days ago.

Coming back to the game, I was struck by the level of dystopia in that universe. Whoever came up with the term Grimdark did a good job. I think of the German word Grausam. It's a universe where there is no hope of restoring sanity to the universe, but only of slowing the descent into madness. It's both awesome and horrifying.

"In the far future, there is only war"
Not sure if you watched it, by Bricky made a pretty good video about W40K timeline and, by the emperor, his outro is so good :giggle:
(At the right time)
Do you get the last DLC - Lex Imperialis (I don't remember if you do or not^^).

That's a well done video. Thanks. Yes, I have all the DLC. I love my cyber-Rottweiler.

Good news for all games which will be released around spring 2026, like Crimson Desert :D

I won't say it's surprising, but Owlcat released the main theme of The Expanse - Osiris Reborn, and well... it's stunning
Released during N7 day... :D
This is interesting. Already having this ready to go, and releasing it on N7 day no less, makes me think they might surprise us with an earlier release of the game than we're expecting.

It would be awesome, but I really want them to take their time to release a masterpiece :)
I'm still quite amazed, their have amazing artists at Owlcat, music in their game always slaps and this main theme is no exception... A bit like CDPR in fact

Fatekeeper a first person RPG by THQNordic seems pretty interesting :)

Rush to the forum to talk about... DANG NAB IT!!! YOU BEAT ME TO IT. :) I love how the combat looks. The goblin's offside spin axe attack surprised me. May be the first game ever that I do not mod (or try to mod) the melee combat. The mech and the "flow" of the finisher looks like Doom however. May just be the monsters that make me see it.

Hell yeah, more about The Expanse Osiris Reborn at Golden Joystick!
That's excellent. If they're genuinely aiming for realism, I hope we see bullets and other projectiles in space travelling extremely fast with no downward gravitational pull and basically infinite travel distance.
