There was no official statement about any third EE.

No official fact sheet has been released regarding this, no official statement as well.

This not truth. I cannot post further details about this movie now, but soon we will comment officially.
So the moral of the story is that there's been no official statements to date ;D And that's fair enough. It can be hard to remember that, sometimes, especially when the REDs are as accessible to the community as they are. We don't have all the information to hand yet. As we all well know, being veteran Witchers as we are, ;D monsters live in the dark. As we can well see from this thread, the community are concocting all these scary stories about what's "going" to happen to the Witcher franchise, all of which are based on speculation and guesswork and little based on official statements (because there have been none!). At the moment, we are all in the dark about the future. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it just means hardly any of us work for CDPR

In fact, CDPR are the light bearers (or Cat bearers, if you will), the
only light bearers, so I think it makes sense to wait for their light before judging the situation.I'd caution anybody against letting this upset them too much at this stage when we simply don't know what's happening. It's perfectly understandable that some people might be upset by this console news. Anger and frustration are covering emotions, and are a result of a violation of the expectancy set. For good or ill, we all carry with us certain expectations, even if we are unaware we are carrying them; I expect swearing will be censored on this board, I expect swordplay to be a part of any Witcher game that revolves around Geralt, I expect a Witcher game to mention magic and sorcery, etc etc etc. I think a great many fans would probably have expectations, if unspoken or unrealised, regarding the PC-only status of the game. Specifically, I think many fans expected to see a Witcher II for PC at some stage, and now news of a console version has shaken that expectation. So having that expectation violated with little to no warning is sure to result in shock or even frustration, and that's the situation we're seeing here.In time, things will sort themselves out

There may be few who still hold a grudge, but you can't really do much about that. CDPR: think of it this way. You've created something that inspires so much passion in fans that they are willing to arc up and fight you if they feel you are making an ill-timed step. That can be a
good thing, it's more proof that you created something special

So take heart, and try to continue to show us patience. This storm too shall pass

edit: one thing I forgot to mention. All I've said in this post doesn't mean people aren't welcome to different opinions - of course they are, and I for one welcome different points of view. I just don't like seeing people upset, and for those who are struggling with this situation, I'd encourage you to think about your motivations and expectations. See if you can't figure out what's upsetting you so that you work through it
