So the moral of the story is that there's been no official statements to date ;D And that's fair enough. It can be hard to remember that, sometimes, especially when the REDs are as accessible to the community as they are. We don't have all the information to hand yet. As we all well know, being veteran Witchers as we are, ;D monsters live in the dark. As we can well see from this thread, the community are concocting all these scary stories about what's "going" to happen to the Witcher franchise, all of which are based on speculation and guesswork and little based on official statements (because there have been none!). At the moment, we are all in the dark about the future. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it just means hardly any of us work for CDPR :D In fact, CDPR are the light bearers (or Cat bearers, if you will), the only light bearers, so I think it makes sense to wait for their light before judging the situation.I'd caution anybody against letting this upset them too much at this stage when we simply don't know what's happening. It's perfectly understandable that some people might be upset by this console news. Anger and frustration are covering emotions, and are a result of a violation of the expectancy set. For good or ill, we all carry with us certain expectations, even if we are unaware we are carrying them; I expect swearing will be censored on this board, I expect swordplay to be a part of any Witcher game that revolves around Geralt, I expect a Witcher game to mention magic and sorcery, etc etc etc. I think a great many fans would probably have expectations, if unspoken or unrealised, regarding the PC-only status of the game. Specifically, I think many fans expected to see a Witcher II for PC at some stage, and now news of a console version has shaken that expectation. So having that expectation violated with little to no warning is sure to result in shock or even frustration, and that's the situation we're seeing here.In time, things will sort themselves out :) There may be few who still hold a grudge, but you can't really do much about that. CDPR: think of it this way. You've created something that inspires so much passion in fans that they are willing to arc up and fight you if they feel you are making an ill-timed step. That can be a good thing, it's more proof that you created something special :) So take heart, and try to continue to show us patience. This storm too shall pass :)edit: one thing I forgot to mention. All I've said in this post doesn't mean people aren't welcome to different opinions - of course they are, and I for one welcome different points of view. I just don't like seeing people upset, and for those who are struggling with this situation, I'd encourage you to think about your motivations and expectations. See if you can't figure out what's upsetting you so that you work through it :)

Now, if your PS3 vesion gets better than my 360 version, THEN I will get grumpy! :pOr buy a PS3. Whatever ;)But yeah, having read about the modding problems etc. I think I get the bigger picture and can understand now why Raven was so frustrated. But well, we just have to wait (like always).Nix wird so heiß gegessen wie es gekocht wird after all ;)

You said you would be in bed anyway :pYeah, we don't know what the future holds, not for sure. So, even if our suspicions will turn out to be true, we still don't know what will happen to the PC version. And there are still the other 2 games...

I better didnt read it all, because it all looks like a fight with no sence.I love Witcher game, also books and TV series, the whole Witcher world. I think I can say it is the best game I ever played. I do not own a console and I will never buy it, cause I use PC mostly for work (and for Witcher, of course) and I am not a big gamer so I do not need and want machine just for games.People can be upset because of the Witcher Console version, but also console players could be upset when PC version was released. You cannot do the best for everyone, and human kind will always be unsatisfied with something.IMHO it is also too soon for Witcher 2, I think it wont be as good as we are expecting now, cause the excitement from Witcher1 is still not completely over, so why Witcher 2 right now? I really want Witcher 2 to come, but it is not necessary to come next year or in 2 years. It will come when it is ready to be better that first Witcher. But I dont think RIGHT NOW is the right time.

Should there really be a console version (SHOULD) then I hope it will come with a CE. I would buy it in an instant.I hope the 360 version will come with a Premium Theme pack for NXE *sigh*Anyway, back to topic: We want more CEs :p

I for one am shocked for this turn of events.I feel sorta of betrayed if you may.It feels like we (the 1 million+ PC gamers who bought it) just beta-tested it and now you are gonna give it to consoles with better graphics, combat system, more quests and stuff and we the PC players are left in the dust where we can't experience the game how it should've been on PC.Now I don't support another EE where we could download all the improvements to our PCs again cause that wouldn't be very praticeable. On the other hand it's good that the devs are getting in the console audience where they can make more money and introduce other gamers who don't have a PC in the wonderfull game world but at the same time I am very worried that if you guys succeed and make it big on consoles like on PC or better, then when you release Witcher 2 you will pull a Mass Effect on us PC gamers as in releasing the PC version 6 months after the console version then blame piracy as an excuse and pull an Epic Games on us and not release any PC games for us at all and forgetting where you guys started.I also worry that TW 2 if released on consoles at the same time might be even more simplified.Complicated RPG games aren't that big on consoles than on PC.I hope you guys don't pull an Epic on us and live on in both worlds (PCs and consoles) and that you succeed. But please don't forget us that helped you get big in the first place.

@CDPR-TeamI hope, you aren't angry at the harsh criticism too much, so you will turn off the flash-player-animation of the wall. Because I really want to know, what is beind this wall.

My, my, aren't people getting paranoid around here :DI, for one, I'm sure that what's behind that wall is a real surprise, not the announcement for Rise of the Witcher. They most likely wanted to announce the two at the same time, but that damned leak drove everyone to think that the big surprise was the console version, while I'm sure it's not that!

I dont think either, cause no one said "IT IS THE CONSOLE VERSION, BAH! You wont get anything new for PC, never ever, only consolegamers will have all the cool stuff."People can be really egocentric sometimes ;D Why wont we just wait and see, we can discuss, we can ponder, we can wonder what will that be, but why blaming CDPR team for something they didnt do..

Well, they are working on 3 projects. So even if one of them is the console version of the Witcher, that still leaves 2 other projects yet to be reveiled :)
