Please help me figure it out. I'm stuck where Geralt gets captured and has to fight with his bare hands. He dies real fast.

I can see with medallion that there's a chest across his "cell" and something else is glowing to the left of it. But even if he makes it to the chest without dying, he cannot loot it for some reason. If he makes it to the left, he can't loot anything over there, either.

I tried running away to buy a sword, but gate to the town can't be accessed and I don't think anyone out of town sells swords.

You should be able to pick up either: one is a useful sword, the other is your inventory. After you break down the door, go to either quickly; do not stop to fight anybody.

Thank you I found the sword, it was on the rack and I didn't notice it before.

One more stupid question, it isn't worth a new topic: How do I unlock anything else in the Character Screen, apart from the Training Path? I'm level 8 and I haven't spent a single earned level point up until now, saving them for other paths and being undecided on which path I'd like to take yet. But do I have to spend 7 points to fully fill in the Training path to unlock others? Or is there another way to do it?

The first six or seven points must be spent in the Training Path, but you don't need to fill in the entire path.
