Okay, I don't like do this but:The concept of
albedo,
nigredo and
rubedo comes from the
Grand Opera, a 19th century alchemy book. The Aristotle's
concept of substances you refered, Mr Sweney, concerned philosophy and metaphysics. Nothing to do with Alchemy, which was born in the Middle Ages.If you focus your hints by saying: "think of Aristotle" can be misinterpreted (or at least by me, who knows about the matter).
