The Jester's riddle (contest game)

+
Hmm I see... unsheathing --dawn-- does NOT bring light.

OK so a couple of dark mode swords. I'm going to say Virgin and Black Unicorn.

No, try again :p

Chose the two ones that are related with "war effects on people" and you will have the complete answer: you will find also that the riddle suits well also those two names (if you read dawn=beginning, light=happiness, etc) :)

*Sigh* Weeper and Mourner?

Sorry if I'm not making much sense. I'm tired, it has been a long day.

Yes, right answers :)
Congratulations, .Volsung.

Now it's your turn :)

Sorry for the delay. Got a few things going on.

The riddle:

In vain I tried to drive away
the mighty threat that doomed us all.
I planned ahead and in the end
my plan and I, both took the fall.

How come it worked in years past?
And not a minute could I last?

Long hours I worked, until I watched
my great creation, shimmering at night.
Wretched sages, they assured me:
it would suffice with just one bite!

I am sleepy and i discovered this topic like an half hour ago, but here is my guess- as for the sufficing with one bite, vampire comes to my mind.
lol sorry for the rhyme :D

Fregenal and His Koschey!

Great thinking! But nope :)

Look at the first couple of lines. Someone tried to do something good, but failed in the attempt, even though something similar had been done before.
