Agreed, personally I can't get immersed in arms floating around on a TV screen.

Definitely? Not for me, fine as it is and I absolutely love how 1st person works in this game. Sure, I too do feel a little sad that I can't take a look at my character, so I get where you're coming from with the idea, but for me having an SSR or RT reflection of the character would be just enough.

Maybe happen , who knows , but having option in settings be great , alot people do prefer 3rd person , no point having character creation and clothing options if can't see character , they should've just given a base model like Duke nukem etc .

Still, those are some goofy animations. I always wondered why the player character's shadow seemed to suggest the animations were a little off. Now I understand.

There's not much a modder is going to be able to do about those animations. You can tell that the female character is using a male skeleton, and that's giving her some... atypical proportions. There's lots wrong here.
But they're going to release it anyway because it beats the living heck out of customizing your character and wardrobe and then having no damn vanity camera. If it weren't for the fact that CDPR very obviously didn't have enough time to do everything they wanted to, I'd have called this one of the most inexplicable oversights.
Perhaps the embarrassment of everyone using this third-person mod with the wonky animations will force CDPR to do third-person properly.
I think it's unlikely. So much so that if CDPR adds 3rd person, I'll add "I was wrong about third person perspective being added to the game" in my signature for a month. I would be fine with it, but I sincerely doubt it will happen. The dialogue system is built around what V is looking at in first person perspective and the game spends a lot of time in dialogue. Also there would be lots of issues with the camera getting hung on stuff in TPP in many of the tighter indoor settings. Also a lot of the screen effects in the game are based around the premise that we're seeing what V sees. I don't think it would be the same in TPP.
Now, assuming CP2077 gets some form of modkit (which is not guaranteed yet), I'm sure some people will try to mod it in. There were a couple FPP mods for TW3.

I mean, maybe I'm just unique, but considerations like these always feel comically straightforward: You force the damn third-person off when it's inconvenient to have it on. The way games have done for decades.
Different devs have greater / lesser success with this. I believe in CDPR's ability to navigate this issue at least as well as has been done, again, for decades.
If the concern here is immersion, that feels like a strange issue to bring up when the game, by default, has things turned on like film grain and lens flare. These are not things the human eye sees IRL.
Has there been some word of this? I didn't even know there had been whispers. I was assuming all mods would have to be essentially hacked in. I've got a mod for the game sitting on the sidelines, waiting for CP77Tools to get a certain important update.
In the waaaaaaay long ago they discussed it a bit. The gist was "we're not going to even think about that till after the game is out, but we'll see once we get there." If you're asking me what I think is most likely, then yes I think it's possible that there will be some form of limited modkit like what TW3 had. I doubt it will be anything extensive like creation engine.
I should probably also make it clear that I have no insider knowledge about that sort of thing, so my opinion is worth no more than anybody else.
It's unlikely. Even the way your character holds the gun is designer for first person view. I don't think if they ever worked on face animations of main character as we won't see them anyway. Maybe modders can do something about it, but I don't think anything official will come out.
Game was designed for FP; If you want to see your character just look into a mirror or use Photo Mode i'm actually building a collection of my V with that and I rarely use Photo Mode in other games, on this one I see the point.

Uh, so you have been following Cyberpunk 2077 since the very beginning yet you still somehow missed each and every one of the dozens of times they mentioned that it is played in the first person exclusively? How does that work?
Mirrors will not be created until the player model gets adequate animation. Therefore, everything is interconnected.
