And I'm pretty sure one of the major arguments that has been made continuously here was that they kept presenting it as third-person while it was in active development, right up until the 2018 rug-pull reveal where they declared "actually it was never going to be third-person." That WAS the point you were asserting as well, as far as I can tell. That there was NEVER any intention of making the game Third-Person.

Clearly that isn't the case, and the reason for so much bad blood in 2018 was because no effort was made to correct this until they had already locked in the current build. The decision didn't magically happen at E3 in 2018. This decision was made before E3, but nobody was informed of it UNTIL E3 for the purpose of maintaining hype.

Furthermore, the arguments made back then and still is being claimed was that it was for the purpose of "immersion" and "artistic vision" but the reality is that it was most likely just too difficult or too expensive, or both. This means they clearly had a few other builds that didn't work out as intended (which is something we also have reports of), so they used the one that worked the best, kept all the third-person stuff (like customization) but cut the actual third-person gameplay. There is plenty of proof of this, no less, if one considers the attempted ransoming of the game a few years back. CDPR wasn't bothered at all or intimidated - most likely because what was being ransomed was an older build that they were no longer using.

Sorry to say... Not just 2018, you also said

But when someone shows the first place(2013), you are straight up in denial. The way you are responding, things may escalate and a mod might mark this thread as threatened.

People are just showing their opinion/disappointment here, not telling you that cdpr absolutely needs to work on it (but we'd be happy if they do :p)

No argument any of you could make exists that hasn't been made a hundred times already, because like I said this topic has been controversial since 2018.

Context is important. You're taking that bit out of context, which is a poor way to try to prove any point.

I also prefer TP. Shooting is often better in FP, however. But there are games out there, designed for TP, which makes the shooting at least as good in that view as in FP. (Mass Effect, Division, for example.)

I even find it more immersive in TP. I can take on the roll of a very different character than me much more easily, if I see him/her in TP. To see how he/she acts to see the emotions via body-telling. I just find it better.

Sadly, the second game I'm realy looking forward to, is also FP-only afaik: Bloodlines 2. At least the first part was hybrid. And this is, what I prefer most, especially in RPGs.

Also: There is NO game at all, which makes melee-combat as good in FP as in TP. I know one - and only one - game, where the melee-combat is good in FP: Dark Messiah of might and magic. And I play a lot of games! But as mentioned above, there are very good games, with shooting in TP.

I think there are only two game-genres with characters, where I pefer FP. Shooters (like Battlefield) and horror-games (like System Shock and Undying.)

But I wish, the game would have a VR-Mode. THIS would be immersive, then!

CDPR after E3 2018 said well there will be 3rd person cutscenes, and after E3 2019 even that was throw out, and continue to say how yeah 1st person is more immersive, we know people want 3rd person, but we will have many options to make even them happy, Mirror and Photo mode and 3rd person driving, i am sorry but none of those options is good exchange for 3rd person gameplay and what he add to game.

i would suggest to bring back those 2 hot character that we saw on the trailer miss and mr V if CDPR not gonna do anything regarding third person view since the character creation has failed it's purpose.

I was surprised they weren't available as presets. The current presets were much harder to get the way I wanted

I hate to be "that guy" but I am so very proud of CDPR to not include 3rd person. To me, 3rd person breaks immersion and makes the game feel like a console port, which is an immediate turn-off.

I hope CD Projekt makes in the future a update with Third Person that we have then the two options first and third person. So that everyone can use the Option which he like.

Also look like Character Creation left out from development, since they said it will have so many options to customize character, and even with 1st person only, i hoped that at least i will see my badass character in 3rd person cutscene, but sadly nothing from those options, no 3rd person cutscene no 3rd person view to play the game and really limited Character Creation.

If they did add 3rd person view as option to pick at start, all would be fine, and you still would have fun playing in 1st person, and people who like 3rd person would have same fun in their prefered view, all happy and good, but no like this people who like 3rd person need to play in 1st person and to be told how, no no nevermind that you like 3rd person that is more immersive for you that you connect more with your character and game world, we know better than you what is good for you and what is more immersive and fun.

I can't stand this sentiment. The option of TP would not take FP away from you. It would not reduce your experience one bit. It would however improve the experience for countless others.

They've known for over 2 years about your desires and have replied each and every time "First person only."

It would be nice if folks would simply acknowledge that this is not the game you want. Either admit that and play it as it is or realize you spent your money on something you knew nothing about.

I'm not surprised, honestly it was false marketing. I tried to tell them but nobody listens. When you show a game in trailers and what not in TPP, AND call it an RPG. New people are going to ask this question. lol

I know it's hard to implement now the games released, and i'm aware it's an artisitic/ story telling choice but can we please have a toggle for third person and first? even if in dialogue I could switch to first so I don't miss any npc movement but I really want to see my customized toon and her outfits.

I don't really play any First person games, and when I do I always toggle Third person just because i'm bad at aiming and my field of view in First is always frustratingly small. It doesnt fit the direction you guys are going and I know that but even if it was implemented for easy mode just so I can enjoy collecting outfits.

The dialogue options don't really build her personality, even when I try align her one way I have to end up saying what the game wants me to say anyway. Having third person would probably distract from the lack of range V actually has as I can present her how I want and be aware of how she looks.

If third person is a definite no, please consider adding dialogue from Npcs that comment on how your toon looks and possibly adding a shadow to the afro hair so I can see it still exists and is a part of who she is.

(yes I know V has no gender I just associate them with female because I chose my toon is female)
edit- forgot to say, i'm super proud of you guys for all your hard work especially when the game was bullied into release. please keep it up!! I love you all <3

yes, even a mod could be very interesting, and enjoy the game under the 3rd person view ! I hope it will be done quickly.
but at the moment, I'm not at all interested in playing it, I feel no emotion in this view option, and I feel like I'm in front of an empty shell .... its lack of reaction, expression, and gestures, and especially immersion in my own sense.....:(
I'll wait for a future mod or patch...or nothing. :giggle:

Lol many stuff they promise are not in bloody game, also problem with first person only is they try to convince us how CP2077 will change RPG how 1st person will be much different then all other 1st person games so far, how you will look around see some object and get dialoge option base on that how that will be new and unique then any other RPG how that will be only possible in 1st person, how HUD is different and unique and scanning would just not work in 3rd person, and even after E3 2018 demo on this same forum many of us said how all that can still work fine in 3rd person, how HUD and scanning is nothing special how all that work in 3rd person best example Batman Arkham games, and people still blindly lisent to CDPR when they alone can see reason for 1st person are all BS.

What makes people think 3rd person & RPG have any sort of association? The few times 3rd person popped up in Fallout 4, I shut it off asap because it was clumsy as heck. And I bought The Witcher 3 over the summer, in the hopes of somehow satisfying some cyberpunk craving while tossing some $ at CDPR, and I thought 3rd person was distracting, clumsy, and a big part of the reason why I gave up right after killing the gryphon.

And only old Cyberpunk clips feature any 3rd person cutscenes--they've been gone for years, and all that was left is vehicle control...which doesn't help you control a vehicle one bit while trying to drive with 4 keyboard keys. I gave up on vehicles and have stuck to walking to and from fast-travel points instead.

What ? E3 2018 demo have 3rd person cutscenes it was 2 years ago, 2 years is not that long you here say, like they last time show 3rd person cutscenes in 2013.

But that is your feeling your opinion, it is not universal thing, if it was clunky for you, it is not clunky for all people.
What you say here is that since game was clunky and distracting to you, all other should not like it either.
