I totally agree, I was absolutely convinced that it would be possible to play in third perso.. There's no point of such a character creation, hype for customizing body (even more for genitals) if there's no 3rd view.
PLEASE :'( ADD IT TO THE GAME (I well I d'ont even know if it's possible but it's such a shame !)

The do have it, press N. Its for picture mode. 3rd person would ruin this game.

Would have been really happy with an optional third-person mode. I'm guessing they had limited time, though, and they didn't feel like implementing it and fixing all the bugs it would cause on top of support first-person. I'm sure a Modder will figure it out, though.

Not limited time, said they didnt like it and I agree with it.

If you dont see how than its pointless to explain how. This is a matter purely based on opinions and I agree with CDRs decision. It ruins the immersion in 3rd person.

So all people who said why 3rd person is more immersive and fun in this threaded and all other that was on this forum before this one are wrong, and we just need to accept what CDPR say is more fun and good for us?

You didn't give any explanation why 1st person is better nothing, just that CDPR say so and we all must bow down to them.

I have build a melee character which allways gets up close and personal.

So imagine the shitty time I have when I get close and slash my way into 20 enemies when I dont have a 3rd person view :
1 - it's techincally hard to achieve
2 - it' visually unimpressive (especially when you have those blades that come out of your arms)

Yes, that is how opinions work and that is how decisions are made. I dont have to explain why 1st person is better for me. Im not going to be able to convince you it isnt. If you dont understand how 3rd person and 1st person alter the mechanics of the game than its pointless to dive into them. Conversations like this end up with my opinion is right and yours is wrong. I see why people like 3rd person and ive played plenty of games with it, i dont see it working well here based on how the game is built and balance. You cant just whimsically add 3rd person and poof it works with everything the game has. You neglect time, resources, and balancing. This is their game and their vision. So literally yes, you have to bow down to their decisions. IF you dont like it, find another game that supports it or make your own game with YOUR vision. You want CDPR to bow to YOUR vision and its a selfish one. People make games based on their visions. You either like it or dont, you dont try to change it without a good reason and the reasons for 3rd person being added imo are not good enough to completely alter the things that need to be changed and balanced for it to work. Lets skip over the fact that 3rd person completely disregards stealth and makes it stupid easy.

I personally love the FP perspective; it is more immersive. Plus there are some cutscenes where it switches to TP. But everyone loves different things and I hope CDPR will consider bringing TP to the game as an option in the Settings menu.

I agree I would also like third person view if possible. Although not a game breaker for me. I already love the game and have not encountered any huge bugs on pc.

For me the 3rd person view helps me to identify with the hero in question, to be completely in the game, a sense of control, and all that follows around the game world.

In the first person I lose control, my vision of the game, and the loss of fun, I don't recognize myself through the character I don't see, the charm doesn't work, because I'm dealing with a vast world and I need to be in the character.

In the fps (shooting game) I do not feel this, but when it comes to rpg, the universe must revolve around the character, whether visual, but also in his gestures, mimicry, expression ... it remains my personal opinion.

A mixed between 1st and 3rd view would have been not bad, during gunshots for example, we switch to the first person, but all that relates to immersion, walks, and discovering the world the 3rd person is more interesting.

Each person has his own preferences, and his own immersion, alas for me this view total in the first person does not take.

BINGO!

Aside from the obvious advantage of aiming, first person works great for first person shooters because the main focus is to run around shooting and you're almost entirely focused on everyone else and everything happens so fast. With RPG's it's pretty much the opposite, things are slower and your character takes precedent as far as your focus is concerned.

I don't feel immersed in first person in this game, I don't feel like I have a character, I feel like a camera running around and it prevents me from truly enjoying the experience because even after 30 hours I keep wanting to switch to third person. However, I recognize that certain moments in the game are better in first person like when you first go to see Victor or the interactions with other characters that are story moments etc but those moments are pretty spread out over all if you're just trying to enjoy the world and in no way do those moments require the option of exploring the world through third person to be missing.

Finally people are individuals and we're all going to have our own preferences and ways of experiencing things which suits us better and that's normal, that's called being human. Our minds and the way in which we perceive and experience things are different. The great thing about options is that multiple groups of people are able to enjoy the game as much as possible and I empathize with all the people like myself who are missing out on so much of the world and experience of Cyberpunk 2077 because we weren't given the option to the play the game and experience the world in such a way that allows us to feel a part of it.

Right now I'm 30 hours into the game and because I'm forced to experience it through first person perspective it's like trying to watch a movie with a migraine or horrible tooth ache. I honestly equate my experience to torture as if I am being forcibly being prevented from going to sleep and all I want is to drift off into a beautiful dream but someone slaps me and forces me to stay in this horrible reality where I am so close but so far. My mind simply cannot get lost in the fantasy.

Here I tried Frans Bouma's camera tool and this is whats it looks like really in game.

So can anyone mod? Or if you could direct me to the modding procedure for this game, I will try to learn and mod if possible. Cause we might extract the head from photomode or character customization. And the camera tool I used can be locked behind head.

I think a good option is to add a 3 person camera when you walk through the city, and when you take out your weapon, dialogues or you enter combat zones it will change to first person. It would be something easy to do and it would please many.

Yikes, it'll probably be harder than I thought. Mirror's Edge Faith always had her head even in first person for some reasons, so doing a 3rd person mod was basically just a question of moving the camera further back afaik. Camera was still locked to her waist though, not much could be done about it.

I don't know how moddable Cyberpunk will be but in this case we would need:

1- To move the camera further back (an offset, basically). And ideally, a vertical offset too so the camera is tied to the upper part of the body.

2- To toggle the head, which happens in cars/when looking at a mirror. So that means there's a line of code somewhere which prompt the head to appear. No idea if we can trigger it on purpose or how hardwired it is tied to other systems.

Also, y'all need to prepare to deal with this kind of atrocity lol

That said, running/walking is functional enough so there's that... And the second good news is that third person is a very desired request by enough players that we should see lots of effort poured into this.

What you probably need to do is check what happens in the game world and code when the player looks into a mirror. I suspect the game generates a second (full) model of V and positions that on the other side of the mirror, matching the first model's animations. What you then do is force that second model to persist in the game world, reorienting it so that it is positioned where the original model is. Then you just toss the original headless model 200 feet under the map, or make it invisible, so all the third-person camera can see is the persisting mirror V.

And did they make game for fun or since they wanted to please Cyberpunk 2020 table top players? no they made game to make money simple as that, no one force them to make this game, no one force them to say game will be bug free as RDR2, no one force them to say how more then 1000 NPC will have unique rutine and their own lifes how NCPD will patrol the street.

Is not like this is Perfect game and now we try to trash her with bad reason, not adding option for 3rd person view was bad idea, cuting out 3rd person cutscenes also was bad idea, if CDPR really listening to fans, then they need to listening to all fans, not just one who praise them how great they are even when game have problems.

would you ask for third person view in Half-Life1/2 or halo? No. Why? because it's a first person shooter just like this game.
