June 2018 is when they started marketing and sharing information about the game, so yes it is the very start in that way.June 2018 ≠ the very start
Not even close.
Also in the way of decision to make Cyberpunk FPP-only being made in 2016, while the game was still at pre-production stage.June 2018 is when they started marketing and sharing information about the game, so yes it is the very start in that way.
Is it a boy or is it a girl? Before this final announcement this baby was on its way for a while. During that period, a timespan three times that of the one past said announcement, a combination of both was (perhaps vaguely) hinted.June 2018 is when they started marketing and sharing information about the game, so yes it is the very start in that way.
Which is pretty poor in 2020. Especially for a game hyped as this one.Yeah, it would be perfect to have 1st person and normal, real time reflections in windows and mirrors in some of a places. But I guess that will never happen due to engine limitations.
Because Cyberpunk by Pondsmith has a certain pull to see if it is worth to endure FPP.I have a question? Why buy a first person game then get all disappointed and mad about it being first person. That's like buying a car, getting home and being mad that it's not a truck. I personally never got the infatuation with needing to see your character other than playing Barbie dress-up
yeah lately my mind changed a bit as well at first I was upset that 3rd person was changed to 1st person during the development - but than last week I played WD2 and noticed that it isn't that much better in 3rd person actually CP77 1st person makes it interesting but im with you there should be way more options to see the char in reflections or mirrors or even more cutscenes with all the fancy gear around.... I pretty much like the tons of cuts in WD tho... oh and lord please put a lil bit more love into our shadows.... every time I see it I think its nearly trolling on purpose... we have 2021.... our shadow looks like a bad meme of 1990... q.qI'm ok with 1st person only. In fact, i much prefer it. 3rd person games tend to have clunky controls. Take Rockstar games (GTA, RDR), controls feel like you're walking on the bottom of the ocean, at least for me. They prioritize how the animations look and how realistic they are over playability. In CP77, controls are much more smooth and gameplay more fluid.
One thing i would like to see tough is more ways to actually look at your character in-game (other than in menus). If we exclude photo-mode and mirrors, which both happen NOT in real time, there are no actual in-game reflections on surfaces, or similar ways to take a look at your toon from time to time. Hell, every time i see an ending i'm like, "eh, didn't remember i gave my V green eyes"...
1) True, but not impossible. Whether if it's worth spending time and resources for it, to create said redesign, is another matter. The game envisioned by CDPR simply wouldn't work in 3rd person:
- entire dialogue system would have to be redesigned (1)
- every scene Johnny is in or with V coughing blood and losing conscience would look weird (2)
- interiors would have to be unnaturally large and wide to accommodate over-the-shoulder camera (3)
- gunplay at distance and quickhacking requires precision that 3rd person perspective doesn't offer (4)
- picking up objects you want or interacting with computers often times requires you to hunt the right pixel (5)
It was clear to me pretty quick what was going on and I wasn't very impressed, let alone horrified. It was funny though. There is a scene that I was horrified :
I was "wtf i have done?", this effect of no control and not knowing what was going on cannot be done in 3rd person. When you give control to Johnny, and he goes to party hard, fight and crash a car
Probably, you would not have the feeling so "intense"...It was clear to me pretty quick what was going on and I wasn't very impressed, let alone horrified. It was funny though.
In the end I don't see why it cannot be done in 3rd person.
