There's always LARP! (And I am talking about the EUro LARP scene, not the US.)

LARPers are bloody wierd... it looks fun, but everyone I know who does is a bit funny in the head...

I prolly couldn't handle a LARP unless several playboy bunnies were involved.

Certainly wouldn't be against trying a real P&P RPG though. The closest I've ever come to playing one was way back in middle school. It was one of those D&D style introduction games with a board and really simplified mechanics. My friend was the dungeonmaster, and his sister, my brother, and I were the adventurers.

All I remember about that game was the sister getting food poisoning, me getting crushed by a stone trap, and finally the dungeonmaster getting pissed and sicking several goblins on us after we were all hunched behind a barrel arguing about tactics or something. I think we wanted to maneuver around the room metal gear solid style by hiding behind the barrel and pushing. fun times. fun times.

I'm sorry, we're supposed to be talking about water aren't we?

Being at the Playboy mansion is absolute magic for, like, half an hour.

Then, the magic fades a little. Hef has pretty specific tastes; after about a half hour, it was like looking at the same one hot girl over and over. It was like

Ctrl+C
Ctrl+V
Ctrl+V
Ctrl+V
Ctrl+V
Ctrl+V
Ctrl+V

and so on.

(I still stayed until the party ended, of course. You'd think I'd bounce from THAT party early??)

Blonde with fake tits...Hugh's really lost his sense of taste and style over the years...

I remember when playboy was actually pretty classy... it's sad what it has become these days..

This is Tabitha Lyons...

She makes LARP weapons, armour and costume, (as well as movie props,) and she goes to the same LARP events I go to.

Does she count?

(And she made all her own weapons and armour from foam and latex, just so you know...)

There are genre's outside of Cyberpunk. I'm guessing your previous remark was based on someone into Masquerade.

I've got some buddies who are into a UK Fallout LARP.

I will NEVER trust anyone who tell me they are an avid player of that game... Anne Rice ruined vampires, fans of Vampire just smeared her shit around... all Twilight did was continue in Rices tradition of of making vampires as twatty as possible...

Actually, now I think about it, I have taken part in a campaign that started out on a container ship. It was a lot of fun. I am writing some notes for a rerun of it.

It was a medium to high end military campaign. We were all Marine-Mercs in SP25 ACPA, (basically enclosed metalgear with a low end frame, no added weapons and the heaviest weapon we carried was 7.62mm machine guns or .50 cal sniper rifles with some C6 in there.) We infiltrated a container ship because it was transporting top secret gear for the US military and it had lost all contact. The ship looked abandoned, but after taking out a few random grunts we dicovered some proper ACPA wearing psychopaths.

As I rememeber, we never finished the game but half the team was dead half way through.

One of the guys died because he blew a hole through the hull and flooded the compartment he was in by mistake. He drowned because his suit had been breached by gunfire.

Good times.

Yeah. As I said, I would love to see a reincarnation of this campaign.

I do hope Redkit'77 will have something we can recreate this with though.

Good idea, but I'm not sure how you would be able to recreate weapons on redkit.. Unless you are fine with everyone using swords and magic that is..

I think there could be an opportunity for making big boats moving parts of the scenario. In sandbox games it's typical that there are smaller boats you can drive but not roam in that much, and big stationary boats and ships that sometimes are the scenario of a mission. I know some people want to have access to everything, and that means maybe controlling them too but, let's say you just can't, what about making them parts of the map that are constantly moving, sailing and switching places?

I don't see why barges or containerships can't be part of the explorable cityscape (provided, of course, they put water / the marina in the game.) In the past two GTA titles, you can ride the trains. I don't see why a boat would be much different.

In Saints Row on of the things I always wanted was to get a large yacht as a safe house.... a cargo ship wiht a retrofitted area would be just as cool...and yeah, it should slowly move around...
