Been playing the game for 26 hours and It comes to my mind the same what happened to Fallout 4 story. While the game has an active Mod Community it can help to fix the game a lot.

Absolutely. The world is stunning and it just bums me out you can hardly interact with it outside of main quests. Night City feels hollow and so many little mechanics don't make any sense. Like not being able to get a different haircut or how you can't pick up a knife you throw with that stealth perk.

The mod community has always been pretty chill. You are right. However I haven't been experiencing much issues. The only mod I currently have downloaded is a Reshade mod just to sharpen the game up a little bit.

There hasn't been a single game ever made that was not improved by the inclusion of modding tools. I really see a lot of potential for cool user crafted content in CP77, so I do hope we'll eventually get good modding tools.

The thing about mods is: All you need is a solid engine that makes in-depth modding possible, and then the developers need to invest the time and resources into modding tools. It's like a toolbox giving you the options to work, but someone has to make the toolbox and tools. Ideally, good tools.

I have no idea if CDPR will make and give us a good modding toolbox, nor if the engine is mod friendly. I know Bethesda ones are mod friendly and this is what made decent base games vastly better. You outsource what you couldn't finish or did not want to tackle (as conscious or unconscious style or design choice) and give the community the ability.

Having extensively played Bethesda RPGs with modding (Fallout and Skyrim series) and knowing other games with good modding (Stellaris, Rimworld, so many more) this almost becomes a "must-have" even if it's probably not always easy to implement. It's the main reason I come back to these games and also invest further money into them (with DLCs for example), because I know I get something that is solid on its own, but it will be made better with mods.

Whether we ever get a good toolkit for CP2077 or not: It should heavily be considered for the next game at least.

I cannot even see or find a reason against it other than the time and resources (work) you have to put into it of course:

- It pleases the community, as they can customize and do more a long time after release as developers can move on to other projects
- From the CEO / company perspective, it gets you better rep and more money for the product, if you give the modding foundation

Everybody wins, great games become greater. Just need the right frame work. The toolbox.

I've already seen some pretty cool mods for this game already. The 3rd person mod is especially interesting.

It amazes me what modders can accomplish in only a few days. Talk about true passion.

Having built literally dozens of mods for Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4, this is what will always keep me playing those games. Even with it's dated graphics, Oblivion STILL manages to drag me back for a playthrough from time to time when an interesting mod releases on Nexus, or I get a bug to create something new to play around with myself.

However, I will say that I truly believe the reason Skyrim and Fallout 4 surpassed their predecessors in the modding genre, is precisely *because* Bethesda released "official" Creation Kits for them.

So definitely. An "officially supported" toolkit would be awesome, and the game would greatly benefit. As would the game's dev team, who could turn their focus mostly toward performance fixes for the console crowd. Cross-platform compatibility would be nice so modders could create content for the console crowd as well, without the need for an additional, separate tool.

Why should mods fix the job that CDPR did wrong?

I have paid CDPR for their work and they must fix it. The mod community is awesome, but they shouldn't do a job that doesn't belong to them. Also, the game must be fixed on many platforms and most mods may only work for PC.

However, I agree that mods add features, but only when CDPR finished the game.

Modders are modders... do mod's, nothing more, cant handle a game like this. :) but, people dont pay to dreams :)

Well, I have a prototype of something I did in Unreal 4, 'anime' style, but scifi too. There is a character, unfortunately not customizable (body, face - this is something that only industry does, it demands a lot of work). RPG and mix what we call 'poin and click + 3rd view'. It reminds a lot - very much - of Eve Online's headquarters, by the way, the design is based on EVE Online, despite the cartoon / watercolor tone (for performance reasons even - and I can 'deviate' from some problems regarding realism). I have part of the script ... and a universe of work ahead of me and that I will only be able to continue next year, if I'm lucky ... (depends on wardware - compilation time is something that despairs me on my unfortunate i5 and Unreal is extremely cruel about). The cool thing is that the set was good, although I only have a miserable, small scene - in a small apartment (where everything is born). Skills for time, exclusively. A little action, but focused on the script. Open world, of course. For personal purposes, I will obviously work from a 'level' perspective - but on the basis of what I want to raise people - when I'm ready. Yes, free ... completely. I have something in mind, but it's for later and if that works. If it doesn't work, well, it's part, it won't be the first time in my life that something doesn't work.

:)

Kind, has all my support and consideration, if allowed by the rules of the CD (in this environment I don't even get involved). :) if im right, the quest designer from CDPR was a modder, no?

They were talking about mod support in an earlier statement so there's a huge possibility. Even if they don't support the tools but allow modding, we're good.

Sadly TW3's AI still doesn't have anything for it except this that entirely changes enemy animations. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1998
Makes me worry about Cyberpunk.

I REALLY hope support by CD, i have a HUGE expectation about, if CD dont wanna do a mission generator, let the modders do it to save this game...

My favorite mod was 'companion' - possibility to spawn companies and I loved having my daughter by my side in the Wizarding adventure.

For those of us on Sony, we'll get screwed again thanks to their xenophobic views on modding.

Don't expect much so you won't set yourself up for disappointment. CDPR is pretty chill about mods but they have never given tools for TW3.

TW3 has this community quest maker so we prolly could have the same.

Yeah.. sorry about that man. Cdpr has always been PC 1st. TW1 was a PC exclusive and TW2 was a timed PC exclusive. TW3 was also technically optimized for PC but the controls were made to work better on controllers over KMB. That's the closest they got to console support besides the controller driving in CP.
