Even the base aard is quite useful, the chance of stunning the gargoyle is still high. So i usually get my quen up and then finish the gargoyles with aard - ridiculously high amounts of vigor come in handy at this point.VinceValentine said:Well, I hadn't upgraded Aard, so it wasn't as useful as Quen. But the problem with the pillars was annoying whenever I was trying to stand behind them, or attempting to extiguish the torches. Perhaps I'll give it another try next time.
I first tried it on my second playthrough, which was the first time I'd come up against The Operator, and I was pretty desperate for any solution. That would have been version 1.3, I think. There's a possibility I did it wrong, but I've always thought that it was just coincidence. (You know how it goes - a virgin dies, it rains, from then on everyone thinks that "sacrificing a virgin" is the way to make it rain).VinceValentine said:I had watched a video on YouTube about it, if I recall correctly. Maybe it was a feature taken away with the following patches, or perhaps it worked only on consoles? I can't really tell.
Fact is, I have failed to reproduce this tactic with Enhanced Edition on PC.
