The perfect Witcher 3 ending (Spoilers everywhere and everything so only read if you’ve finished the game).

Closure for those who chose Triss and got the Ciri is dead? ending:

I was going to write this from a Dandelion perspective but there is no way I would have done it justice, so I’m just going to write a short narrative of the perfect ending for Triss, Geralt, and company.
Prologue: After Ciri didn’t come back after facing the White Frost, Geralt travelled to Kaer Morhen to discuss a serious matter with Lambert. He then travels into the swamp to retrieve something dear.

Following events take place just after Geralt retrieves Vesemir’s medallion…

After retrieving Vesemir’s medallion Geralt decides to meet Triss in Kovir because a word once given… For Geralt there was no moving on with the death of Ciri, every day thereafter was vodka, fighting with Triss and more vodka. One day Geralt had had enough and stormed out of their house in a drunken stupor. He decided to take a local contract to slay a Bruxae terrorizing the peasantry of Kovir. A lengthy fight ensued when Geralt caught up with his quarry. Though drunk he was still an extremely skilled witcher but he just didn’t have the will to fight the good fight and gave in to his pain. The Bruxae was inches away from tearing him to pieces when there was a flash of bright light and Ciri teleports in cutting the head of the Bruxae at the last second thus saving her mentor. With the Bruxae dead Ciri ran over to Geralt and hugged him. Geralt realizing this must be another one of his nightmares he has had since Ciri left to stop the White Frost, draws his silver knife since lost his sword in the fight. Geralt knows that Ciri is about to turn into a wraith and attack him. Before Geralt can plunge his silver weapon into the wraith he is knocked unconscious by it.

A few hours later…

Geralt wakes up in a cold sweat witch Ciri sitting on his bed next to him. She explains to Geralt how she managed to stop the White Frost they end up hugging once more with tears in Geralt’s eyes. Triss walks into the room and says they have to tell everyone Ciri is back or at least their friends. Ciri agrees but says she has to take care of something first and will meet them at The Chameleon in a days’ time. Triss sends Yennefer a message telling her Ciri is alive and to meet them at The Chameleon tomorrow. Before Ciri parts ways, Geralt hands her Vesemir’s medallion and tells her to be safe. To which she replies, “I just saved your life again old man, you need me and I’m not going anywhere”.

The next day…

Dandelion bolts upstairs as soon as he sees Geralt and Triss walk into the Cabaret. He barges into Zoltan’s room where he has a wench and says, “code wolf”. Zoltan jumps out of bed and quickly gets dressed as Dandelion ushers the girl out of the room. They then flip over the bed where they stashed some light armor, swords, axes, spears and a war hammer.

Meanwhile…

Geralt gives Triss a look and says, “I wonder what trouble he’s gotten himself into this time”.

Back to Dandelion and Zoltan…

They finished putting on their armor with Dandelion equipping a short sword and Zoltan picking up the war hammer. The two of them rushed downstairs prepared to fight against whatever threat faces Geralt in his hour of need. Triss upon seeing them says, “really? A bard turned into a warrior?” Zoltan responds before Dandelion can get a word in saying whatever Geralt needs we are here for him. Geralt explains there is no need for weapons and that Ciri has returned. Yennefer teleports into the cabaret and is caught up on events by Geralt and Triss.
As if on cue Ciri enters the Chameleon and joins Geralt and his companions at their table. She tells them she went to see the Emhyr and would not become an Empress as being the ruler of a nation is not something she ever wanted. After Ciri’s recap of what happened with the Emhyr var Emreis Geralt decided it would be the perfect time to tell everyone of the plan he created.

The conclusion…

Geralt started by telling everyone of the conversation he had with Lambert at Kaer Morhen. He had asked Lambert to be in charge of a new witcher training school and to do things right. No more 3/10 kids only surviving the trials, and to hopefully find a more humane way for the undergoing of the mutations as the old ways were lost anyways. Geralt realized the only way to accomplish this would be with the help of powerful sorceresses and alchemists. He proposed to Yennefer the idea of her being in charge of starting a sorceress/alchemist school on Kaer Morhen that would be a sanctuary for all of their kind. Before anyone could say anything Geralt launched into his next proposition which was for Ciri. He asked her to help with the training of new witchers as there weren’t that many who could fit that role besides Lambert and Eskel. Triss looked hurt/saddened as Geralt seems to be caught up in his grand scheme and that she doesn’t seem to fit in it. Yennefer accepted Geralt’s proposal as it would put her in a position of great power which is what she always wanted. Ciri agreed, but with the condition she would always have the freedom to do whatever she wanted even if that meant leaving Kaer Morhen sometime in the future. Geralt then turned to Triss and said he loved her and they would still live in Kovir and that they could use Kaer Morhen as a retreat whenever they wanted which made her feel relieved. Yennefer was a little hurt by this but she was getting over her feelings for Geralt as there was no way they could be together with all that had happened.

A couple months later at Kaer Morhen...

Lambert with Eskel and Ciri are training half a dozen new recruits to be witchers. Yennefer is teaching some young girls to be sorceresses. Geralt and Triss are visiting to see how progress is going and to reminisce about the fun times they had there. Zoltan, Dandelion and Priscilla are also visiting as there is going to be a decent sized feast for the new witcher recruits and young sorceresses. Lambert did play another minor prank on Yennefer when she first arrived at Kaer Morhen and during the feast their eyes met and that moment they shared was more than just friendship.

The End.

I know I’m not a professional writer just thought I could come up with a half decent (more likely a quarter decent) ending to give closure to those who need it. I would also pay for a short mod/dlc like this, most likely because it was my idea.

You didn't honestly expect you'd get such a cheesy happy ending with rainbows and butterflies did you? This isn't a BioWare game.

The perfect endings are the 3 endings we already have in game. All 3 of them are perfect in their own right. Your version of a "perfect" ending would probably make me throw my Xbox controller at my PC monitor.

He could always go back to Witcher 1 and do 'The Wedding'.

ME3 is the sole exception where BioWare tried to be edgy and horribly failed at it.

Every other BioWare game has a cheesy happy feel-good ending, or at least the option to get a happy feel good ending without much or any sacrifice at all.

To be honest with the extended cut the ME3 endings also became pretty happy-feel-good, with the exception of Shepard's faith maybe. Well and this ending, this one was pretty dark (and actually my favorite ending of ME3):

Your generalization was kinda stupid though. ME2 had a pretty dark ending depending on whether you did all the loyalty quests or not.

Oh god. I appreciate that you took the time to write up something but...dear god. That is the most saccharine thing I've read in a very very long time.

The best endings are the ones which never end the way you want, but could not imagine ending any other way.

Doesn't matter, my point that I made in the post above still stands:

That rings true even for ME2, where you could get through the entire "suicide" mission without anyone dying.

To be honest, some did die for me the first time I played that mission. Never had the Joker tends the coffins scenario though. It was on my second and after some "reading" on the subject that I managed to get the full crew out of it alive.

I agree though that everybody is happy scenarios don't really belong in the witcher, at most you can decide who ends up mostly happy, but always, someone, somewhere, isn't that happy how things turned out, or is dead (I'm looking at you Sigi, why did you have to do that? Why!?)

I think the devs already did a great job with all the three endings. and thank heavens they didn't go for the ambiguous endings (Mass Effect 3 I'm looking at you!)

i do wish there were more character endings like the one they made for Cerys. :)

No the endings that we have currently are just rushed and unsatisfying considering this was supposed to be Geralt's final chapter
I don't care if its happy or not as long as its satisfying and the final act & especially the ending were definitely not
