The Problem With the 'Viper' Gear

I'm sure it can be agreed that the HoS 'viper' gear is a joke and is not even close to the quality of actual Witcher gear. While the fan service is welcome, the attempt is horrid. Rather than just changing the textures a bit, move forward with an entirely new concept and an upgrade line that makes it a viable armor for NGP and the standard game.

These concept armors prove that you are more than capable at creating an awesome, original design. What you've given us is nothing Letho of Gulet, Serrit or Aukes would wear.

We know exactly what they wear and need I remind you that at the start of the game it's called Kaer Morhen armor? The Viper school does NOT wear Kaer Morhen armor. This is something that needs to be addressed because I can't deal with the lack of quality this "new" gear has.

Meh, doesn't really phase me all that much, but I do agree.

I would have much preferred to see some kind of hidden Diagram's in Kaer Morhen itself that would allow you to upgrade the Kaer Morhen set for late-game (And people have a stash now so they've really got no excuse for just throwing it away - bar being already part-way through a playthrough, and honestly at that point whatever, there's still plenty of other great* sets to use). Then have a more Letho/Serrit/Auckes styled set for the Viper Armour.

Again, it's not really a big deal, at this point I'm not too concerned, but I definitely think there could have been a more interesting implementation of Viper Armour.

Unlike actual Witcher sets, its utterly useless in NGP.

Actually, its my favorite new set. Although they could make the color pop better on it. Would be great if the leather color was darkened less and the snake scale, which is dark green was a little brighter & or reflective. The biggest problem to me though is that the venomous viper silver sword's appearance changes to the default silver sword. I hate that because the venomous silver sword looks really nice to me. I hope they fix it.

Yeah viper gear being a carbon copy of the Kaer Morhen armor was lame.

I just can't believe they'd ignore the armor that has been used for every trailer. It should have it's own late game version while the Viper set gets a more unique look.

You can get a legendary verion in NG+ ...

No it cant be agreed. Its my favourite. hands down. no contest. maybe master ursine can give it a run.
Why would it be a joke in NG+. Im a fashion witcher, so I played NG+ with mastercrafted witcher gear and the high lvl version start armour. I only switched when I could wear the mastercrafted legendary versions. So believe me, the awsome viper armour and swords will work even better. I dont mind having to hit a monster one extra time before it goes down. That monsters pack more of a punch is also welcome. But maybe you arent one of them that said deathmarch was soooo easy and wanted even more of a challenge?
I dont mind if you dont like the viper set, but the poll should include a " I like it " option. We all dont like the same shit you know. I hope for your sake that the next expanssion comes with a armour that suits your needs.

While Letho was in Kaer Morhen, he stole Kaer Morhen armor diagrams, made some slight cosmetic upgrades then sold it to that old gullible witcher fan girl as 'Viper' armor. Geralt buying back diagrams he's probably memorized by heart is the ultimate irony. Copyright and trademark laws clearly didn't exist in 1270s Northern Realms.

Jokes aside, it seems the only problem with this armor is the name. While I would have loved a separate original Viper armor, it didn't really bother me that much cause I wanted more an upgraded version of the Kaer Morhen armor, and if it's gonna be called Viper/Hog/Dragon/Crab armor so be it. Hopefully if there's enough complains about the name, in the next big patch CDPR will just replace the Viper with some other word like 'Legendary Kaer Morhen' (guessing a mere name change won't be that hard for the devs), then have the 'real' Viper armor in Blood and Wine. Makes more sense since the Viper school is supposed to be in South

I finished H.O.S. in NG+, but the silver venom sword is a normal lvl 39 sword, not the lvl 69 sword I need

I disagree seeing as it's level 39 so it could be used the whole time if your good enough and use at least a partly alchemy build for the extra vitality. I'm not gods gift to witcher 3 but I used the Warriors leather jacket (kaer morhen upgraded) in most of my play throughs. I just wear the rest of the wolf gear with it. Warriors leather jacket combined with Wolven mastercrafted everything else looks awesome especially with the faux hawk lookin haircut. Lol

I nerver liked the starting gear, so i'm a bit disappointed, but it's not a big problem after all. However i think, like whitewoof has said, it would have been better like 'Mastercrafted Kaer Morhen' and leave the real Viper gear for Blood and wine.

What bugs me is how you only get to wear it for 2 quests. The level requirement system is a real bummer for me overall.

To me, the new viper armour textures seem like the ones from very early witcher 3 screens of geralt

The 39 level silver sword is a bug. I hope they fix it in patch 1.11

Bleh, CDPR's attempt to satisfy both starting gear lovers and Viper set beggars didn't seem to work, heh?

Also, need a poll option for "I don't mind/care". ^^
