The Resurrection Mechanic
When a Blackwall Agent's teammate is flatlined (dies) during a multiplayer mission:
Ability Activation: The Blackwall Agent activates the Digital Resurrection Quickhack (still causing the Corruption spike as defined in the Balance section).
The Target: The Agent targets the fallen teammate's body, but the Resurrection Quickhack doesn't revive them there. Instead, it forcefully pulls the teammate's consciousness and streams it into a freshly copied body at the last successful Mission Checkpoint.
Automatic Checkpoint Use: The game automatically uses the checkpoint the party passed furthest into the mission. This prevents players from just resurrecting safely at the very beginning of the level.
Team Response & Risk: The resurrected player returns to the fight at the safe checkpoint with low health and no active buffs. This requires the surviving team members to either double back to regroup or defend the checkpoint until the resurrected player can get back into the action.
The Balancing Factor: No Solo Resurrection
Rule: The Blackwall Agent CANNOT target themselves with the Digital Resurrection Quickhack. This prevents them from using the power as a personal "get out of jail free" card and preserves the game's difficulty.
This refinement makes the Blackwall Agent a true digital support class. They don't just revive someone; they provide a tactical retreat to a safer, previously secured point in the mission, sacrificing their own well-being (via Corruption) to save the team's progress if one player survived they got a checkpoint hey everyone can revive to that spot.
