I could be wrong but it feels like there was a much better story planned for Cyberpunk 2077 (you as V being a mercenary) until Keawnu Reeves joined the production late into the development and that’s why CDPR had to rush and rewrite the story to revolve around a “big star”.
But this was unnecessary, they could have made his story into a payed DLC down the road.
