"The Sword of Destiny" trailer: will we be able to reach that graphical quality?

Hello everybody, so after seeing the Sword of Destiny (SoD) trailer I was really excited about the game, the graphical quality achieved in the trailer was outstanding, I was truly amazed it was all PC footage and I could not wait to push my rig in order to show all of that beauty.
But then the E3 demos arrived, and when I saw them I noticed the overall graphics seemed to be toned down: texture definition, lighting, foliage and grass appear to be worse in the demos, though still being on PC (bear in mind, I'm not counting the MS show). If you pay attention you can also see Geralt's hair behave differently, in a less natural manner in comparison to the bits seen in the SoD trailer.

I'm now a bit concerned about what the true graphical fidelty of TW3 would be, was the trailer enhanced to look better or were the demos scaled down to run better on E3? I know CD Projekt RED is a great studio, but I'd love to hear some clarification in order to clear any doubt.

Can we at least be guaranteed the final game will run the same as the SoD trailer?

I hope so, cause that trailer is amazing. But I think that graphical quality requires a GTX 780ti. :(

I suppose CDPR could deliberately tone down the graphics for the sake of fluent and stagger-free demonstration. Remember the game's not yet been optimized, so the graphical settings that might have been used in the trailer would most likely cause the game to run too slow during the demo. Out of the two (lower quality graphics with higher and more stable frame rate vs. higher quality graphics with stagger), graphical downgrade was probably the lesser evil (;)).

At least? I doubt that many gamers will ever see the same quality in the game. The majority of gamers will play on console or on PCs not powerful enough to reach stable framerates for that kind of fidelity. And to be honest, it's way too early to give any promises how the game will really look in the end.

Yeah. I think it will be even better on monster PC. For now, I'm happy about what I saw on E3. Xbox One demo looks just great even on stream quality. I ordered W3 for PS4 so maybe it will reach better resolution but level of graphics on console is very good for me. I thought it will be way way downgraded, but it looks great.

I hope you console guys won't have to deal with the quite heavy flickering and aliasing...

I was of course meaning to run that quality with the proper hardware, sorry for the misunderstanding. But I hope we'll have those settings available, because they truly look phenomenal.

Did you see the huge trailer they recently showed us? http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/21144-Video-Download-Center-for-TW3?p=1333910&viewfull=1#post1333910 Still not SoD quality, but better.

You know. When I got Witcher 2, I was playing on 800x600, textures on very high, medium draw distance, 20-30 fps and I was still enjoying the game. For me, that what I saw on Xbox show is enough. I'm happy even with 30 fps, 900p with upscalling or not and just medium level of graphics. I think that Witcher 3 will be very well optimised and the devs will push console version to its limits. Like I said, in case of PS4 I can caunt maybe on better resolution.

I dont want a game that has to run on 2x780ti SLI, for me the graphics are secondary when it comes to having a non laggy immersive experience. I trust the guys will find the perfect balance between the 2.

I don't think the graphical detail have changed that much. Playing in real time and seeing the game in it's intended camera angle is very different than having it in close ups ala cutscenes.

The game's gonna need those cloaked armors for the cold areas, I got chills from just seeing the wind effect, Geralt must be freezing.

Could just be me, but I kind of got the impression that what we saw at e3 is their target for how the console versions will look. I know they mentioned that it was running on a PC, but the fact that e3 is pretty much just about consoles, and the console centric UI, and xbox controller usage would make sense in these terms. CD Projekt Red seem pretty straight forward and honest, so I don't think they would release the sword of destiny trailer if they couldn't delivery upon it's visual fidelity. Especially after the whole watchdogs fiasco we saw unfold this year.

Yeah I thought about that too, I truly hope those were console-target settings and for PC we'll have something even better.
