This is one thing Yen supporters always bring up. Why didn't Triss tell Geralt about Yennefer?
Why would it be her duty? Zoltan, Dandelion, Vesemir, Eskel, or Lambert could just have easily have said something. But they didn't. Even if they did say anything it's entirely possible Geralt wouldn't feel anything for her since he doesn't remember her.

I agree. It's not like they gave Geralt amnesia. They probably just wanted Geralt to naturally recover his memories (except for Triss, she suggests things like the rose of remembrance to speed up Geralt's memory recovery and wanted to see if her love for Geralt had a chance).
It's left up to the player to decide I suppose for they never gave a clear reason why.

I could understand Triss not wanting to say anything, but Dandelion? Your best friend through thick and thin? If he saw you falling for Triss, which he obviously did, why wouldn't he stop you and go "Maybe you should wait until you get your memory back." or something... Or maybe he was curious and thought this would make a good ballad... And I could see Lambert jumping to tell Geralt just for the sake of drama... But who knows...

Me and my partner have discussed this many, many times... If we were in Triss' shoes, is it so hard to believe that we would do the same thing? If someone you love loses their memory and you could see if true feeling could develop why wouldn't you try? And even if you were in a relationship with Triss why didn't your "true love" (Yen) come find you? And why didn't Zoltan or Dandelion ever say anything to you about it?

My interpretation is that since they are his friends, and therefore care about him and his happiness, they would rather have him stay with Triss and not go back to a relationship that did as much good as harm. Or more harm than good, no idea about the particulars really, but I guess you can imply that from the word "toxic" that is often used when describing their relationship.

Agreed, everything I've seen about the Yen/Geralt relationship has included the word toxic. I think even the glossary says it was pretty rough, on again off again, etc. Early on in Witcher 2 it's said that it's toxic. It's one of the main reasons I picked Triss, not just because Triss has a lot of good qualities.

I just wish his friends acknowledged his decisions to choose Triss more often once he does profess his love to her. Like others and I have said before though, it seems the developers glossed over the relationships after Kael Morhen because Ciri was the main event now. Everything else went to the back burner, but never really came back around for closure at the end other than a slideshow.

Act 3 was pretty lacking in general though.

Same here. If you compare the two relationships I think Geralt and Triss is much better. Beside, without the last wish binding Yen and Geralt isn't it possible that Geralt would have chosen Triss? Everyone around Geralt sees that Triss is the better option even his witcher buddy that are supposed to be without emotions.

I agree completely with this. The only thing I could come up with myself. And on a side note - most emotional character in game, an emotionless Witcher. (Lambert)

Yep from my POV only Geralt and Yen enjoy their relationship (maybe Ciri too?); i don't know about the book but in game Vesemit, Lambert and Eskel dislike Yen and don't like the way she solves things (they are my bro Yen, at least you could act nice to them :D)

That about sums up my thoughts on Act 3. I would have been fine if after the battle it come back down and provided a chance for some closure. As it stands though, after the zenith of the entire game it pretty much ends right then and there. The epilogue slides don't provide the necessary closure.

A quick side note/question, how come when you romance Triss, Yennefer isn't even mentioned in the epilogue? Like she fell off the face of the earth or something. All we hear Geralt say when he talks to the Emperor is that "she's decided to stay in the North". Even though I didn't choose her, I would still like to know where she goes after all is said and done.

Imagine this moment, if they decided to include Triss in the first trip to KM.

Geralt and Triss are riding up the road. They dismount upon meeting Vesemir and they exchange greetings. The old witcher takes a moment to took at them, a curious expression on his face. His gaze focuses on from Geralt, moves on to Triss, who smiles as their eyes meet, and then back to Geralt.

Finally he places a hand on his shoulder and says, "I'm proud of you son."

Haha, you're really letting your imagination run wild with all these little scenes you're crafting, aren't you? I'm just kidding - keep posting em. They're nice to read.

But I don't know if he would call him "son" like that. Maybe something along the lines "you kids today" as he shakes his head. Then warning them that Yennefer is already there and then about the bed. I'd be down for something like that. :p

I don;t think Vasemir should say that, cause look like the meaning is :" finally you dumped Yen, good for you, Triss forever right Geralt" :))
I think he should say something like happy for you both etc

I keep thinking where i hear that phase, now i remember, Admiral Anderson to Shepard : you did good child, you did good , i am proud of you :(

Actually the first line that came to mind was "Geralt, you've defeated many a monster in your long life, yet none measures..."

But we're supposed to keep this thread Yen-bashing free so...

Yen is of no concern in this thread.
