So you are saying I can play every other quest in Novagrad, save Now or Never until after I take Uma to Kaer Morhen then come back to complete now or never? Reason is I want to get Triss earing but mostly to shorten the time between seeing her again. Plus I want to complete in wolf school gear.

Can anyone else comfort this?

Yeah! After Uma you get the Brothers in Arms quest. You talk to her and she says something like " Of course I'll help but I have a problem to deal with first." Do Now or Never ask her to Kaer Morhen and you don't get the shady "You should thank Yen.." conversation.

EDIT: I didn't do the "A matter of life and death" quest either though. Until after Ugly Baby

Edit 2: I just went and checked to make sure and yes you can definitely do Triss' quests after Ugly Baby :)

It's so much cleaner! I mean, in Geralt's shoes, you would be so worried about Ciri that you would have tunnel vision to find her. Plus, if you so choose, you can get Last Wish out of the way so when you romance Triss it feels more genuine. It really felt like a whole new game doing it this way :)

I want to try playing it this way. I'm close to level 10 but I haven't been to Novigrad yet but when I go there I should avoid going to Triss' home, right? Are there any other things I should not do in the city? When I get up to around level 15 or so I'll head over to Skellige and join Yen. Are there any quests I should avoid over there?

Personally i have no intention of ever leaving Triss hanging in Novigrad or playing along with their shoddy exclusion of her from Kaer Morhen. I'll carry on spitting feathers at the atrocious Kaer Morhen segment instead.

I did the main story mission - Getting Dandelion back - and Lambert's quest (as it fails when you go get Uma). I didn't do any other Triss quests :) I think (Don't quote me) That you have to do "A Matter of Life or Death" BEFORE "Cabaret" but you can do both after Uma.

I like to get Yen out of the way early so I don't have to deal with Geralt telling Triss he loves her and then flirting with Yen... Plus at least if you do it after Uma, you don't have to be angry that you can't tell the witcher boys about Triss. And for me it's almost like saving dessert for after dinner. Get all of the veggies out of the way so I can enjoy my cherry pie :p

Sorry I've been absent for a little while guys. I actually folded and decided to play it again. I wanted to try for the Empress ending and to see if altering the timing of some of the quests made it feel better. I am going to be composing a long-ish post about my revised thoughts in a little bit. Needed to get caught up though and as I saw this right at the end, I'll address it now. :p

Cabaret leads into Carnal Sins which is the quest where Priscilla is hurt and you have to find the crazy murderer dude. He does indeed kill the elder Vegelbud lady but it does not interrupt A Matter of Life and Death. Ingrid (the daughter of the older lady and the mother of Albert) is the one giving Triss money to get Albert out. After you meet Triss's contact in the fish market, he informs you the person in need of help is the young Albert Vegelbud. There is a dialogue choice reflecting if you did complete Carnal Sins prior to this - Geralt asks how Ingrid is doing after the death of her mother. The valet responds she is still upset but doesn't let it show and so she is keeping up appearances by having the masquerade. Confirmed it yesterday. I was nervous about this too though, so I made a separate save before starting the mission in case it screwed anything up.

Thanks :D I was worried about that because they say something like "The hardest thing will be hiding this from his grand mother." So wasn't sure if they affected each other in any way :D Really good to know!

Fair enough if that's what you want to do. The very furthest i can do is ditch Yen first before progressing any of the Novigrad main arc. There's only so long i'll starve myself before i have my Triss dinner. Like i said i despise Kaer Morhen section but i certainly don't want to play it as a Geralt who just leaves Triss in Novigrad(ignoring her request for help). Awful witcher and Yen sequences just ram home to me how badly Triss needs additional content and i really don't want to engage in character destroying behaviour to play along with their poor content decisions.

I think I will do this on my second playthrough too
At least then a few things make sense (especially Geralt flirting with Yen even after he told Triss he loved her)

Welcome back sir ! Glad you are still here. Worried that some of the "old" fans here just disappeared !

Cant wait to hear which order is the best to enjoy the game.

Im at Skellige now doing all side quests and some questionmarks on the way. After that I will do the story and go back for Novi and Triss to see if it gives me a better feeling about that.

Aiming to defeat the emptiness from the first playtrough when you just rush Triss and then nothing until almost forever :X

The new outfit is a little revealing but it's ok. Playing all of Skellige first is better, because you get the forced flirting out of the way and then go to Triss and work hard to get her back.

So far it's helping with the empty feeling after my first play through not a lot but it's helping. CDPR still needs to address the content and interaction issues but saving Triss for last make its worth the wait.

A little bit difficult for the ones that play the hardest level

I'll probably stick her in it post Novigrad this run once i work out how to uninstall DLC's, so i can remove it at a later date.

CD Red definitely have to address Triss content and interaction issues in some real way.

Nah, I won't be going anywhere until we get our day in the sun or we get shut down for good. :p I know life happens so it's a little unrealistic to expect 30-50 pages a day anymore. Especially since we did get a RED response. As long as new people keep coming on here and the 'regulars' come back every so often to keep the conversation going.
