The Triss content and the inconsistency of our romance's choice

I just can't decide between Empress and Witcher (not because of Triss this time). When Ciri ask Geralt if he want she go to see Ehmyr or not:
-I want to say no, because of many horrible thing Ehmyr did in the book
-If game only, i will say yes, Emhyr just a normal king who invade the North, i don't see any problem here. Or maybe he just want to see his daughter ?

I have played it twice, both times I was as rude as possible to Ehmyr, never reported to him or took Ciri, got the WItcher ending both times.
I have no respect for the guy after I heard his motivation in the books and his past with Geralt and Yen.
Don't know if I could ever bring myself to take Ciri to him.
Also isn't it implied that once Ciri has returned and become Empress General Morvran (I think thats his name) would marry her. I was always thinking like a defensive father. "No way is that guy touching Ciri" so witcher ending.

Yeah I agree I already bought the season pass and stand by it, this game is incredible so I would get all the content I can either way.

I posted earlier my thoughts on what scenes are needed if you can find it.

Short summary of it: Triss and Yen need a scene together where they confront each other about Geralt romance
Triss & Ciri need a scene together to show the "Big Sister" bond,
Need to give Triss back the rose of remeberance, (my preferenace would be Nilfgaardian tent before the final battle)
All 3 Triss Yen and Ciri need dialogue on the boat in Skellige,
Like you said Yen needs an extra one aswell imo, best place would be right after the tower at the end when she is waiting outside for Geralt
and Ciri.

So still pretty even - the main issue is that after we have romanced Triss, no NPC's refer to it, they mostly assume a Yen romance - e.g. Cerys, Witchers

And as I said in the intial post. Zoltan and Dandilion out of everyone should definitelty have something to say about a Triss romance or even talk to her as they are all friends and spent half the game in the same city without a single mention.

I agree. In TW2 Dandelion Zoltan and Triss were chilling out at the tavern in flotsam. They should KNOW about you and Triss.

No one refering to your Triss choice is one of the greater issues. Another reason why some people think that the Triss romance was not planned.

But I can repeat it. We wont see such changes because there will be no enhanced edition. The only way to show it are those expansions. Or maybe after that some DLC's I dont know. All in all it needs more interaction with different combinations as you and others said. Triss/Yen or Ciri/Triss etc. etc. Roche could be involved too.

At the beginning Roche took Triss while she was casting the barrier to protect them on their way to Flotsam. Roche having his hand on her ass there could have been a small comment on that in TW3 (IF you decided to go with Triss). Same with Letho. I could imagine he would say something like this:

Letho: Still struggling with your sorceresses?

Geralt: Mhh.. Wanna swap with me?

Letho: Ohh hell no ! I appreciate being my own master. Dont want to be a slave of their lust.

Geralt: Lucky you. Its so complicated.

Letho: Is it? Back then when I kidnapped Triss you seem to know what you want. Hunting around the world to find her.

Geralt: Well its not that easy.

Letho: Tell me Geralt, what had priority when I kidnapped her? To find Triss and get her save ? Or going for the kingslayer? And dont tell me there were no personal reasons for your decision.

Russian is my second language.
There is new - about secret clinics and about some person who take their 80% of earnings. So maybe there cut off from game about some secret clinics.

Why only more Triss? We should ask for more romance between Geralt and Triss or Yen. More in general.

I mean there are 4 greater quests with Triss actually.

1. The quest at the beginning with those rats.

2. The meet up with Dijkstra and after that going for Menge.

3. Her "Now or Never" quest.

4. And at the end the fountain.

Comparing this to Yen's screentime its pretty equal. Maybe for some quests with Yen it takes more time to complete them.

Plus some smaller quests like those 2 where Triss can help you with the statues.

In my eyes the problem is that all the Triss content pretty much accumulates in Novigrad and the second part of the game. While Yen is present in the entire game.
At the beginning, Skellige and at the end ofc.

I think we should ask for more interactions and romance in general and stop focus on Triss only. Sounds like 6yo screaming "I WANT MY ICECREAM NOW!".

To say I wont buy the expansions if Triss is not included sounds a bit childish. But yeah there are some points for me that should be a part of the expansion to make it attractive to me. But as already confirmed it will take place at a new city with some old friends. That alone sounds good to me.

If you can combine that with your LI like Triss or Yen, perfect, if not mhh.. maybe next one or after that.

We say more Triss because we are obviously Triss fans however, like others have said we do not object to more content for both women. I personally thought Triss content was very good.

That being said I espected to be able to talk to my LI at Kaer Morhen, or before final battle, I thought Ciri would ask about it and I have the opportunity to explain and get her blessing or support. I also thought I be able to explain my choice with both women present.

I want my witcher buddies to know who I choose to be with and get their approval or not. I got dialogue from Phillipa and nothing from people I consider important.

I think all of us are on the same page, the more Triss comments are just because Triss is our favorite girl. Come on that face and red hair is to die for.

Dandelion writes the Geralt diary. Of Course he knows about everything and everyone.

One of many reason i don't like Ioverth path is: You know Triss have been kidnapped by Niffgard, and then Geralt do what ? Life the curse (understandable) but stay to fight with Saskia and let Triss endure tortue in Loc Muine ? (just tell Zoltan and Dandelion and go save Triss already)

Roche path is more understandable, Geralt know but can't do anything cause Henselt will kill him and Roche if they set sail to Loc Muine (wonder why they choose this one to be Witcher 3 canon )

Actually, no. lol. Damn. My head is spinning. This forehead kissing scene starts right before Philippa rescuing quest. Just this is literally the beginning of this quest. You go up the steps to the Triss room. You talk about Imlerith, give her a kiss, you talk about sorceresses, about Philippa and then you have two options (or three if you didn't save Keira): go along with Triss to the fountain, or Triss goes alone and will be waiting for you there.

I can tell you without any reservations...that doesn't happen at all if you send Triss away and have Geralt romance Yen. Now lay off the Alcohest!!!

The other line is, im pretty sure, her explaining things to geralt. He says something like didn't know you're into medicine or something and she explains how they have secret clinics to heal people and she needs the money and the king of beggars is taking a cut obviously for 'protection' from the witch.hunters etc. I don't remember the.exact lines but I know I heard them when I played. They both happen when you first see her and she's talking to the king of beggars

I was a little late to the dialogues party a few pages back, here's my humble contribution.

This assumes that Triss arrives with Geralt to KM when they bring UMA:

V: Hello Geralt, Triss.
G: Hey.
T: Hello, old man, missed me?
V: Mmh. Happy to see you. Others, maybe not so much.
(look between G&T)
V: Yeah, she is here, and she threw your old bed down the balcony. (looking at UMA) Who is that, you two have a kid already?
G:I'll explain later, we need to discuss him with Yen.
T:Yeah, where is she?
V: She's set up in your old room. (Looks at the two of the more closely). If my instincts don't fail me, she won't be exactly thrilled to see that you two... Ahh not my business... Just do me a favor and have your little reunion outside, the fortress is battered enough as it is.
G: What?
T: (lauhging)Don't worry I'll behave.

(G&T enter the fortress. They look at the wreckage)
G: It was a good bed.
T: True, not that we ever needed one.

(They enter the fortress and enter the room)
Yen is coughing and cursing as the megascope explodes.
T: Hey Yenna, I see that you made yourself comfortable in MY room.
Y: I'm not in the mood for this shit right now.
T: Bed was causing problems with your communications, that why your threw it out?
G: Triss...
Y: Listen little girl, that bed-
T: Was MINE... actually it was OURS-
G: Triss, the fortress.
T: (draws breath) Fine... Yen, how are you?
Y: (takes a moment to compose herself). "Very good" and you?
T: Managing... Do you know where you are?
G: Triss, enough.
T: Not what I meant. Yen, you do realize you are in KM right?
Y: (Glare)
T: If you had ever been here, you would know Witchers live here-
Y: Your point? Or would you rather end up like this megascope here.
T: My point, Yen, is that witchers use BOMBS, some of them with demirium. If I recall, Lambert was quite fond of-
Y: (Yen understands and interrupts her) I see, in that case, won't you be a good little girl and find them? Here (hands the weird device).
T: Sure why not? Geralt, help me out? I can tell she needs to cool off for a bit.

(both leave)
G: Triss, what the fuck was that?
T: Sorry Geralt, got carried away, reminded me too much of old times.
G: Just be civil, we are all here to find Ciri.
T: I know I know and I'm helping. She didn't have to take over my old room though.
G: She's... Whatever, let's find the dammed things.

Follow up

G&T are in the ground floor of KM looking for the disturbance that is causing the explosions in Yen’s megascope, she is holding the Pentequistor.



T: (excited) this way Geralt, I’m getting a stronger signal.
G: Is this the sorceress’ idea of having fun?
T: Come on, don’t be such a bore, this way!
G: Such a wonderful game...
T: Tell you what, how about I put on some dimitirum shackles on me, hide somewhere, and then you use this device to find me. (looking straight into his eyes with a coy smile) When you do... you’ll get your reward... Is that fun for you now?
G: Errrr (looks around, notices the other witchers listening attentively) Triss they are hearing us...
T: (laughing) So... They’ve heard us plenty of times before... didn’t seem to bother you then.
L: Witcher senses man, can’t help it even if we actually tried.
G: (looks at Lambert, then turns to Vesemir who makes a gesture between apologetic and innocent, opening his palms)
T: Found it! (looks at Vesemir)
V: These crates? They have some of Lambert’s dimiritium bombs on them.
G: I’ll have to move these outside, they are making Yen’s megascope explode.
V: Sure-
L: Talking about unexpected and fortunate side effects. Also Triss, if you want I can dismantle some of them and make those shackles for you.
G: Lambert-
L: Oh come on Geralt, don’t tell me you aren’t eager to play already. Think of this as a way for me to return the favor for your help with that issue I had.
G: (sighing) Do what you want.

But to me, it is painfull to read them, because it only remembers me that NONE OF THEM ARE IN THE ACTUAL GAME.

I've replayed this scene, and you are telling the truth. Those lines are here. The problem is you can interrupt them by running too fast to Triss. I guess this is what was happened to me when i saw her for a first time, lol.

Abd clearly they have used the shackles before. Also remind me of Geralt's lines from Witcher 2: "the only time i am blindfold is with a naked sorceress". So did Triss and Geralt love play S&M ....

Hmm I don't really see much need for Roche to comment, but the Letho one you just did was great, actually read it in his voice. 1 problem lol I killed Letho at the end of W2 - he killed Cedric, kidnapped Triss and killed others unecessarily, then there was his arrogant "Im better than you" attitude which really made me wanna beat him lol.

Also, even though I went the Iorveth path, I did kinda owe Roach so kingslayer had to die, even if he did take care of Yen for a bit.


P.S. I think Letho would call Geralt "Wolf" and not by his name. Also think he would call Triss "Merigold"
