Ok guys great discussion going on here but this a topic about the inconsistencies of the Triss romance not about who Yen slept with, so lets gently ease our way back to the matter at hand! :)

Wow the topic went straight down the rabbit hole.

Yes,but in the books Yen is the only main love interest.I can't belive, that some people question it.

However wonderful that is, this forum was started for the game and inconsistancies on how Triss was handled if I'm not mistaken. So can we all agree to disagree and get back on topic before this forum get too far off topic or worse turns into an arguement about the book vs the game.

I see him. Maybe he will say something about our ideas in the list after reading it on page one. Fingers cross

I mean instead of searching for her in White Orchard you could actually find her earlier and have a bit of time to get to know her. I still think Triss needs more content later in the game, I just think that no one gets to know either girl before you decide who you want to romance. So if you had Now or Never after Brother in Arms (Maybe Triss doesn't mention she's getting the mages out yet) and The Last Wish during the same time (Some how) it would have been better.

Yeah I get your point on this but to do it right CDPR should've push back the romance choice later in the game like in KM (some suggested even later like on the boat before last fight but I think it's too late to enjoy some time with your love interest). Not sure adding scene in the first part of the game will do the job nicely as there's already lots of content in it.

Yes, even I didn't liked Yen as LI in books, but she is there the one for Geralt, but in games I've got choose Triss for him.
In books I didn't liked nor Triss, because she wasn't properly written, as she is in games, nor Yen, because of her character and temper, and how she treat everyone. I mean as LI for Geralt. But as mother for Ciri there is no one better that Yen. And I liked Triss as sister to Ciri.
I'm glad that Geralt in my Witcher world is and will be with Triss.

How about this thread goes over the 5 points listed in the OP? How could they be effectively implemented? What are the potential complications and inconsistencies that could arise? The considerations that CDPR would need to account for if they did decided to look into it?

That's my suggestion at least :)

Topic : I don't understand one part of the Triss romance. You asked her to stay with Geralt but she's gone anyway. Why doesn't she just follow the witcher to Skellige?

Very poorly thought out:
1) If you ask her to stay, she disappears from the game only to turn up at Kaer Morhen only at a specific time
2)If you tell her to go save herself to Kovir, she disappears from the game only to turn up at Kaer Morhen only at a specific time

Spot the difference.

Don't get me wrong but it feels like trading 1 Yenn's bang scene for 1 Triss bang scene. That's horrible.

Nothing differ if You choose Triss as LI for Geralt or Yen, it's so disappointing.

Very good question, I bought this is up too a few hundred pages ago (it's just a few weeks, but that's how fast the thread goes).

Even proposed a Triss in skeligue arc. The thing is though, due to the open world nature of the game, you can do skelligue before novigrad and really no character moves from his place till uma is brought to KM. That's why Lambert and Yen quests fail, because they are no longer available.

Imo they should have just given her a task, like research the phylactery or go spy on the crones (and then get cought up with Tamara or the witch hunger dude) interactions you find as you pick her up when you collect UMA in Velen.

Oh u remind me about something. Why does Yennefer performs trial of grasses? It doesn't make any sense because Triss was closer to witchers than her and she should know more about things like that...

The witchers didn't tell Triss anything about the Trail of Grasses. Also,Yen is a much more powerful and experienced sorceress, than Triss.

Source or didn't happen.

Triss's thoughts from Blood of Elves:
It’s clear, she suddenly thought, feeling a passionate arousal of an entirely different nature. It’s obvious. They want to mutate the child, subject her to the Trial of Grasses and Changes, but they don’t know how to do it. Vesemir was the only witcher left from the previous generation, and he was only a fencing instructor. The Laboratorium, hidden in the vaults of Kaer Morhen, with its dusty demi-johns of elixirs, the alembics, ovens and retorts… None of the witchers knew how to use them. The mutagenic elixirs had been concocted by some renegade wizard in the distant past and then perfected over the years by the wizard’s successors, who had, over the years, magically controlled the process of Changes to which children were subjected. And at a vital moment the chain had snapped. There was no more magical knowledge or power. The witchers had the herbs and Grasses, they had the Laboratorium. They knew the recipe. But they had no wizard.
Who knows, she thought, perhaps they have tried?Have they given children concoctions prepared without the use of magic?
She shuddered at the thought of what might have happened to those children.
And now they want to mutate the girl but can’t. And that might mean… They may ask me to help. And then I’ll see something no living wizard has seen, I’ll learn something no living wizard has learned. Their famous Grasses and herbs, the secret virus cultures, the renowned, mysterious recipes…
And I will be the one to give the child a number of elixirs, who will watch the Changes of mutation, who will watch, with my own eyes…
Watch the ashen-haired child die.
Oh, no. Triss shuddered again. Never. Not at such a price.
