And Triss actually said that to Ciri:
“Ha! So let’s get the sleigh.”
“We will. But let me finish applying my make-up.”
“And who are you putting make-up on for, exactly?”
“Myself. A woman accentuates her beauty for her own self-esteem.”
“Hmmm… Do you know what? I feel pretty poorly too. Don’t laugh, Triss!”

I remember that. It was back in Kaer Morhen when she was teaching her the elder language.

So as i play the game now, what i realised is that Geralt is fighting for Ciri more so then himself, and at that point, he isn't fighting for his future with Triss but rather the present with Ciri - that is fine, except he should be fighting for both. What i mean is that once you romance a character in the game, that is it, in that it barely affects Geralt for the rest of the game, it is like once Geralt has that scene with Triss, it is put into a safe where the lock/combination can't be changed (unless if you romance both), so you get a situation where the relationship is there but not expanded on or giving Geralt the motivation to continue his fight.

I am not trying to change this view but add...

I think even if Geralt is trying to focus on Ciri, selflessly in fact, he SHOULD have to face Triss and explain it. Triss is a STRONG women but, there is a history with Geralt somehow always sliding back and away from her. How could she not be a little (i hesitate to use insecure) reluctant to believe this won't end up just like 6 months ago.

Triss might try to get close and Geralt would have to call her down...the hurt he sees in her face would wash over him and cool his head. Stepping in close he would take Triss and whisper to her:

"I'm sorry, right now I have to focus on Ciri...I promise, when this is over and she is safe, you won't have to wonder where I am or what I am thinking ever again."

Something like that would then explain why they share so many glances or looks...and so (frustratingly) few words in the last Act.

Yeah i don't mind the focus being on Ciri, but if we are looking at this from a game pov, we don't see anything and in the end we start making our own fanfiction/headcanon because Geralt is way too preoccupied with Ciri, not that in itself is a problem but there is no time or space for Geralt to interact with the other special lady in his life. He doesn't reassure her (like you described), but Triss shouldn't feel like she is playing second fiddle, when the opportunities for Geralt to be closer to her are very obvious. I kind of almost looked at it like Triss is accepting defeat in that she has Geralt and has a future with him, but can never really get close to him or have him open up to her the way she wanted.

Yet in those scenes in Novigrad, Geralt is more than willing to open up and get close to Triss, so then we get to a point where Geralt forgets about his relationship with Triss and puts it 'on-hold' and Triss comes to the same conclusion and before long, the game ends.......

Geralt: Hey Triss, sorry we haven't had much time lately
Triss: It is fine, lets make sure Ciri is safe, and then come back to me
Geralt: When this is all over, we will have our happy ending in Kovir
Triss: I look forward to it....when it is all over

(Geralt gives her a kiss, with Triss returning the warm smile she once held for Geralt back at the lighthouse)....and that would of been a quick scene reassuring Triss about what their future together means for Geralt.

And there would be more than that, but it is about spacing out these kind of interactions that show that the love of Geralt's life is always in the picture and not a once off thing that you see every 40 or so hours. Having quick scene spaced out wouldn't of detracted from the main storyline and it would help to strengthen what Geralt is fighting for.....because in the back of his mind, he know that there is a good life waiting for him if he gets through all of this.

I would have to disagree, the only reason Triss is absent is because the devs didn't bother to include content for her (same goes for Yen, Dandelion, Zoltan outside of their quests), not because of some time constrains or sense of urgency in his quest to find/protect Ciri. I mean, all the while Ciri is danger, we get to do 30 contracts, 50 sidequests, play Gwent everywhere, horse racing, fist fighting, POI exploring and many other secondary activities. I'm not against them at all, I enjoy the variety in things to do. I'm saying the pace is quite relaxed and there's are plenty of opportunities to interact with main characters.

If Geralt has time to help 100s of random people out with minor monster problems then he should have time to talk and have romantic interactions with Triss. Saying that he's focusing on Ciri is not a valid reason for there to be barely any interactions with Triss.

I'm really hoping there is a "conspiracy" going on. Anyone on CDPR staff (Anyone who chose Triss) and played the game before the release would've noticed and felt exactly the same way we do.

There is no way that got past them.

However, I don't want to jinx it... So, let's keep the "conspiracy theory" a secret for now. *Wink Wink*

They may get upset that we saw through their plans and decided to "change" them.

It's much more simple that than. If Geralt has enough time to meditate for days on end, and enough time to visit every brothel Temeria. He should have enough time to interact with Triss more than he does with random prostitutes.

Yeah the devs didn't include more content for the major characters, but you are speaking about what Geralt can do on the side from the main quests. I got no problem with all the side activities, they were a lot of fun, but if you are putting yourself in Geralt's boots, then the interaction with all the other characters aside from Ciri would seem like they are just there to help without actually being important to Geralt. You have this situation where the devs don't allow more interaction with other characters because the main storyline becomes somewhat more linear, now obviously you get plenty of chances to interact with many characters when trying to find Ciri, and the pacing is fine and keeps steady but all the secondary interactions with characters becomes less prevalent towards the end. Besides if Geralt does have the time to do all those secondary activites, then those opportunities in the last third to have a quick scene/interaction could and should of been added by the devs -just my opinion of course, but we are looking at the last third from a lack of storyline expansion from Geralt's pov.

sigh.... bro... keep saying you dont care about sex scenes and they wont add any.... they should add at least one more for triss... its only fair cos yen has 2....i care about sex scenes and they should add them to the appropriate moment s....adding sex scenes is easier than adding dialogue in 7 different langs/

He was able to put what I was trying to say in a very clear and concise way.

The way the game is presented to us, using any time constrains as a plot device, unless it's within the limits of a quest itself, is completely absurd and requires a lot of suspension of disbelief. Same goes for when Yen leaves in a hurry after our brief encounter in Vizima.
