Just a post about possible dialogue options for certain interactions in the game. It isn't that great (and i am sure someone can do much better), but just wanted to give it a quick shot. Apologies for the long post.

Lambert: Speaking of old friends, ploughing and Novigrad, how's Triss?

Option 1: Thought we were talking about UMA (Stays the same)
Option 2: She is fine, let's leave it at that (same as Triss is managing dialogue)
Option 3: She was in a rough spot, but now she is fine and is meeting us here (Geralt then explains that she is coming here because of him)

Yen getting angry at Geralt

Option 1: I am sorry (Stays the same)
Option 2: Told you already, i lost my memory (Stays the same)
Option 3: I care about her deeply (Geralt then explains that Triss is the one he loves, although would assure Yen that he still cared for her)

Last Wish conclusion (if Triss was romanced previously)

Option 1: I feel the same way (Stays the same, Geralt romances Yen)
Option 2: I have feelings for someone else (Geralt would let Yen down easy letting her know that his future is with Triss now)

Cerys talking about Yen (dialogue between them initiated)

Option 1: Yen doesn't control me (Geralt brushes off Cerys taunts)
Option 2: I care about Yen deeply and don't want to anger her (Geralt explains that he is use to it)
Option 3: I don't need her permission because i am with someone else now (Geralt explains how he is with Triss)

A chance to talk to Triss before the final mission (at the tent)

Option 1: Be careful Triss (Triss would reply the same and Geralt can give Triss a kiss)
Option 2: Are you ready? (Triss would remind Geralt about Kovir as motivation to get through the battle)
Option 3: We must protect Ciri at all costs (Triss would explain about protecting Ciri and then discussing their future later)

Triss mentions at the Chameleon to Geralt about Yen's kiss

Option 1: It was an accident (Geralt explains that Yen was overjoyed at Ciri's return)
Option 2: You are the only one i want (Geralt reassures Triss about them together, leads to a hug or a kiss)
Option 3: It was for old times sake (Geralt tries to avoid the question)

Ciri talking to Geralt about Yen and Triss after Imlerith and the Crones (dialogue options appears)

Option 1: I am with Triss now (Geralt would gently explain what he has been through with Triss)
Option 2: Yen and I aren't a couple anymore (doesn't mention Triss but explains that Yen and him was all in the past)
Option 3: I have too many women in my life (Sarcastic comment, Geralt attempts to end the conversation)

Geralt at Kaer Morhen explaining to Lambert and Eskel about him and Yen breaking up (after they ask if he wants to talk about it)

Option 1: Yen and I decided to be friends (doesn't mention Triss but explains he and Yen aren't a couple anymore)
Option 2: I chose someone else (Geralt says this with a reply from Lambert saying Triss? with Geralt replying Yes)
Option 3: I don't want to talk about it (Geralt ends the conversation there)

In the books, he's talking much, and every dialogue is masterpiece. He's better than Letho there. In TW3 he... is.

I think you're mistaking Imlerith for Ereden.

I just want "small additions and tweaks" in Eredin's dialogues. He is fascinating in the books.

That would've been nice. It's a small issue that I've noticed. TW games expects everyone to have read the books (If you actually want to enjoy the game and understand what's going on most of the time) and consider their knowledge of the events that happen in them enough to exclude some of those characters history from being added to the games.

I think we get an extra conversation with him during the final battle in TW3 if we let him keep Jacques de Aldersberg's soul (Alvin) from TW1.

I've never been able to confirm it though.

I know, i struggled to think of something ok....

Option 1: Well (leads to a discussion about wells)
Option 2: Well (leads to a discussion about wells)
Option 3: Well (leads to a discussion about wells)

Nah i am joking sorry...

Option 1: How are you Triss (leads to an awkward smile between the two, with Triss saying she is fine, not much words said but more facial expressions)
Option 2: We are near the end (Geralt and Triss talk about the wild hunt and what awaits them, leads to a couple of quick lines about their future in Kovir)
Option 3: Sure you don't want to come with me to find the Sunstone? (leads to Triss saying "maybe some other time", with a quick smile from both)

Triss definitely needs some non romance dialogue as well, it would be just as stupid as before if Triss only had dialogue on the boat and at the tents if you romanced her. Considering how much they've been through and how long they've known each other, there should be a friendship goodbye.

Same goes for Yen too.

Just to let everyone know. We pay very close attention to everything you guys write in this thread. We will be addressing this situation by adding/changing some dialogue stuff in the future - more info on this will come later so pardon my scarce input for the time being. This should help with the immersion. And once again, thank you all for your valuable feedback.

Definitely, there is always this sense of guilt in the Triss romance that never goes away. At least at the end, when your love for her is clear a big smile is needed.

Agreed, i was writing some dialogue options based on Triss being romanced, but if the player didn't romance Triss then you could just remove certain things such as you can still ask Triss how she is and she wouldn't smile or saying "we are near the end" would remove the lines about Kovir (if she wasn't romanced), so you kind of fill in the blanks yourself. Triss should have more dialogue than the boats and the tent, i don't know how CDPR would implement but i trust they would find a way. Of course there needs to be a better conclusion for Triss rather than just hearing her say "good luck", so their should be a proper goodbye.

To sum it up:

Dialogue at KM, and possibly the kiss with Yen becomes an hug if you romanced Triss or some line of dialogue to explain the kiss.

Dialogue on the boat and maybe give her back the Rose of Remembrance.

One last scene in the tent, before last battle instead of the cold "Good luck "

Agree with that?

Since Marcin has updated you a little, I'd like to add a bit to that, since apparently some people seem to believe this particular issue is getting preferential treatment.

Here is the thing. The major thing. I know it's gonna be a shock to some but...we are not perfect. (LEGASP!!!!!)

The biggest issue that we as a team identified with the Triss situation is that the current implementation does not really represent the very core design philosophy we hold dear. Namely, that your choices carry consequences and those consequences WILL present themselves to you.

As it has been stated in the opening thread, the consequences of choosing Triss are not adequately represented. This was something that was brought to our attention by this thread. We went back and looked at it again and realized that yes, this is indeed an inconsistency and one that deserves our attention. So we sat down, took our notes from your suggestions and checked what is viable to do. The result of that is what you will eventually see.

To the people who are somehow annoyed that we will correct the inconsistent consequences that are currently present in the Triss romance I say this: Please understand that this is not a case of us changing something simply because fans want it. This is because fans alerted us to something which we, internally, discussed (hence the long silence in between replies) and eventually agreed that it did not fit our core philosophy of including consequences to the choices the player can make.

In any case, I hope this clears things up a bit and puts a rest to the infighting about which issue deserves what kind of attention.

Now, off to work!

Sounds good to me, I would be satisfied even with just the last scene in the tent, but whatever they decide to add is fine by me.

@GingerEffect: makes perfect sense & is one of the main reason why people are so passionate of the work you guys have put into these games, characters and stories. Good luck with your work guys! We eagerly await to see what you've cooked up ! One more thing (off-topic for this thread but still relevant to the game though): have CDPR discussed / considered doing something about the Wild Hunt please? ..the game needs more Wild Hunt..

Thanks a lot for the explanations, I have to say that when I found this topic, I was very "pissed off" at the game, but I had very little faith about an official response / statement / acknowledgement from the devs, and boy am I glad to be wrong :rly?:

Thanks again, and good work :listen:
