The Triss content and the inconsistency of our romance's choice

She was I still don't get why they decided to turn her into a Yen rip off in the first game

She wasn't entirely like Yen,though.In the prologue Triss(aside from her appearance,she looks more like Lytta Neyd)and her interactions with the witchers were spot on,but in act 3 she turned into a weird mix of Triss,Yen and Fringilla.She even quoted Philippa several times.As i said an abomination.
In TW2 and TW3 she's much closer to the books,but still has an appearance of Lytta Neyd,which irritates me to this day.

this is from the sword of destiny trailer and never actually happens in the game

this is either cut from the game or a censored version from the tower scene but still it does not look anything like it.....

Yeah but TW2 was a very short game compared to TW3 and at least there was a good reason for her absence as opposed to TW3 where its just lazy writing

Its not generous at all, Triss has been the most important character in the first two games apart from Geralt
The books don't count, it doesn't matter that she was a teritary character there

What? The games are based on the books. Most of the secondary characters come from the books. The entire backstory comes from the books. The third game especially ties into the books. Saying the books do not matter or count is ridiculous. Triss is not a big character because she is unimportant to the overall story. That is why she doesn't have a huge role, a lot of dialogue, ect ect.

Wow this forum layout had me trying to clean my screen for a full minute before I tried scrolling down and embarrassing myself haha.

But on topic, I think W3 does a good job at developing Triss character but the issue I have with it is she plays basically no relevance to the plot and has very little screen time. I think I saw more of her in Witcher 2 and that game was about 10-15x shorter than this one.

Disagree. Her role in TW2 is better as it actually makes sense, the portion she's absent is firmly part of the plot and when she is there she has plenty to say. In TW3 she disappears for a whole section for no reason and can't even be acknowledged and is pretty much seen but not heard for the last section. Even the strongest characters at times need to be rescued and that doesn't make her a damsel unless it is all she is. Over the course of the games we've seen her be bad ass too.

She was much more badass in TW3.In TW2 she failed to hit Iorveth with a lighting bolt and passed out from creating a barrier.And since i haven't romanced Triss,her disappearance made perfect sense in my playthrough.

Maybe this will be a part of the enhanced edition? If something like that is planned.

Btw: Will there be some more scenes with Triss after helping her to get Phillipa? And after the quest with another stature?

Thanks , that is what i was thinking the environment seems the same but the thing is even censored the two versions are very much different.
I wonder if the censored one is actually better. May have to buy a middle east copy lol

She protects everyone using a barrier which tires her out just as it does Kiera in this game. There's nothing wrong with mixing up bad ass with opportunities to see her vulnerable. So yeah i'm very happy she was bad ass in TW3 for contrast but i wouldn't trade the moment of vulnerability where you rescue her for the world.

If you don't romance her yeah her absence makes sense and her return based on Yen asking her makes sense, Yen romance getting a tonne of content and Yen assaulting geralt with a passionate kiss makes sense. If you've declared love for Triss however, she's said she's going to Kaer Morhen, she's not there, her romance can't be reacted /referenced/defended despite opportunities, she only turns up because Yen invites her, then Yen who'd been dumped plants a pasionate kiss on her man to little reaction you aren't going to be happy with her bizarre poorly handled absence.

Sorry there are no more Triss scenes after completing Phillipa's quest .

There were just sooo many situations for her and Geralt to go more deep with conversations and all what happend to her before W3.
And also the rose and all that stuff. If you give her the earring she blocks with saying "good old days" well you should have an option to say "Triss.. lets talk about them I dont want them to become old days!"

They do not stand on their own. They literally would not exist without the books.

I do not believe it is censored. Triss's expressions are not very different from Keira's and Keira's scene was not censored so i don't really see the point for them censoring it. I think it is a middle east censored version . Now if the whole scene was changed idk.

Kiera swooned just the same, the only difference was in Triss situation they were still in danger so Roche had to fireman her.
We don't know the relative strengths of the barriers as they had to deal with different threats.
Even if i was to accept she has less stamina than Kiera she's still badass.

When Yennefer was injured at the end of Lady of the Lake, and wanted Triss to teleport them away.

Yen thought it could kill 5. It 'massacred 200'.

And her fireballs were...pretty damn good.
