The Underlying Events of the Witcher World

There is a 120+ reply thread titled Elven Nihilism in which fans of the Witcher lore pieced together a pretty coherent and evidence backed timeline of the bigger picture behind the Witcher saga. The thread has been inactive for over two weeks (save my two enthusiastic posts), but I think the feat is tremendously interesting and deserves its own thread. So, I'm posting a summary of it here.

WARNING: I'm not going to count, but you can safely the assume the following contains spoilers for everything, including the nature and history of the Wild Hunt, the identity of its King, what might be in TW3 and why, and everything else of consequence. If you're reading the novels or just don't want to know, DO NOT READ.

Fascinating. Certainly sounds like a convincing basis for future Witcher games! I never read through the whole Elven Nihilism thread, but this is a very nice summary. [SPOILER} Where does the elven leader of the Wild Hunt fit into this scenario?

The King of the Wild Hunt is Eredin, the commander of the Aen Elle cavalry. He seeks the Elder Blood on behalf of his king, Auberon.

Since you made the effort of opening a new thread, I'll reply you here. Some people stated a few more corrections for the summary in Elven Nihilism, by the way.

The wiki states pretty clearly that he did and how he did it.

"He died before he was able to impregnate Ciri. He was killed, possibly unwittingly though likely not, from an overdose of an aphrodisiac or performance enhancer supplied by Eredin Bréacc Glas who viewed himself as a better potential ruler."

This is what happened, yes. The intentions of Eredin are what is not clear. While he 'killed' Auberon through the aphrodisiac (it's all very vague, really. Sapkowski HATES being explicit :( I thought maybe he had been deceived by someone unknown, the aphrodisiac being actually poison. Just speculation.), whether he did it intentionally or not is left entirely to the reader's interpretation.

You see, he had the opportunity of sleeping with Ciri, thus fathering the child (she found Eredin incredibly attractive) and didn't even try to seduce her at the time. Instead he offered her the aphrodisiac, which she rejected. Then Auberon died, Ciri escaped, yadda yadda, and this exchange happened. As always, translation is mine from spanish edition, my English is poor, etc:

Eredin: Let's go back, Zireael [she's trying to escape Tir Na Lia]. Auberon is waiting for you. This night he's gonna be in perfect shape, full of vigor, I assure you [he is obviously thinking about the aphrodisiac].
Ciri: No way/Fuck you. He overdid with that invigorating medicine. The medicine you gave him. [note: we don't see Eredin delivering the remedy. Ciri assumes it that way.] Could it be that it was not invigorating, after all?
Eredin: What are you talking about?
Ciri: He's dead.
"He suffered a strong, surprised shock. [...]".

So... That wiki explanation about Eredin wanting a coup d'etat and all is coherent, plausible even, but assuming it true is a bit bold, in my opinion.
