The water physics are good.....

+
Physics are there for swimming, diving etc. but it appears there's no visual effects applied with objects like bullets hitting water. Nothing game breaking and most of us didn't even notice as we don't shoot or throw grenades to water. Will be fixed.

First thought when I saw this ingame:
As pc gamer, fear this is one more thing that was just left to be as devs fear what performance impact it could have on consoles..

And it made me sad as it's not valid reason these days...

if it is not for swimming then why the game give us tons of mini breathers :)

Gotta feed the console crowd, Pc players get pushed to the back of the Bus.

I see I perhaps wasn't clear. Swimming and diving works, that's physical part of it. As a side note, Commando perk also works but is redundant, as there's only one mission I found it useful and even then only if you want to ghost that mission.

What comes to visuals, like ripples objects make when they hit water, those aren't implemented, yet at least.

It is like all the talent at CDPR had quit and they had to hire anyone they could get at the last minute to try and make this terrible disappointment ready for release.

Such a letdown compared to W3 ... hell even W1+2 were more interactive with better AI. (maybe because they actually had some AI)

but does it work lol, most of the perks do not.
i think it works (honestly im not even sure as i have ALMOST NEVER given a reason to go underwater or in the water in general) but its a useless perk.

i really ask myself what their thoughts were when adding that perk..

Perk tree dev branched from UI dev branch

??????? branched from environment dev branch....

And when merging the branches ....
Yeah, I have been on small projects and this is always chaos, imagine what it must be for a dev group which is under immense amount of time pressure and horrible management....
brrrrrr.....

There's much still to do in the game. I think during the initial design stages I imagine they would have been told there was some water based content. So the guy doing the consumables added a under water breathing thing and the guy doing the perks included a water based perk. These things could have probably been ironed out around the water cooler where the devs chatted to one another for but for some reason they weren't.

Now the looming deadline approaches and when prioritizing the list of things to do, given the amount of water based content, they probably felt that their time was best spent elsewhere.

I hope they add these touches and it's not hard to envisage a water based DLC at some point in the future given the background of the game.

there are fire hydrants. a few days ago I destroyed one with my vehicle. then I went through the waterspout and... nothing, just like a wall. Yes, the effects of fluids in the game are absolutely outdated compared to other games, yet aged now.

Now Cyberpunk has a strong "not the main focus of the game" defense going on, but in a few years we will all look back and be able to judge the game for what it really is. Not being able to interact with water is so basic, I just can't understand how it was completely forgotten during many, many years of **engine** development. It's not even about the game itself as the latest iteration of Red Engine will fuel future games like The Witcher 4 and alike!

I don't know how they will implement Ray Tracing to The Witcher 3 but imagine trying to make a full conversion of the game to Cyberpunk engine.
