While I don't mind losing, it is frustrating as heck to have played over 20 matches and not won a SINGLE match. I know there's a level of learning your cards, strategy, etc., but sometimes it feels like the skill - and decks - of the players I'm up against is MUCH higher than their stats would indicate. Sometimes they have 2-3 more cards left in their hand at the end of the turn, too. How does THAT happen?

Something is off if you are losing that much. Unfortunately, I canāt offer advice without a lot more information.
How long have you been playing?
How large is your card collection?
Are you playing ranked games? At what rank?
What deck or decks are you playing (you could just list leader and major cards)?
Can you briefly describe what you are losing to?
What time of day do you tend to play?
Based upon my experience, even with relatively poor decks (because you donāt own competitive cards), you should be able to win about 20% of matches. If you donāt achieve this, there should be ways to improve the situation.

1. Just a couple of weeks
2. Not sure - the starter deck with a few from crates swapped in
3. I just play whatever that first option is - I ASSUME it's ranked, but I can't be sure - the game finds an opponent that's logged in - looking at the numbers in the upper corners they are always about the same as mine
4. the green one and I think I have the elven dead-eye as the leader (I know it's not super popular)
5. I've lost to everything - including another green deck once.
6. fairly late at night (central time) on weekends
As I said, it's not losing in and of itself that bugs me. (It's a good way to learn.) It's that I've lost every single match (and it is at least 20), so clearly I'm learning nothing.

Itās been 3 years since I started playing and a lot has changed ā including the starter deck. When I started, I was able to progress quite far with just a starter deck. But newer cards have become substantially stronger, and there are probably a lower proportion of beginners now.
tried playing a Scoiaātael (green) starter deck on practice mode (against human opponents) and I believe it will be virtually impossible to win without better cards. Even against obviously weak play, I could not compete.
Ranked play, in theory, does better at matching you against equivalently equipped opponents, but at this point in the game cycle, I suspect it is little better. A lot of experienced players (myself included) have slipped in rank down to low levels (by not playing ranked matches), but still retain their experience (and decks). Others may have started second accounts to recreate starting from scratch (but are expert players). I was able to win the first ranked game I played (at rank 25) with the starter deck, but I think I hit another player with little more than a starter deck and a lot less experience.
Can you check your rank? If you click your name, you will call up information about yourself. Rank is the center of threes scores. I can think of three possibilities depending upon your rank.
The first (it happened to me) is that you have already advanced to the point where other players at your rank simply have cards so much better than yours that you have no chance.
The second is that I got lucky on my test game, and starter decks have no chance ā even at rank 25.
The third is that you are not playing well.
If it is one of the first two, my advice would focus around how best to improve your card collection. Otherwise I should advise on how to best learn better play.
Let me know your rank, and I will give more specific suggestions.
The best way to improve card collection is to optimize use of your rewards (keys) to get useful cards to be able to win more to garner more rewards, ā¦
To improve play, it is probably easiest to find some good tutorials. I can give suggestions (though they will be dated) if you would like.

I'm down with some tutorials. The in-game one was fine, but I haven't won any in training mode.
It appears my rank is 30.
How can you tell useful cards from less useful ones? What is the best way to optimize the keys for cards?
I fully acknowledge there is likely a lack of skill on my part, so maybe getting my behind handed to me on a plate time and time again will eventually pay off.

At rank 30, you should only be facing other beginners (the lowest rank an advanced player could drop to is 25). You could encounter players who spend real money to get better cards, but most opponents should be fairly equal to you.
Even with bad play, I would think you should win 10 to 20%. That suggests to me that you are missing some core concept ā the issue is figuring out what that would be.
The most obvious would be not understanding passing. You do realize you donāt have to play out all your cards in rounds 1 and 2? If you get way behind (or way ahead) in points, you should pass rather than wasting cards when you canāt reasonably catch up (or when you wonāt need them).
The second obvious issue is understanding numbers printed on the cards. The number in the diamond in the upper left is āpowerā and represents the number of points the card provides. The number in the square on the lower right is āprovisionsā (the cost of including the card in your deck). If there is a number in a shield on the upper right, that is armor (damage a unit can absorb before losing power points). Generally, you want to play enough power to keep pace with your opponent. Too many points tends to waste good cards you may want later. Too few points could force you to play extra cards that you would rather keep for later.
If neither of these were an issue, then I believe there is still a major issue ā probably something simple ā that youāve overlooked. Finding what is would be is important. I would answer your question in my next post.

To identify usefulness of cards (amongst those you already own), at your level, it is all about points (which come from units power): points you can get and power you can deny your opponent. The most useful cards are those that score the most points.
For example, let me rank cards in Scoiaātaelās starting deck. Often points depend upon conditions -- in these cases, I use my best judgment as to what is typical. Sometimes, a card improves the power of another card -- in this case, you must decide which card to credit with the points -- but it is important to only count the points once. I will illustrate my reasoning with a few examples.
Geraly of Rivia is worth 12 points -- 3 for his own power and 9 for the enemy he destroys. Note -- I assume he can find a 9 point enemy to destroy, otherwise is is worth a pathetic 3 points. He could be worth more if he destroys a unit worth more than 9 points, but I also assume this does not happen. However, if my opponent is not playing a deck that I think will produce a 9 point card, I will mulligan Geralt because 3 points is very bad.
Dunca plays for four points. If she stays on the board another 4 rounds, she will boost units by 1 four times, then her order could be used for another 3 points damage. This totals 11 points
Frieixenet has 5 power but spawns a 2 power Young Dryad immediately (be sure to play him ranged row). Then every 4 turns, he will produce another Young Dryad. Moreover, every time I play a nature card (there are 4 in the starter deck -- two copies of Circle of life and two of Dryad's Caress), each Young Dryad will add one point to a spawned Wandering Treant. To obtain a value, I will assume that Freixenet spawns 2 Young Dryad, and that the first one (and only the first) boosts one Wandering Treant). That makes Freixenet worth 10 points (5 + 2 + 2 + 1)..
Sirissa plays for 4 points. But she does 2 points of damage, and boosts a unit for another 2. Finally, she has harmony -- a trait that could boost her further whenever you play a Scoia'tael unit with tag (elf, dwarf, dryad, etc.) different than any other friendly unit on the board. Unfortunately, almos all the Scoia'tael units are dryads like Sirissa. Harmony can only be triggered a maximum of 3 times, and I figure once is most likely. Her estimated points is 9 (4 + 2 + 2 +1)
Surrender only damages opponents -- but it first strips away armor, then it hits every unit in an enemy row. for 2 points. This can vary, but I will estimate it hits an average of 4 units for a total of 8 points.
My evaluation is as follows:
Geralt of Rivia: 12- (could be worth as little as 3)
Dunca: 11
Freixenet: 10
Sirissa: 9
Ida Emean aep Sivney: 9
Dryad Enchantress: 7+ (don't always expect 4 rounds of vitality.
DuenCanell Guardian: 7
Abandoned Girl: 7
Dryad Grove keeper: 7- (requires playing both copies in same round)
Dorregary: 6+ (he may prevent opponent points)
Circle of Life: 6 (counts leader's symbiosis point)
Alzur's Thunder: 5+ (may prevent opponent points)
Trained Hawk: 5+ (could also score Harmony)
If you want to evaluate cards for the sake of crafting them, things get more complex. You must consider the provision cost (you cannot afford to run only expensive cards). You should also consider versatility -- how much the card is worth when you play other decks.

Regarding the best use of resources:
I suggest spending gold exclusively on kegs to get a better card collection. But you have a choice of kegs. For many players, focusing on one faction is the quickest way to get a good deck, but it significantly restricts what you can play. To focus on one faction, get the faction specific kegs. If you want to pursue a generalist approach (you will be slower getting a good deck, but you will be able to use any faction at any time), I recommend you choose the available expansion specific kegs (Year of the Cursed Toad, Price of Power, Master Mirror). These barrels are from the newer expansions -- and each successive expansion has tended to have better cards. You will get a higher concentration of good cards from these barrels than you will from the ultimate kegs. You will eventually start to get a lot of duplicate cards; I wouldn't worry about duplicate common and rare cards (marked by little white and blue triangles, resp.) cards, although you could switch to a different expansion if that bothers you. For sure switch after you have already obtained most of the epic and legendary cards (red and yellow triangles).
You can also use scraps to craft specific, highly desired cards. I suggest you only use scraps to craft legendary (marked with a little gold triangle) cards -- these are most expensive, but they are by far the most influential cards and they are hardest to get from kegs.
The last useful resource (for improving deck collection) is reward keys. Normally, I recommend new players go to the last (rightmost tab) on the reward page and follow the tree of their favorite faction. That tree has several useful cards you can claim at far less cost than through other methods. However, it used to be that you needed to win matches to claim several nodes on these trees; I don't know if that is still true. (At some point, the developers changed that type of node in all seasonal trees, but I don't know whether they did for these card trees and I can't check as I have already completed them.) If nodes require wins to claim the reward, that is not the right choice until you can start to get a decent win rate -- 20-30%. As an alternative, I suggest simply accumulating keys until we figure out why you can't seem to win. If you need an infusion of resources to get cards for a viable deck, claim nodes leading to scrolls (story nodes). They tend to give the most usable resources. Once you have claimed all scrolls from a given tree, move to another tree -- you can always come back to finish the tree, but grabbing all scrolls from multiple trees will give you the most resources the fastest. You mainly want gold and scraps. Meteorite powder is not useful in getting more cards.
I'm a Cyberpunk 2077 player, but I also have in mind to start playing from the first The Witcher up to the newer ones.
I joined GOG at the beginning of the last year, and one thing I really complain about are the forums, which dates back to 2008 and aren't user friendly at all: why not using these ones? They seem to be really well done, with integrated images, proper text formatting and all.
For Witcher 3**
Hi all - is there still no fix for alternate outfits (specifically Triss) for the Blood and Wine expansions?? Itās been 6+ years that people have been posting and wanting this update for consoles (pc has nexus mod for it). Really wanted to use the DLC outfit for BaW on my first play through seeing the differences with Triss v Yennefer.
Hi there,
recently I bought a Witcher Mega Construx set with griffin and Corvo Bianco. I really enjoyed it and I wonder if there are any plans of further cooperation with Mega Construx and if more sets are coming. Does anyone know something in this matter or knows where to ask about it?
hello,I've been playing 2077 since its released.Since 1.61 my game will certainly freeze/stuck at any moment after minutes,it didn't crash.I'v tried any methods(new game, redownload the game.ex) but no way to fix it,and haveing no problem playing any other game.I'll be really thanks if anyone can help me. I'm using AMD Ryzen 7 5600 processor, GTX 3080 video card.

got the code:
Error reason: Assert
Expression: <Unknown>
Message: Gpu Crash for unknown reasons! Callstack here is probably irrelevant. Check if Breadcrumbs or Aftermath logged anything useful.
File: E:\R6.Release\dev\src\common\gpuApi\src\dx12\gpuApiDX12Error.cpp(42).
That's a lot of info! (I'll be keeping this window open, for sure - thank you!)
Passing was a concept I did grasp, although I may have miscalculated a couple of times.
Early on I wasn't figuring out when certain abilities could be used or how to use them. For example, a card that can do 3 damage but you have to wait a turn.
At this stage, I think sussing out the best point advantages and workings of the cards. I've learned how to change up cards in my deck and thanks to this I should be able to make more informed choices. I'll keep at it! (I've been swamped with work and family obligations since your most recent assistance.)
Hi ya'll. So just to make everything super clear here, I have found an issue with photo mode in Cyberpunk 2077 after update 1.62 so I started googling it and a steam thread came up, I have clicked on it and I noticed huge red notification "You have been permanently banned from posting at this thread by a moderator. Reason - Piracy... What piracy? I have the game for almost 2 years on GOG, and yes I think I posted some stuff on steam asking for help and no I dont have and never had Cyberpunk on steam (neither Wild Hunt) so I dont understand the perma ban but in the end I think its for the better cuz the steam community are just a bunch of trolls most of the time... So this is what got me terrified, being perma banned for not having the game on steam but playing the game anyways hence for the steam mod "not on steam = pirated game" which is dumb but I dont care since I have everything on GOG...
Now back to the issue, I wanted to make a thread about my issue but I was told I cant and I had to inform a moderator here about it to make a thread for me but I dont think thats necessary unless its known bug that affects many people...
So basically I have installed the new update, I updated all my mods and deleted incompatible ones and everything was fine, RT Overdrive looks sick, yes it has its quirks but god the light bounce and the difference is huge from ultra to overdrive... Anyways, the issue I have began happening today. Yesterday when I played, I could enable all three options at the bottom of the settings... today I was unable to select the last one which was odd
I did tried to restart the game multiple times and change all the settings I could but this one was still unvaiable... So I was like "okay fine, lets ignore it" and I kept playing but then I got into an interesting location so I wanted to do some photos (I am on a new save) but the photo mode when I pressed "Space" kinda started flickering and reloading most of the shadows and all the light and bounced reflections (I found out that is a feature, not a bug) but the result was 0 kb PNG file instead of a photo as usual...
Here as you can see, all of my past pictures (pre 1.62) are there and all normal... but the 2 in the middle are the ones I took today and they just dont show up and IDK why... Any ideas what it might be and what could I do to solve this?

Strangely they changed the location of the screenshots folder
I think screenshots are now there : Documents\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077\screenshots
And in the "old" folder, "corrupted" files (0kb) still appear.

Thanks mate. But the new "screenshots" from that folder are quite low res... it looks like 720p instead of 1080p like the other ones from old versions.

And you still can't enable path tracing for Photo Mode ?
Knowing that you're using mods, not sure it's worth to send a ticket to the support and I guess you don't really want to "clean install" the game, to try without mod
I have a suggestion if you can pass it to the devs please for me. I would greatly appreciate it, and I think it's something to consider!
I have an idea :
How about the next expansion of cards, is focused on neutrals, or seperate then into factions if needed, doesn't matter much, and add the remaining characters/ creatures from the book of the thousand fables/ fablesphere. Like musicians of blaviken, or the book itself, the rest of the characters were really captivating, and the combination of childhood fables and the wither makes it even better. The wicked witch and her broom which can literally be two seperate cards, or something similar to skellen where the witch creates her broom for some effect or whatever. The drank wolf, the pixies..even Rapunzel would work as Hanged Rapunzel, make it a cursed card since there was a specter of her haunting the tower when she hanged herself. Goldilocks could be a disloyal unit, since she steals the bears food. The naked nilfgardian emperor. Syannas ribbon could even be an artifact aswell, where it has a timer, and during that timer, any ally that does in your round is brought back, but once the timer rans off, it destroys itself and maybe even damages adjacent units by the power of the last unit the enemy played or something, not sure, throwing ideas out there.
I think this is a really cool idea for new cards, from an expansion that everyone loved in Witcher 3. The characters really captured me as a player even tho most of them were dead by the time geralt and syanna get there, but still. Magical moments in my gaming expirience.
