šŸŽ‰The Welcome Thread

+
Hey everyone! I’ve been a fan of Cd Projekt Red since I first discovered them with The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings. Then came The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. I hear we have to have 10 Post before creating a New Thread. And when ya’ll see the New Thread that I make. You might wanna help me to get it on Cd Projekt Red’s Radar.

Because its content could make them rethink not making anymore content for Cyberpunk 2077. I’m a writer and game designer and I’d love to work with them.

After they see my outline for a New DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. With your support they may feel compelled and inspired to make it for us all! And put some more money in the voice actors hands.

If you want to work with CDPR, it's better to check out their job offers site:

Forums are not really the place for that.

Hello everyone!
I just signed up and therefore cannot open new topics. I therefore apologize if I take advantage of the space reserved for presentations. I'm writing to you about a problem. A few days ago, the computer I was using to play short circuited. While waiting to buy a new one, I installed Steam on another computer so I could continue playing. I downloaded The Witcher 3 but, to my surprise, I couldn't find any saves. The only one that was available was a very old quick save. Can you tell me something about it? I would appreciate it, because the saves were all synced correctly.
Thank you very much!

I’d love to work with CDPR but my New Thread is a Poll Thread to see how many chooms support the idea of this New Cyberpunk 2077 Johnny Silverhand DLC that I’m pitching to the company.

Maybe you should check if your saves are on Steam clouds first. Just to be sure (and if they're on the cloud, directly download them and put them in the save folder yourself)
> Valve’s View Steam Cloud page in your web browser and sign in with your Steam account

LeKill3rFou. I checked but, unfortunately, there is only the one quick save I made. There are many files, but they are all with a png extension. In practice, it appears that there are save thumbnails but no save files. It seems really strange, because the saves from the other games are all there. I'm afraid the only option is to recover data from the broken computer's SSD.

Yep, unfortunately if there is no save in the cloud, something likely went wrong with Steam cloud synch :(

Unfortunately, it must be as you say. I will try to recover the saves from the old SSD. Thank you very much for your courtesy!

Hi all, just bringing this back up in the hopes that a developer will see this!

I posted back in December about the crucial need for controller customization in Cyberpunk 2077, specifically for gamers with disabilities like myself. As a right arm amputee, I rely on an adapted controller to play (all games). Sadly, Cycberpunk doesn’t recognise my customisations, making it unplayable for me and likely others in similar situations.

It’s ironic, that a game set in a future where augmentations and adaptations are the norm, yet we’re here in the real world, struggling for basic accessibility in the same game. The ability to remap controls within the game is not just a ā€˜nice to have’ – it’s essential for inclusive gaming. This oversight feels like a missed opportunity to embrace the diverse gaming community.

It’s not just about playing a game; it’s about being part of a world that everyone else gets to enjoy. We’re not asking for special treatment, just the same opportunity to dive into Night City as everyone else. I believe this change would be a win-win, enhancing the game’s inclusivity and opening it up to a broader audience.

Thanks for listening, and I hope to see some positive changes soon.

Hi everyone, new here and digging in the game, it looks stunning. As I’m new I’ve gotta post in here for support or in the hopes that somebody knows of a workaround?

I recently purchased Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam after being captivated by its showcase at EGX. The game’s stunning visuals and immersive world are amazing although, I haven’t gotten past the opening of the game and chatting to the policeman. However, my anticipation has turned to disappointment due to significant accessibility barriers that prevent me from enjoying and playing the game.

As an individual with a limb impairment - I am an upper limb right arm amputee - I rely on an adapted Xbox Series X Controller for gaming (adapted with an AKAKI Left Handed Adaption). Unfortunately, despite my efforts to remap the controller’s analog sticks, Cyberpunk 2077 does not seem to recognize these customizations. This lack of functionality has rendered the game unplayable [for me].

One crucial feature that would greatly enhance accessibility is the option to swap around the analog sticks within the game’s settings. This flexibility is essential for players like myself who cannot use a standard mouse and keyboard setup, or the default controller configuration. The absence of such an option not only limits my ability to play but potentially affects a significant portion of the gaming community with similar accessibility needs.

I am reaching out in the hope that the Cyberpunk 2077 team is aware of these issues and is actively working to address them. Inclusive design is crucial in gaming, and I believe that implementing comprehensive control customization options would be a significant step forward in making Cyberpunk 2077 accessible to all players, regardless of their physical abilities.

The gaming community is diverse, and everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the incredible worlds that developers create. I am eager to explore Night City and fully experience Cyberpunk 2077, but that can only happen when the game is accessible to players like me.

Thanks you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and to the implementation of these much-needed accessibility improvements.

@ Moderators and/or devs

I play Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and DLCs next gen on a PC gaming rig only and I have some feedback I'd like to bring to your attention

1. Why can I not start a new topic as a new user on the forum?
- if I join a forum, it is usually because I have something to say, usually something that I deem important from my vantage point
- I'm not on the forum to read and eventually post other 10 replies, to other topics, just to be eligible to create my own topic, I have no time, nor energy to do that
- I'd suggest, for us, new users, having access to at least a section of the forum called Feedback, or something along those lines, where we are allowed to start a new topic

since that's not possible looks like, I request the mods to start a new topic for me, as per your policy:
"Welcome on forums! As a new user, you can post freely in any open thread on forums, but you cannot create new threads until you reach 10 posts. If you'd like to talk about something and cannot find any existing thread related to that topic, please feel free to post in the Welcome thread — moderators will create a new topic for you." - which I am doing here and now

2. I only play Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, only on a PC gaming rig, as it's supposed to be played any game in my opinion

- I don't care for the combat, I have a physical disability on my left hand, and as such I have no dexterity on my left-hand fingers, and as such I am not very good at combat, nor I'm not aiming to be any good at combat

- I play the game, any game, for the story and the RP aspects, not for the combat

- I chose "story only" the lowest possible difficulty, exactly because I don't like combat, I don't want combat, but I want to take part in the story

- yet, at the lowest difficulty, at level 87 with relic all gear, I'm not able to defeat the last boss in Blood & Wine, the vampire Dettlaff, because of the triple stages we need to defeat him, and because of the critical hits he continually places on us, while again, I'm at the lowest difficulty for combat

- after about two very frustrating hours of trying and dying and trying again and again, somehow - I don't even know how - I managed to defeat Dettlaff and finally move on with my progression, and eventually complete the game to the end

as a side note:
are you somehow under the impression that to keep dying and to keep trying to defeat a boss is fun?? do you really think that's what kind of fun are we looking for in a game?? to keep dying and keep trying again and again??

3. Due to the multiple endings options, I've started a New Game + with my character being at around level 88 at the end of the previous walkthrough

- in my naivete, I've chosen once again the lowest difficulty "story only"

- yet, little did I know that now, the enemies are scaled up, so the basic simple monsters now start at level 90, while my character is at level 88, and so now I can't beat even a simple monster, any monster, because once again, I have low combat skills, I cannot improve my combat skills due to the low dexterity I have on my left-hand fingers, and that's not even my goal, I want to experience different options and different endings of the storyline, not to be the best at combat, I'm not sure how many times I have to say it, I don't care for combat, as such I don't play for the thrill of combat

- but now, I can't even pass the basic quests in the basic maps, in Velen for example, because now in the new game + the enemies are scaled up, and I can't beat them, at the lowest possible difficulty... I mean what difficulty do I need to choose to have easy and very easy combat??

Why is this happening?

I can't emphasize enough, I am not interested in combat, I am not that ambitious to be the best at combat, I don't care, I just want to experience the storyline and multiple endings, at the lowest difficulty possible for combat at "story only" level, yet, I can't progress with my character

- how can I beat the final boss the Wild Hunt in the base game??
- how can I beat the final boss in the other DLCs??
- why are you - the devs - not keeping your word, meaning if we choose the lowest difficulty in combat, well let us just progress to the story without bothering us too much with the combat scenes
- why can't we just skip the combat scenes if we realize we can't beat the boss, just so we can progress with the story?? we can do that in GTA series, and Red Dead Redemption, and Elder Scrolls, and I could go on and on... but not on Witcher 3... why not?

final considerations:
- take a closer look at ESO - Elder Scrolls Online - it's so successful, with over 14-15 Mil. users now, in 2024, after all this time, because the combat is accessible to everyone, even players with disabilities as myself, and they don't emphasize much on combat, but on story progression
- I pay an annual premium subscription - aka real money, real US$ - for ESO+ because I am happy with the combat, I can beat the monsters there, with no problems, even if I am handicapped on my left-hand fingers because they don't focus much on combat... they have areas where combat is very important - dungeons and trials and such - but whoever wants a bigger challenge will go there, and if we choose not to go, that doesn't mean we can't progress with the storyline and reach the ending/s
- just do the math, if only a minimum of 1-3% of users are paying customers, that's a huge revenue, so they must be doing something right, learn from them, and you do even better
- yet, in Witcher 3 wild hunt and DLCs if we don't beat up the bosses, and if we can't skip the combat, we can't progress with the storyline

did it ever occur to you guys - devs and decision makers - that some players have disabilities (like myself) and we also want to play?? or the game is not welcoming players like myself with disabilities??

I don't think I will ever buy Cyberpunk (unless will be at a really low price on sales via Steam or Epic) but I don't think I'll ever buy it, because I don't trust your judgment when it comes to setting up the difficulty levels... what good will that do for me, if I buy the game and at the lowest difficulty level I can't beat the bosses and I can't skip the combat scenes, and ultimately I can't progress with my storyline, because I'm not a combat player...

I'm just curious guys, are you aiming to attract just kids and teens on steroids that just want to destroy things in a game?? did it ever cross your mind that not everyone is after combat?? yes, I know Witcher 3 is a hack-and-slash and loot game, but even so, not everyone is after the combat, some of the players, like myself, are after the RP and storyline

to end on a positive note:
- you as a studio, have the potential to create great things, you have great talent, great writers, great concepts, great attention to detail, great music, great artwork, great coders, great ideas...
- try to rise above the Pole-Slavic mentality and European approach when it comes to treating your players - like a new user cannot post new topics because "we know better" - and you'll become a much greater name-brand in the industry if you continue to improve, even competing with other great names like Bethesda, Activision, R*, and you know the others...
- try to reach an agreement with Paradox and White Wolf I believe, or whoever holds the copyright for sequels of VTM - Vampire the Masquerade - and make the next sequel VTM2 better than anything else that is in the gaming industry, if anyone can do it, that is you guys
- keep in mind, not everyone is in for the combat

thank you for reading

Guys... Fix apartment rewards... why cant i get judys underwater picture if i completed pyramid song? just because its a male character? same with maxtac gear. why cant male V have it? i get the lifepath specific things, fine (although even that would be nice). but this is stupud... also, kerry music thingy in our flat, not sure if i have it, if not i should even tho i did not romance him because i helped him to the end, it should play his cover of johnnies song. guys cmon these things HAVE to be in the game... also, what happend to Stouts apartment present? i use to get it after Venus quest but now nothing. fix that too. also, there are no water droplets when you have that dark gold decorated style apartment... fix that aswell, its been here since you introduced the mechanic to change our apartments, it looks like i am not showering. Also, black market vendor should sell ALL iconic weapons, and crafting specs. i still cant craft Psalm because it was bugged way back when.

Did you play as nomad?
Meredith only reward you if you find the mole and to do so, it require to be nomad ;)
No, but thats also stupid. The info is clearly written on a PC, step by step on how they did it... the fact that you have to be a nomad to recite what was written is idiotic. every lifepath has enough memory capacatiy to recite what gilchrist wrote in that mail.

Nothing to do with memory...
As nomad, V have a decent knowledge about smuggling, in particular about the LOA mention (Lost On Arrival). During the quest, thanks to this knowledge, V offer to help Meredith to find how/why she lost the transport. Offer she refuse.

Then in AllFoods factory, V can find "documents" on the computer which have the mention LOA and Anthony signature. So V know why/how and thanks to who Mealstromers managed to steal the transport . As street kid or corpo, V have no idea what LOA means and so, no idea who helped maelstromers and no idea that Anthony is the mole.

Finally, at the end of the quest, V can say to Meredith what he/she know and what he/she learn. To thanks V, Meredith send him/her the crate as a reward.

I am aware of all of that. LOA is described in enough detail in that email from gilchrist and you have a clear name (gilchrist) and everything you need to identify him as a mole.. nomad path does not seem like it should be needed. Not to mention you dont need to be a nomad to say: the mole is gilchrist, asitional info and confirmation is on a computer in a back room of the factory... so, its a piss poor implementation of a nomad specific dialigue option and a memory problem for other lifpaths...
