The White Cold - A magical force, or natural ice age? [Includes spoilers from the ending]

Hey, up to this point in the series, I had thought of the destined White Cold as an inevitable, natural ice age, but it's suggested that it is some world consuming magical force (Ciri refers to many worlds consumed by it; might be that many worlds had natural ice ages, but the way she words it makes it sound like it's not something that's natural); just precisely what is it? Apologies for asking if a codex entry in one of the games (or the books; I've read them, but can't say I remember the specifics very well) already explains this.

Also - precisely how does Ciri's Elder Blood prevent it? What does Ciri do in the Tower that stops it?

Well, she can warp time and space itself. I can think of multiple ways she can stop it, depending on how it functions.
If it's a force that travels between worlds, as in can be in one world at a time, she could do her timey whimey stuff and freeze time in that world and trapping the force in there forever. But it's probably as simple as just erasing the White Frost or something.

I remember in the books they said it had to do with a natural shift in the "earths" axis, where they just get too far from the sun and it all freezes over. And supposedly it's still a good 3000 years out.

That's the official lore anyways, idk if people are just overreacting in the game, or if CDPR decided to really make it something different.
