The "Why does the patch 2.0 work for everyone but me" club.

Post here to join the club of people who for some reason can't get the patch to work.

Didn't see such a thing. I just moved all the saves to another folder instead. I'm supposed to press "Delete local content" and then reinstall right?

I had the same problem earlier when starting to patch up from 1.2 :) ... easiest way is to download the patch manually if you are already patched up to 1.35:

http://en.thewitcher.com/patch2/

If not up to 1.35, start here:

Yeah. I downloaded the patch OK. Launcher asked me if I wanted to patch to 2.0. I said yes. Patch failed 3/4 of the way through. Corrupted the game. Now it looks like I have to reinstall the game. This sux.

EDIT (update): OK. I have been able to patch successfully. I *think* the game is running, but I can't tell for sure; I'm remoted into my home PC from work - trying to have Witcher 2 ready to play when I get home - and I think the remoting software balks at Witcher taking over the whole screen.

I manually patched successfully using the downloaded patch (thanks Bandred). The manually downloaded patch and the unsuccessful auto-downloaded patch were two *very* different sizes; manual = 929,241KB, auto = 762,176KB. Before I downloaded the patch, I tried manually patching by double-clicking on the auto-downloaded patch without any luck, so it seems to me that the auto-downloaded patch was borked on my machine. Maybe the full patch wasn't downloaded for some reason.

EDIT: (update): The patch was successful.

Manual patches do not work on my box. Got the game from GoG.com. Tried both the 1.0 to 1.35 and 1.3 to 1.35 ones. is my game borked? is there a way to see what version you have?

I keep getting stuck on "finishing installation". I let it sit the first time around for 2 hours and it never finished so I forced it closed and tried again. It got stuck on finishing again.

This is the GOG version, but I wish I had got the Steam version now and just had to wait for the autopatch.

If you have to wait for steam, why not try the BF3 beta. It's fun, if you manage to get in a server :p

Sorry @op!.

GOG version here, I installed the 2.0 auto patch via game launcher on my previously patched v1.35 and its running successfully. Before patching I made sure I have enough disk space like about 9GB free! and especially made sure I didn't have any MOD's (tho I don't know how that will affect).
