The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition – Reviews

+
Guys, chill out with that metacritic user scores. It's already a tradition that when a hyped up title releases, strange things happen on Metacritic. 10s and 0s fly with more fury than dragons in Skyrim. It's a new cyber-sport or something.

Fantastic review as always from Kevin, but he is praising the game more than last year the PC version, but still he gives the same rating 9/10.. just a detail.. anyway, Kevin could at least mention that the EE is for PC too (in a form of a free update for owners of the original game or as a retail version)

P.S.: And just from curiosity, which new animals are in the game? i know about dogs, pigs, hens, cats and geese.. are there more?

That was a link to their LIVE show streaming of 4hours, VERY late at yesterday night... So it's not available anymore... :)

Rest assured they will condense the show and post a new video in their you-tube channel...

Not yet actually...I'm still waiting but I've decided to write it I'm still waiting and I thought writing a review in the meanwhile could be a good option to spend time since I haven't got anything to do I hope it will come asap

PC Guru (Hungarian magazine) gave it a decent 85%.
Graphics - 85%
Sounds (and music) - 80%
"Gaming experience" (~Gameplay) [which is the most important] - 95%
I don't really get the 80% given to sounds. The only sentence about them (it's a really brief review since it's a PC gaming magazine) says he (the reviewer) found Geralt's voice actor "terrible" and he would prefer the voice that the hungarian version (and any other, actually) had in the first game. Also, he praises the quality and the fidelity (to the original - without dumbing down) of the adaptation and defines it as the most 'meaty' and complex RPG on the platform. His opinion about the combat is really positive. The great quality of the Hungarian localisation is also mentioned.
The main negatives are the tedious looting and the long and frequent loading screens - not sure if the game was installed. Not much mentioned about the story in particular; engaging and has many endings, etc.
All in all, I think it should've gotten a 90% easily but whatever, it's just a score.
As a closure here are the last words: "So let's clean your vials, draw your swords, an unforgettable adventure is about to begin."

This game really doesn't lend itself very well to the multiple person playthrough with everyone and their mother chiming in on live chat. You can't blame anyone for mixing up characters, events and locations on their first playthrough, but not consulting the journal at any time will do that to you.
I also noticed that quite a few "glitches" were declared, despite about half of them not being actual glitches, and just being the players misunderstanding something. The people in the chat also seem to know even less about the game.

I'd say they miss out on a lot of the story and nuances of the game by skipping the journal. As I already said, this really is a single player experience that you need to unfold in your own time. I find it contradictory that they skip across sidequests and a lot of dialogue, but still find time to loot everything that isn't nailed down instead of going for the quick gratifying combat. Oh well.

Some people in the video commented about Dandelion's american accent not fitting in with the rest of the british accents of the game. I guess they're oblivious to the fact that Geralt & Triss also have american accents.
