Whoo-ahhh!Good to be back and good to hear such wonderful news (although it is old news for some of you I see). Needless to say I look forward to this and I only hope it will be released in the first half of 2010... hehe, wishful thinking!I have only one negative comment: I understand this is far from the final product, but it's a little too gloomy and harsh for my taste. I hope the Witcher 2 universe won't be like this, at least not entirely. There was a surreal serenity and picturesque in Witcher 1 which made it a very pleasant gaming experience and contrasted very well with the darker side of the story - think lakeside, outskirts (during daytime), Druid Groove, etc. I hope all of that won't be lost.Cheers.

Heh, I agree. A few peaceful places give a really, really nice contrast to the overall game.

I also agree. Hopefully what you saw was a very dark and gloomy day and that there will be sunnier and more appealing environments as our hero travels around.I think Picturesque suits the image quite well. :peace:

Hey, I've just watched TW2 Gameplay video and I have two questions I just MUST ask: What were the songs used in this video and is there a way to get them?I'm not asking about that techno-like music at the beginning but about the other two following songs: one calm, ambient with woman voice in background, and the other one that appears while presenting combat system. They don't really sound like they were made by music composers from the first Witcher, but they're nevertheless brilliant. I've been gamemastering an RPG session about witchers for some time and I've made a great use of Witcher Soundtrack, but these two tracks are just excellent for my RPG. Can I download them from somewhere? Anywhere? Please... ???

I just watched the video and it is very nice. Graphics look very good and it's really cool that you now can affect the other characters in the game.I hope that the story is as good as the original witcher.I'm really looking forward to it.and yeah it would be awesome if Ciri would be in TW2

Alvin has lots of similarities with Ciri. The Alvin case isn't finished in the first Witcher. If we meet Ciri in TW2 and Alvin vanished... disappeared, it's a bit... strange :hmmm: ;D

Ciri is a main character of the Witcher novels, she is Geralt's "child of surprise"

I only wanted to add my grain of salt about in game animations of the second game. I know tat CD Projekt are listening to their fan, so I only wanted to talk about my concernsMy only real concern of the first game was some animations issues. For example, opening a door or a gate was really bad to see. The same while running in water, it was like running in a pond of water.I think the main concerns about the first game was animations during characters interaction and simple gameplay. Geralt should kick doors to open them, or something like that... for exemple, something like Resident Evil 5. This game isn't the best in a lot of gameplay issues, but in the animation department, it`s full of simple details that could easily be integrated in the new Witcher game.THe goal is not to steal stuff from Capcom, but just to polish the game a little more. The cinematics in the first Witcher game were so incredible that returning to the actual gameplay was making a big difference. In my honest opinion, the first Witcher game was having, an incredible story, some stellar cinematic, an awesome soundtrack, a fun and challenging gameplay and great graphics... but the animations could have been better. I think it`s really one of the few matter that restrain the game from being perfect. You guys, are the new Black Isles. I will probably buy every of your new games. Not only that, but you have awesome ideas like GOG. I really hope that you become the new Valve.Good Luck everybody.

Too true. The events concerning Ciri have long past, and now she would be probably in her own life unless an evil befell her, otherwise she would still be with Geralt, right? So, I think having her in TW2 is out of the question as far as I'm concerned... it would just ruin something, I know it.Marigold? Now there's an idea. No, a couple of ideas. You see, in The Witcher, the sorceress seized the opportunity to gain the power of influence after the battle in Vizima, and the lodge gained some leverage that way... Now, how about introducing in more detail the Sorceress' Lodge? I think that would be a good idea. Then we, as players, candecide if our suspicions from the first game were true. :peace:

In books I love reading about their meetings and I can imagine in my head what it looks like, yay I would looooove to see how beautiful can Francesca Findabair be in game! ;D

Oh, sorry I didn't catch on to that. :D But, even you admitted that the idea of the lodge would introduce a new variety of ever so marvelous characters.I think it would be too obvious for Jasky (or Dandy) to be the messer-upper of the game and has to be saved somehow by our hero. But, the devs are smart and will probablythink of an interesting plot for the inbound characters.Besides, I think if you waste all your prime characters on TW2, what hope'll their be for TW3???Man, I must be the first person to ever mention this in the forum. DIBS!!! :says I... 8) 8).... ;D.... :peace:

Hush Hush now... you don't want to wake the ghosts ;)... ;DIf you loved him in the books, you will definitely love him in The Hexer series too. He just seems like a complete trouble-maker there :teeth:

;D ;D ;D He is my favourite character in game (after Geralt of course) ;D But i wish he could follow Geralt to more places, like going with him to the Swamp or so, I would love to hear him screaming by fear ;D ;D ;D and then bravely talk about it in the town. Guess we got a little OT ;D

i hope you don't turn into the "current" valve, more concerned about milking a franchise dry and dividing their community with full-priced addons called a new game.I loved the first Witcher but my biggest gripe was 1)the (imo) sexist depiction of women, not in the story itself (RISEN is much worse in that regard) but the objectional and object-ing sex cards which I, for my taste found mighty distracting and would have wished to turn off. Not because I'm puritan (on the contrary) but rather because it was just bad taste and shed a questionable light on the dev's thinking behind it. it was not edgy or mature, it was just lame. 2)next biggest gripe was looting of houses where none of the NPCs ever reacted to Geralt running around breaking in and stealing their stuff.

Mothra, yes... this was a bit... :hmmm: unusual when poked his nose in every cupboard, chest or dresser, etc. and sacked the belongings. Especially in the houses of the thugs in the slums :hmmm: I hope there is a better alternative for ambitious Witchers in TW2 to gain items. But I can't subscribe to your view about Geralt's sexual amorous adventure. I think the erotic sexcards are quite beautiful and his art of how he beds the women are quite amusing. The only thing which sursprises me is the short duration (in-game time) they have sex. I thouhgt he is an exceptionally gifted lover :hmmm:

My oh my.. sure everybody's entitled to an opinion, but really, how long is this going to be brought up? First thing, it's just a game. Second, I'm not really sure you and I have the same definition for sexist... sexist as in behaviors that promote stereotyping of social roles based on gender? Oh really, I remember at least several occasions (Tris, Adda) in which stereotypes are “reversed”. More so, not every woman in The Witcher universe will eagerly and unconditionally open her legs, and sometimes a cheeky remark is punished accordingly. Remember "go plow yourself!" or something along those lines? Last but not least, none of those sexual pursuits (except 2-3 maybe out of God knows how many) are mandatory for solving a puzzle or advancing the plot.

Here I have to agree, especially if it's the house of a notable NPC (or bandits, as pointed out). I wouldn't be too demanding about these “details” though if that means in any way investing less effort in the story itself (or having the game released 2-3 years from now). On the surface it's simple enough, but if TW2 will be even more complex than TW1 think about the amount of animations and dialogue that have to be added. That is, of course, unless they add 2 generic replies which get recycled over and over in which case it's worse than no reaction at all (to me).
