I only wanted to add my grain of salt about in game animations of the second game. I know tat CD Projekt are listening to their fan, so I only wanted to talk about my concernsMy only real concern of the first game was some animations issues. For example, opening a door or a gate was really bad to see. The same while running in water, it was like running in a pond of water.

I must agree that many animations (characters as well) were made in hurry... we run out of time and money for mockup sessions. Also our animators team consisted of barely two animators and two juniors (who joined us at the very end of game production). In W2 animations will be definately better no doubt in that. Now we have improved animators team supported by experienced technical artists bringing new life to Witcher's world :)However you must admit that comparing RPG game to Resident Evis is unfair ;)

1)the (imo) sexist depiction of women, not in the story itself (RISEN is much worse in that regard) but the objectional and object-ing sex cards which I, for my taste found mighty distracting and would have wished to turn off. Not because I'm puritan (on the contrary) but rather because it was just bad taste and shed a questionable light on the dev's thinking behind it. it was not edgy or mature, it was just lame. 2)next biggest gripe was looting of houses where none of the NPCs ever reacted to Geralt running around breaking in and stealing their stuff.

1) I didn't like all that sex cards thing.. we have some new ideas for that2) That definitely won't happen in W2 :)

About the dragon we saw... is there going to be only 1 or more? I think that's interesting to know. :hmmm:

Hopefully CDPR will make it an interesting plot. Maybe even something like you siding with 2 dragons giving you questsand then you having to decide which is which... the lesser evil... right or wrong... something like that. ;) But, I also hope it's both.

I won't tell you anything about the dragon :) No spoilers :) Well... I can only say that it will be as important and rare as in Sapkowski's book's. EOT"fight a dragon while flying with one" - I think it's not that kind of game :) try 'Lair'

Oh, sneaky sneaky I see :evil:Well, if I take your comparison into consideration... maybe the role won't play a huge part, influence though may. Anyways, thanks for commenting. :peace:

*blink*Whoa. You did all the TW1 stuff with two animators? And you ran out of money and time as well... and now you have more animators, money and time to make TW2?Curse you. Now I just can't wait for the Witcher 2. :mad:P.S you should post more in the English forums! Or at least translate what you post in Polish, heh. I bet you're telling all kinds of secrets in Polish!

I'am trying to post here as you may have noticed :D since this week ;)Unfortunately I can't tell you more than you have seen in leaked move, but try asking questions. And yes, now out animation team is bigger :) It is really hard to find good and experienced animators in Poland...

Well, you asked, so! Are there any hand-to-hand moves? Something like that might be useful when you're stealing something in someone else's house and discovered, heh. Could be handled in many other ways too, though.Does the combat have more... hmm, combo-animations for the lack of a better word.. you know, like in Assassin's Creed. You press something then Altair performs a series of moves and kills the enemy. That kind of thing. Basically.. the Witcher 1's finishing moves but a chance/ability to do them in the combat when the enemy isn't stunned/down? Like after a block or a series of attacks. Wow, that's one messy question. Hope you understand.Do swords actually connect now? When you block or when the enemy blocks? Can you cut the enemies' hands off or other body parts? Not sure if you can answer any of those, but thanks anyways!

I think the leaked video shows the exact same style as in The Witcher so I don't think so... ,but, maybe there's been a change thereafter? I don't know.About the hand-to-hand moves, I would also like to know that. Will Geralt actually be able to interact by body-movement in normal non-combat mode? :hmmm:

Very nice, very nice... firstly - fighting a dragon is mainstream and we did it hundred time...
Same goes for riding a dragon...
secondly - Geralt's attitude towards dragons is not aggressive as he clarified in the short story (could be a hard decision if he has to)

His clarification was also widely recognised in The Hexer series. That's why I'm pushing for the idea of quests from dragon('s) and decision time between 'em. ;)

Yeah, we saw him fight in the boss battle.. but we didn't see any sword fighting against thugs. Might be different there, might not be. And yeah, it's 6 months old alpha build.

But Petra! Name one good dragon fight in an RPG. They've all been, well.. just like fighting a wall. Your character(s) just slash and the hits don't even seemingly hit the dragon. I would like to see a battle where the dragon would actually use its weapons (tail, breath) and you'd have to dodge them and perhaps run up the dragons back, stab it in a soft spot... that could be possible, with the quicktime events. Miss the QTE, you get knocked over by the tail. Complete it and you run up the tail and stab it in the eye etc.

I think that was the way it was done in God of War. :p

About animations...I've been trying to make cutscenes for the new adventure I'm making for TW1, and it's hard to make any sort of romantic cutscene. There's no "kiss" animation and no "hug" animation. I can't have Geralt, say, trace the outline of Shani's face with his finger, because not only is there no animation for that, but the guy is wearing big, heavy gauntlets all the time. I can have them stare into each other's eyes and talk dirty :D, but it would be easier to have Geralt lop Shani's head off than to have him cup her breast or hug her tenderly. :p I know that the game is mostly about fighting, but you guys did put the cards in there, and you did give Geralt numerous sexual and/or romantic opportunities. The animations for this part of the story are woefully undersupplied, though. I'm not trying to make pornography, just a romantic scene. (Actually, pornography would be easier, since Geralt's rock-back-and-forth "flirting" animation lends itself well to, ahem, certain activities.) Animations that would allow cutscene makers to put in a caress here and a kiss there would help a lot in making romantic cutscenes ... any chance of that in TW2?Thanks for talking with your fans ... that's really great of you!

I really hope the Witcher 2 doesn't get ported to consoles, because the PC version would surely suffer for it.
