The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - The Enhanced Edition Update Pre-download starts today!

The Enhanced Edition will be available for Xbox and PC in almost a week, but many of our fans just cant wait to play it. For all those, who want to start playing the new content as soon as possible we have prepared a pre-download option. You can start downloading most of the 10 GB update now and just add the remaining files on the 17th. This way you can start enjoying the 4 hours of additional gameplay, 35 minutes of new cinematics and other improvements the moment they are released. Please read all the instructions concerning the pre-download to make the process as smooth as possible. We hope youll dive deep into the content we prepared!

HOW TO ACCESS THE PRE-DOWNLOAD UPDATE:
1. Click the here to access the pre-downloader and run it.
2. Carefully read and follow the instructions in the pre-downloader.
3. Do not change the directory of the downloaded files until you update your game. Be sure that the additional files, you will download after the 17th of April will be saved in the same directory

Does the pre-load patch install directly (as you must have the game installed for applying the pre-load patch) or does it download the Enhanced patch (.exe) first and then install it?
If not than I may have to download the EE patch again (at 17th) for archiving it when I wanna replay it again in the future.

To start downloading patch you'll need to have game installed before, but after once download whole patch you can archive it without any problems

It downloads in directory of your choosing. Not sure but it might check for installed copies to determine voice packs

Patch files are splitted into 300 MB parts. After finishing downloading each part you can pause (save) download and resume it at any time, and then remaining patch resources will be downloaded.

I canceled after downloading 11 files. restarted the downloader again and picked the same directory to save it in. It resumed with file 12. so yes, It works

I would very much prefer a standalone installer file, downloadable with my download manager of choice, on a PC that does not necessarily have the game installed. My home PC has atrocious internet connection, with the current setup, even with the preload, I'll be forced to download the patch for weeks. With a standalone file I could download it somewhere else.

EDIT: Oh crap, 300 meg parts? I'll likely only be able to download one per day...

I'm very pleased/surprised they would let us have a per-download though! But I guess I shouldn't be surprised with how generous CD Projekt is
