I am confused here, the website says I can update my current Witcher 2 to new EE? so I dont have to buy the PC version again if I aleady got the previous version of The Witcher 2? V.2.0 updated too.

And if so, the pre downloader, my win 7 64bit i7 3,2GHZ with 6GB RAM says my PC cannot download this program as it harmful to my PC! So what is the pre downloader?

I just ordered the PC version of the new EE game of TW2.

I will have to get xbox 360 version too so I will order that too this week ( I aint been selected for review copy for my blog, booo! Never mind....:)

my TW2 has been updated to version 2.0 already, does this mean I can update this to the new PC release next week so I dont have to buy it again? why is the pre downloader saying my PC cannot download it? As its harmful to my PC?

Thanks....

Please let me know so I can order the xbox game and cancel my PC pre-order (and save money if the update is an update to update the current Witcher 2 PC version to new EE coming out next week?

cheers

Yep sure. The Enhanced Edition is nothing but another (huge) patch. And it's free, available from now.

Try disabling antivirus. Some AV spot dangerous programs where there're none. But if this is what you wanna know, it's no malware.

And why did you do it if you already have the game? :)

Have you tried unistalling and reinstalling the game? I would even move savegames into another folder and completely delete the game saves folder.

Also, probably you need to install patch 2.1 before.

It worked fine for me, without patch 2.1 installed. The downloader does write to the registry, so you're going to need administrator privileges for it. That may have something to do with it not thinking the game was installed.

Windows did keep giving me lip about how this program was harmful to my PC. But that's just Windows thinking it knows better than I do :p

Okay, I'm probably blind and just haven't seen it, but if you own Witcher 2 on PC, do you have to purchase EE seperately, or is it just a really, really big patch?

Thanks, I did not know about 2.1 so I had patch 2.0 only, i am currently uninstalling and reinstalling game, updating to patch 2.1 then see if the pre downloader will work...

Thanks for the help...this is not like TWEE1 is it? I need the PC disc in PC to run the game?

Cheers

Why is this not available on GOG? At least I don't see it there. Updating TW2 is always an involved affair.

The pre-downloader sent the file to c>downloads by default. I assume that once all files are downloaded and put in this same folder, there will be an installer that will take care of the rest?

I guess it's easier to answer all of the questions and monitor any issues if they restrict it to one location for now. Our dear mods seem to be working overtime today. :)

(Ditto the absence of a Steam preload. One less thing to go wrong).

No disk afaik. DRM has been removed completely.

Ok just checked.
Go to GOG account and enable Gog downloader from OFF to ON. Should be OFF by default. Select Witcher 2 from the library. You should be able to see the pacth in the list now. Download it from there (probably you'll ned to launch Gog downloader on you PC and then login).

Wait, the EE patch is available on GOG?

I've toggled the GOG downloader off and on over and over, but the EE patch isn't there.

Am I doing something wrong, or did I misunderstand what you were talking about?

That's a glitch: http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?/topic/27764-witcher-2-no-disk-in-the-drive/page__p__765756__hl__disk__fromsearch__1

I thought it was fixed in 2.1, but you never really know. Are you sure it successfully updated to 2.1? SC was right that the game doesn't need a disc, so if it's asking for one, that's not normal. You might hit up the Tech Support section to see if anyone can figure out what the problem is.

This post goes out to anybody that has "uber" slow (get it TW2 setting reference) I got rid of my direct internet line over a year ago. Idid it because I had a really nice 4 G phone. I have Sprint and I have an unlimited plan. Sprint thus far is the only true unlimited plan. I have used as much as 60 plus gigs of downloads in a month before!!! same price wooooo!! My phone is not "uber" fast but it gets the job done. My old 50 meg service would laughed at 10gs but I still can download this 10gig patch in aboyt 10 hours.

I use a program called Klink, it uses your phone without "root" so they can not really see what you are doing. Now I get that they know I am eating up huge date and could do something but like I said it has been over a year and nothing......then again i got 3 lines too....so maybe they want my money!!! Even if they do put a cap I can then just buy packs of data from a third party for cheap and pay my sprint bill as normal.

Just throwing this out there for the guys that are saying they can only get 56k or slower by the sounds of the month long download process. Not sure what all is available in other parts of the world but here in the states this works just fine.....
