The Witcher 2 EE Patch Support for Xbox 360 users?

When is the 3.2 patch (or any new patch for the Xbox 360 version) coming to the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition for the over 620,000 of us who purchased the game? There are also still several glitches in the Xbox 360 version that need to be fixed, and the several improvements from the PC 3.2 patch.

Please don't crosspost. Even if somebody had an answer, it just confuses them when they try to respond.

i asked the same thing the other day, and no one knew anything.

i am hoping that xbox gets another patch to fix all the bugs that are present, whether or not they include the changes of pc patch 3.2

Why would xbox need patch 3.2? It was exclusively a pc issue since it concerned sorting of items. It didn't do anything for glitches in game.

It adds a bunch of enhancements to the game that will help all platforms, like a North arrow for the minimap, and improvements to the crafting/trading menus.

And there's a pretty big demand for the 3.2 patch too, if you google "witcher 2 3.2 patch", the second link is someone asking about the patch for the 360.

Wasn't there any microsoft policy that prevent releases of free patches? Just asking.

Uh, I'm pretty sure patches can be released for free, pretty much every game on Xbox 360 has at least one or two patches, most have more. And even if it does cost money, CDProjekt shouldn't shaft their customers by not supporting the console versions.

Nope. They're free for consumers, sure. But it costs about $40,000 for the dev/publisher to release each patch. That's presumably for QA, certification, MS tax etc.

It'd be nice if CDPR could do that for you Xboxers, but simple economics may make it prohibitive. Take Skyrim for an example - each new patch breaks something else. It can get very expensive very quickly.

if CDPR don't release a patch on xbox then they are going back on their promise to support the game on xbox post launch.
here is an article where they promise to support game on xbox:
http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/26/the-witcher-2-on-xbox-360-includes-new-content-more-coming-post/

"CD Projekt Red plans to support The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 post-launch, updating the game based on player feedback and even offering new content on top of the new stuff on-disc. "It's very hard to give players something for free on Xbox 360, so we had to come to a decision," said combat designer Maciej Szczesnik. "Do we want to give players the game earlier without the content or do we want to give them everything? We wanted the game to be richer and have all of the content from PC, and even more content."

"We're not going to stop our support of the game after launch," level artist Marek Ziemak added. "We're launching the Xbox 360 version, but we'll continue to work on both titles parallel, creating some extra stuff and trying to give some extra stuff to players. We never fire and forget; it's against our philosophy."

lets hope xboxers haven't been fired and forgotten.

If you have been forgotten, which I rather doubt, you would only be getting a taste of what PC players have been getting from just about every other company. Not saying I don't feel sorry for you, I do, (I mean, the inventory check thing is going to save my arse, no more double recipes or books, yay!) however I expect CDPR to release the patches to Xbox, just not quite as frequently. (meaning bigger more cumulative patches) If you really want someone to blame, blame Microshaft, they don't make it easy for the smaller AAA companies (not quite Indie, but don't have money to throw around either) to support their products post release.

It'd be reassuring if one the devs could comment about the status of a patch for the Xbox 360 version.

agree, i am not going to let this topic die. there doesn't seem to be many xboxers on this forum, but its wrong for CDPR to shaft xbox players from getting at least one patch to fix about 7-8 bugs.

news soon hopefully...

CDPR customarily doesn't discuss patches until they're ready for release. So no news does not mean you have been forgotten. As soundcreepy mentioned above, releasing a patch for Xbox 360 is more tedious than it is for PC. PC is also their development platform. So although patches are generally going to appear sooner and more often for PC, it does not mean you are being neglected.

still no news of the xbox patch....not looking good.

come on CDPR, it's been almost 3 months since launch and stuff needs fixing:

- if you draw your sword while walking or running there is a stuttering graphical glitch on Geralts holsters (just walk forward slowly, draw your sword while walking - you'll notice the holsters on geralt's back stutter just after he draws his sword.

-if you holster your sword while walking/running forward it interferes with Geralts running animation causing him to flinch, stutter - not a smooth transition.

- 'From A Bygone Era' (ch 2) quest does not activate on Iorveth's path. the door to the huts cellar remains locked and cannot be opened. i tried on 2 different playthroughs and re loaded several times, couldn't get it work.

- Roche's path ch 2 - when you win the game of dice against skalen burden he never gives me the 'Princess Xenthia sword', sometimes he gives me nothing, other times he gives you a random cheap sword.

- if you press the block button even momentarily during a roll Geralt will put up his block at the end of the roll, even if you are not holding the block button anymore by the end of the roll. its very annoying. its would be better if Geralt does not bring up his block unless i'm actually pressing block button at the end of the roll.

- sometimes Geralt's hair will fall through his armour (usually after a re load), can be fixed by unequipping and then re-equipping the armour. (maybe only an issue with additional haircuts- haven't noticed it happen with default hair cut)

- some times the mini map doesn't transition properly to a new area, it just remains blank (always happens when leaving the king slayers hideout in chapter 2). it can be fixed by exiting the game and re loading.

- ACT 3 - when you craft the Vanguard trousers the texture is missing so geralt legs appear invisible when you put them on.

-And then there's the invincibility glitch. This could lead to lots of people getting the Dark Achievement with no challenge. Also ruins the game experience for the rest of us...
http://en.thewitcher...-invincibility/

-Act 1&2) mysterious merchant item prices are higher than other merchants and not lower like they should be.

news soon maybe...?

The fact that the patch isn't out for X360 yet and you haven't heard anything could mean there's more coming and the patch will be included with whatever else that is. As mentioned earlier in the thread, it makes more sense for companies to release fewer, larger patches on XBL because of Microsoft's bullshit policies.

i really hope that is true, that they have delayed the patch because they plan on releaseing additional content - that would be amazing. its just annoying that at this stage we don't know whether we've been fired and forgotten or whether amazing stuff is just down the road.

i just need a little more patience i suppose. i hope we don't get to the 6 months mark with no news.

Relax man. CDPR is known for listening to fans and issues with patches. I'm sure they've been planning on providing it.
