I've got to admit i'm a little worried about the young lady journalists comments about the game playing better on x-box. With the poorly designed (for mouse and keyboard at least) UI and the problems with the mouse, which still haven't been resolved despite constant requests since launch, it does seem like the superior control scheme has been overlooked in favour of optimising the gamepads performance.

Sorry to be throwing these negative waves at you, when you're all probably knackered from the crunch but the pc coming first has always been your mantra. I'd never ask for changes to content, but i'm currently playing through the first Witcher and the in game options available as well as the spot on controls are quite clearly superior to Assassins of Kings.

Same here, I cringed a little, when she said that. I am also replaying first Witcher now and controls are great. I have no problems with them (also there is so much more loot, that is actually worth keeping) Cant say that about second game :/ Hopefully, Witcher 3 will have proper interface for mouse & keyboard and separate UI for consoles/gamepads. Just as Human Revolution for example.

But to be on topic. Great video. Wish I was here :D Why PC release didnt have such events? :p

Probably gonna sound like a big baby now, but all this Xbox pomp is little annoying. Marketing for PC version was delivered with much less enthusiasm, making it look like an appetizer to console version (not to mention some questionable design like UI that still not fixed).

And for the first time in my life (well, that's not completely true), I have a strong urge to slap a beautiful girl.. Not that I would do something like that for real.

Not thanks to Warner Brothers (Publisher US). They must be the worst publisher in the history of videogames. If you visit their website its only about their games, old Batman Games. Nothing about witcher what so ever. No, this is all good marketing by CDP.

Let's be honest, if they released the Enhance edition for pc only it would have gone by unnoticed.

I am a hardcore PC gamer, been one since I was born, never owned a console and never will:

Only now CDPR is been noticed as a true developer among the big boys, As much as hurts to say, going for 360 was a great idea in my opinion. It was the only way to get some true recognition, and I hope that they make a big profit from the console games, something we PC gamers Epically failed to do =[

I agree that WB could ve done plenty more, but on the bright side of it, CDP is retaining control of the main marketing campaign, and that serves two purposes well: They are the ones calling the shots on how the game is gonna be perceived, and because of that, their share of the sales will be bigger...

All in all, this is all PR stuff... I'm glad our X-box brothers have some glitter... but I wouldn't trade any of this for the joy of watching the first announcement trailer back then (was it March 2010?), and seeing Letho and Iorveth on that cave, for the first time...

Wandering about their next games. Remember cd projekt if you go full multiplatform, one platform must suffer.
skyrim, new fallout games, mass effect games, dragon age are not pc games in any way, shape or form. They are just emulated games form xbox that dont need emulator if you know what i mean.

My main concern, even more than the UI and mouse pointer, is that if they tweaked combat responsiveness, both versions get this upgrade. I would hate to think that to get the most out of the game I need to be using a controller.

I've been a pcgamer since the days of ID software's Doom and 3D Realm's Duke Nuk'em (not the current rubbish)Personally I don't give a monkey's about Xbox performance as of all the games consoles that one has consistently the lousiest graphics. I am however potentially concerned about any improvements to Xbox performance which may be to either the detriment of, or override any priority given to enhancing the pc gaming experience. I have no issue with Witcher 2's current graphic performance on my PC. Nether do I have any particular problem with mouse/keyboard interface. That's fine too just a case of getting used to the quirks of this particular game. I may need in the normal course of events, to upgrade my NVIDIA card at some point but that's not really important right now

TBH, as I am really upset about the combat responsiveness issues too I start to think that there is certain type of games that are played better with a pad. Just like FPS games will always have mouse & keyboard as the superior controller, TW2 might fall into a category of games that are really crafted for a pad. These are usually 3rd person games like Batman, Dark Souls, hell, GTA played better with a pad too (for me, at least).

That of course isn't something bad, it's a nature of this type of games, but there's one thing I can't and won't accept - that one platform or controller gets a sluggish, non-responsive experience. A game might be played better with M & K or a pad, but every control method should be responsive and slick.

Arkham City has the smoothest and most responsive controls of any action game I've played, and I play it with a mouse. I think if CDPR really wants to, they can go back in and tweak just a few things for mouse and keyboard. It wouldn't take much imo, but the few things that feel off can be a huge detriment in a demanding combat system.

But then again, maybe they have done this. We'll see on the 17th. No matter what, I'm excited about the new content.

"We will be compared to Skyrim and Dragon Age. We believe we are creating something unique. We have different approach to storytelling, non-linearity, mature audience and so on"

Aggressive.

I like it.

I've tried playing it with Xbox controller and it just didn't work for me; the fact that you have to let go of the right stick, that controls the camera, so you could tap buttons is a major deal breaker for me. Using K&M is much easier, more comfortable experience..

Same here.. i'm playing most 3rd person games with pad (even most RPG's and some FPS), and i tried to play W2 with pad, but it wasn't right for me.. so i'm playing it with mouse + keyboard, and it is very comfortable for me - i do not have so much problem's with it like many people on this forum

I often alternate with the my 360 controller and MKB, the latter feels more natural because I have greater control of Geralt and the camera while combat works a tad better using the controller. If the mouselag was fixed, I would completely revert to MKB.

Mouse Lag? LMAO I have Mouse overkill.....I literally have to turn the mouse sensitivity down all the way.....otherwise it is unbearably fast. I use a Logitech m570 thumb trackball though. Keyboard is nothing special but with this set up it is great....I get no mouse lag what so ever during combat or otherwise....

I don't get all the problems about the controlls and lag that some people complain about since launch, never had them, or at least not that often.
There is some mouse lag but not always, and isn't a game breaker(at least not for me), but to get rid of this annoying issue disable the cinematic depth of field and most the lag issues should disappear.

I know lag when I see and experience one, especially in online games, it's really annoying and frustrating, but never happened this with TW2. The responsiveness is good, sometimes but rarely I've experienced some problems, but again, not game breaking because it happend 4-5 times during 4 playthroughs.

Also I've played the game with M&K and it felt natural and comfortable even though it's supposed to be "designed for a gamepad". I play many games with gamepad, FIFA 12, AC, Batman and all play great, but not TW2. Felt really awkward and frustrating, I couldn't play it for more then 10-15 minutes.

As for the "horrible UI" is a matter of taste and preference. Definitely don't want a grid UI like in HR, it was really annoying due to it's lack of space. You had to improve your skill to be able to carry more items, else you always had to give up some items to make space for the most important once. TW2 list UI is much better on my humble opinion.
And I was able to find any item really fast and easy, no struggle at all.

Mouse pointer lag is tied to hardware, which is why not everyone is experiencing it. But I'm more specifically talking about the gating between actions in the combat system. It ain't something we all just dreamed up. Nor is either acceptable in a modern game imo.
