The Witcher 2 lots of lag

I'm running this game on medium setting and 1280x1024 resolution. Default was 1920*1080 and the lag is still there. Tried to lower the setting to absolute minimum with both default resolution and the resolution I now use. The lag is still there.

Any fix for this?

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k
RAM: 8 GB RAM
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9600GT
(Haven't yet upgraded my gpu)

My HDD still got over 500 GB free space. 1 TB HDD.

Weird is, I can run most of the newer games from medium to actually, ultra good enough with small to no lag. oO Even BF3 on medium and default settings there. :p

The game is retail and patchet do the very latest version: 2.1

Also: Ubersampling is off.

The card is definitely the problem here . Regardless of game you`re playing Witcher 2 will stress your card like no other that i know of except maybe Metro 2033 .

You might try a resolution of 1280 X 720 to see if the lag improves any .

Still a bit lag. Oh well, gotta get my lazy butt of the chair and buy a couple of GTX 560ti then. :p

Thanks for your help. :) But I still meet the minimum requirement. Anyway, thanks. :)

Lowering res is the sure fire way to improve performance. You can still get a good looking game by bringing the res WAY down but then enabling all the eye candy features.

Read The Witcher 2 Tweak Guide. I have a Nvidia GT 520, and it helped me out a lot.

There's also some helpful information in this thread.
