I bloody wish they'd have found another developer to do the Xbox port instead of wasting time with it themselves.
Well, your mistake is in believing that the EEs are released because the original games were "too buggy" and "not up to the quality they should have had when released." In fact, both games, Witcher 1 and W2, were both eminently playable all the way through prior to any Enhanced Edition releases. Several people commenting in this thread have played through W2 already, and I played through W1 prior to the EE release. So, if EE releases aren't "bug patch festivals" then what are they?Evilswine said:I'm a little confused as to why they didn't just put off release a few months and release a more polished version. I don't mean to be cynical but it seems like they are trying to look like the good guys by releasing the game early, then polishing it up quickly to the quality it should have been and getting praise for it. With the first game I believed it was an honest fix for a flawed game, but this seems like they're milking their good reputation. I'm honestly alright with how it works out in the end, but it just smells fishy to me...
I also played through it before EE, and it was extremely buggy so I no idea what you're talking about. It wasn't an expansion either as there was nothing new except two missions which could be considered dlc at best. Many reviewers talked about the bugs, long load times, and crashing problems which many had (if you didn't have them good for you but don't ignore the facts). I guarantee you EE was a show of good faith to customers for a lackluster release as well as a gift to the community. You act as if these things aren't planned in advance. I'm sure they are adding content and making changes as a thanks to the community, but I know that it's also meant to increase PR. I love CDPR and respect them for the game, but for the unbelievably bad release which would signal serious issues for any other company I recognize that they have some issues in controlling technical issues. I'm trying to be realistic, but it doesn't change the fact that I love The Witcher 2 and think it's head and shoulder above many other games in terms of story and atmosphere. The Witcher 2 wasn't a gift by the way, I payed 50 bucks for it and was disappointed that I wasn't able to play for almost two weeks after release on top of the serious performance issues I had until the patch.WaltC said:Well, your mistake is in believing that the EEs are released because the original games were "too buggy" and "not up to the quality they should have had when released." That's easy to answer. The EE for W1 was exactly like expansion disks that most game devs like to charge for, only CDPR gave it away for free--out of appreciation for buying the game! Ditto the upcoming PC2.0 for W2--it, too, will provide extensive game improvements of the caliber that most if not all game devs like to charge ~$39.95 for as "expansions." Besides new content, traditional expansions offer lots of game improvement as well. That is precisely what these enhanced editions offer for these games by CDPR. It only sounds "fishy" to you because you are looking at it in entirely the wrong way. Better not look a gift horse in the mouth...![]()
Wrong Bioware or should I say EA got away with murder on Dragon age origins the game is better since the last patch but still get crash to desktop some times . I have dare I say Hp desktop 2.6 quad core with nvidia 9400gt . Funny I am happy playing on lower resolution in windowed environment and not crashing than not knowing when the next time crash is going to happen and know it will happen (DAO problem) . I play with everything turned on but uber and all blurring I took the trade off of playing in a window in small resolution with everything turn on it could handle in that resolution . I could probably play with everything turned on but at the lowest resolution possible windowed .Then I would need my reading glasses . ( have tried know I could but then experience lag everyone talks about )Evilswine said:Where have you been? The game was not playable at all for many players including myself because of issues getting it to run to begin with. Then the framerate issue made it impossible to play for many others until it was fixed after patch. Diss also convinced me to go back to my original statement that they should have waited. Also, I'm sorry, but to release a game that is unplayable then release patches weeks after with some new content and get praise for it does seem like they are benefiting from their good reputation and know it. If any large company had pulled the same things CDred did it wouldn't fly at all.
AGAIN SIR! You've spoken my mind! guess we're just too easy to satisfy. But yeah, I enjoyed the witcher so much since 1.0 even I'm very picky for rpg. The game is already very good itself and if they fix whatever the problem they have, that just make it even better.MyselfCosmin said:I remember that I've finished the first witcher before the Enhanced Edition and except the long loading times and crashing problems I had so much fun, it was such a memorable, exciting gaming experience. All those problems were there but I didn't pay attention, and I waited even 1 minute or more for the game to load, I didn't care, because the game was that engaging and exciting. The second game is far better, there are almost no loading times and no crashes, and the game played really well even at 1.0 . Some are really annoyed by the interface, and the combat, but I wasn't, the UI isn't the best out there, but it is ok, and the combat once you get the hang of it, it's so much fun and enjoying.
All I want is a more airy interface, cause the first one is too bloated, if you know what I mean, and it should have smaller icons, menus. Also I would be really happy if they would make you able to move while parrying, cause that was a bit frustrating for me when I first played the game. That would give much more fluidity to the combat, would make it even more dynamic.
Other than these things, more quests, items, or even a stand alone adventure would be fantastic.

I think you will be very, very disappointed, it's obvious they won't change that many things in the upcoming version of the game. I won't get my hopes too high if I were you. They won't remove the QTEs, they will have to work alot more then to add a new system, that can be worse in the end. They'll fix some things, and add the two new mods, people have to live with that, if not, well, there's nothing we can do. Some may agree with the changes, others won't.Overall i hope for ui changes, improvement to the combat and its targeting system (as it can be bad at times), the ai, QTE's preferably removed with some better system in its place, better crafting and potion system, rebalanced skills, better optimization, fixing boss fight bugs (if you think outside the box the scripted encounter dies, ingame settings, scalable blur / bloom, improved act 3.
Oh well :> Anyway i hope for more information. Do anyone know at what day they will show all the features?
Yeah, I think it's the arcady approach towards the console audience. Most interesting about the arena for me is the fact it will be an easier way to boost experience points and the new items in the armory, that weren't shown in the trailer.Kaldurenik said:Then you have the arena. It sound like it was thrown in mainly because of the console. Not very hyped about it sadly not saying that it will be bad or good or whatever.

Oh i thought it was some kind of "side" thing that had no attachment to the campaign but in that case im abit more interested... Request for the Arena mode came in originally on GOG forums some time ago from some hardcore PC audience. So consider yourself pretty wrong here.rtt132 said:Yeah, I think it's the arcady approach towards the console audience.
like you see on the trailer there are new quests! btw did he say in the video 2.0 version will include all 9 DLC's? hey wait a minute!rtt132 said:It's good to see the developers are listening to the community for such things though.I wish they listen for the stortened chapter III also and add a few more quests in the future.
Witcher 2 has 9 DLC's to this point? I'm pretty sure there were only 3 updates with 3 DLCs?rtt132 said:Yeah, I actually saw the little part from the new quest with the knight.
Also the 2.0 will include all 9 dlcs to this point.
