The patch is somewhat underwhelming, but thanks nonetheless, CD Projekt!
Hmm. This scene? (dragonbird said:I agree that the one at the beginning could very easily be pre-rendered, but the second one looks like to me like a gameplay render. (well, except for the bit where the ship explodes). The quality is similar to the "cinematic" real-time renders in the game itself.
I'm preety sure that's the work of mr. Tomasz Bagiński and Platige image (same people responsible for the intro and outro of TW1). CDP have previously mentioned that he'll be working on an intro for the xbox release and I'm sure that'll be it.I agree that the one at the beginning could very easily be pre-rendered, but the second one looks like to me like a gameplay render. They've mentioned that there will be fixes as well. That doesn't exclude the possibility of fixing combat (which really isn't bad except the various times when it completely stops responding) or even overhauling the UI. All this discusses are two new additions to the current game. In a sense, they are DLC.Siven said:Hmm, honestly im dissapointed.
I was hoping they would improve the interface screens, like the alchemy screen.
Also was hoping for better combat response and improved gamepad usage.

WHAT? Flashbacks were great! My only issue with the them is that information was delivered too fast, if you know what I mean. I used to lose track of the events going on there. *English is not my primary language.Dona said:ikr
And how do we explain them that they won't be rendering new scenes just because people didn't like the style of flashbacks? :/
The balance between action and RPG are fine. The issue is that when you get to chapter 3 and become so powerful, it's almost a breeze. The more powerful I become, the bigger the challenge I should have to overcome. The dragon is so easy once you learn how to beat it. Letho is easy as well. There's hardly any big challenge in chapter 3 that are part of the main storyline (operator is an optional fight). You hardly get to enjoy your top notch weapons either.Interreks said:First of all, thanx for your update-support CDPR. Really, many many thanx... Arena, Dark-Mode all of that stuff sounds good, but these are just obsolete "gimmicks". We need Witcher 2 with more RPG-elements with less action...more quest-story driving cRPG-Game like Witcher 1. Please take it into consideration (understand it).
Witcher 2 needs an updated Chapter 3 and a new Chapter 4. Why? Cause the game is to short for "new dark-mode super weapons".
Many things are still (v1.35) in a bad way (for example UI or poor story and questdesign, poor flashbacks etc.)...so...so there is still much to do.
LOL, that's how I beat the game the first two times through (on normal and hard). Then I discovered how awesome Aard and Axii are. My 4th run through with the alchemist branch was amazing.Thoric said:Dark mode sounds nice. I'd really like to have unified gear progression throughout the game. Not a fan of the mix&match stuff.
And while some people might not find use for the tutorials and arena, i think they're a necessity to ease new people into the game. It wasn't the actual difficulty that caused people to say that TW2 was "too hard", but that there wasn't a good enough explanation of the game mechanics and most went unprepared into combat, brute-forcing their way with sword attacks+Quen, which is really dull and not fun. The tutorial will show new players how to take advantage of their full arsenal and approach comat head-on, as they're meant to. They'll also be able to practice in the arena. It's a great solution to one of the major complaints about the game.
Can't wait for some detailed patch notes on the "over 20" fixes. Hope there's something about the UI in there.
I agree about not getting to enjoy your new weapons. Especially if you pick up the Operator's Staff. I've never really had the chance to get to learn how to use it effectively, as I've only ever used it against Letho. Chapter 3 or post-epilogue extensions would be good.AnthonyF1227 said:The balance between action and RPG are fine. I feel like you're almost rushed to the council and then to face the dragon then go face Letho (which is optional). Not enough small missions or even main plot line missions. Give me another 5 or so hours of gameplay in chapter 3 and I'll be more happy. I'd also like to have another beast battle in chapter 3. Something other than the dragon. Give me something cool and unique. How about a slizzard or an imperial manticore (both of which appear in flashbacks and are supposed to be extremely dangerous creatures).
