The Witcher 2 Receives Gamespot Nomination!

[moderator]The Witcher 2 Receives Gamespot Nomination![/moderator]It’s happened. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has been nominated for the "Best of E3" award by GameSpot. In spite of being one of the last titles added, the game is getting loads of votes and moving smoothly up the list at the website.Internet users from around the world will decide the winner. Gamers who can’t wait for TW2 have stepped up in force. In the space of a few hours, they’ve vaulted The Witcher 2 into the top 10 nominees for PC games. You can vote until the evening of Monday, June 21st, and we wouldn’t be ourselves if we didn’t encourage you to [moderator]do so[/moderator] ;-) During this year’s edition of E3, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings received the following three nominations on top of the “Best of E3” nod at GameSpot:[moderator]Best of E3 - KotakuBest Game of E3 – IGNBest RPG – IGN[/moderator]

How can a game that isn't released yet and, therefore, not even been played or judged by the players possibly be nominated for anything?

Simply by being rated as an interesting position by players and enthusiasts! Exacly the same, like other games. This is the power (and a great atmosphere) of such events, and we really appreciate that.

OK got it...hype. I got really excited when the email arrived announcing this because I thought I had missed the release so I went straight to IGN for the review. There is an old Scottish saying 'Never buy a pig in a poke' a 'poke being a sack or bag so I shall await the reviews in 2011 or 12 or whenever. Do people really wet themselves over advertising?

We have similiar saying, we can translate to 'Never buy a cat in a bag' ;-) Please note, however, that we're not selling anything right now, and what's more important, strong support and feedback will influence the the quality of the production. We're trying to make the best RPG possible and it's completely impossible without the community. Greetings!

This 'voting' allows to vote more than one time even not leaving the page.I don't see any reason in such 'nominations' - any interested person can develop a simple bot in a few hours and then make any project 'the best nomination of XXX' in a moment.Useless voting and news. On other hand a short message via e-mail have noticed me that project is not dead and it is good news!

I seriously enjoyed the first game, the only thing I didn’t liked at first was the combat system. But a couple of hours into the game I grew to like it.So if this is anything like the first, I will definitely vote for it.Keep up the good work!

I enjoyed 'The Witcher' tremendously. However, I completely fail to understand why 'strong support and feedback will influence the the qualiti (sic) of the production' of Witcher 2. Unless you are you raising loans on the basis of votes of course? If you are then why not simply say so and we'll all engage our bots so you can engage your bankers. I simply hope that I live long enough to see the result!

There is a grain of truth in it ^_^ but the previews we got so far from magazines and gamerwebsites are not made by manipulated bots. Players will keep that in mind and keep eyes open for more info on TW2... which of course should convince everybody.

you can count my vote as well. Before Oct.2009 i had never even heard of The Witcher but my wife saw me browsing games at the local Wal-Mart and she asked me about it and i said it looked like it might be an alright game.So she got it for me as a birthday gift. I was never wrong about anything more in my life. My perception of "might be an alright game" turned into one of the BEST games i have EVER played

My Vote is in! I'm just thrilled that there is a Witcher 2! Hands down this one one of my favorite games ever. Let's be candid... more publicity and interest does help drive the end result. Most products are driven by market research and percieved sales numbers. What the vote conveys is how strong the support and interest is in the Witcher 2. Beleieve it that things like this come up in business decision meetings when it comes to allocating funds, driving due dates, etc. Bottom line, if you like & support the game, VOTE.

Not true. I can't vote again even after refreshing the page. There must be an hour limit. I've voted today too and I'm amazed how it got to the first place today :) Last day I was a little sad because it didn't have many votes. This'll be great for The Witcher I and II's publicity over the world. However, the top ten list isn't up-to-date. It still shows another game as the #1.
