uncharted 2 sold around 5+ million copies. MGS4 around 6+ million, GT5 as well around 5 million but Im sure Gears of war and other sold much, much more. and thats only exclusive to one platform what if those games would come out on both consoles. no PC game can beat that and ever will get close to that score maybe Diablo 3 but only bcoz it will be supported and driven by Battle.net which might prevent against part of piracy.

Those are HUGE outliners even by consoles standards.
it would be like nam-drop WoW, the Sims or Starcraft on PC.
If you think that the average console title sells this much you are delusional.

So the game only sold around 150.000 copies since August? Even after they were giving away a free copy of The Witcher with The Witcher 2 on GoG? Even after the Steam sales?

That is a fair point now that you mention it. Maybe the purchases from the Christmas sales were processed a little late and will count towards 2012's sales :p Either way I agree that the sales figures are very good overall.

As TW2 PC release helped sell more TW1, I think the same might happen with TW2 Xbox premiere - lot of people who played Skyrim or ME3 will be reminded of TW2 on the wave of Xbox version advertising. So I expect TW2 PC sales numbers to go up a little bit, apart from the millions the Xbox version is going to sell of course

Well I bought TW1 even though I won't buy TW2 for PC just for the story, which I heavily enjoyed. And from all the praise TW2 have gotten, I'm sure I'll enjoy ut even more than TW2.

The problem with DRM is that it doesn't hurt pirates because there are people out there that crack software day one for fun. It hurt only, and i want to stress that ONLY legal customers, pirates don't use drms like steam or origins, some pirates don't even know about all this drms that companies try to put in their product. DRM is worthless in my book and im happy that CDPr know this. Only good method right now to fight piracy is just making outstanding product. Also lets say if pirate(potential customer) need to chose legit version with drm(always online option, worse performance etc, etc) or cracked version without drm, he always chose cracked version! I also heard about cases when customer after buying product chose to use cracked version.

i have never been hurt or inconvenienced in any way by proper drm. and also, what do you think would happen once games become freeware? do you think companies will still spend millions to produce aaa quality products when there's no insurance at all? i can tell you one possible future, f2p games with direct money transactions. that cuts out drm right away. but you still won't get cdpr quality as the incentive no longer exists. so far for that revolutionary idea.

Doesn't mater if hasn't hurt you till now.
DRM is abusive, insulting and unfair.
And big companies can do the sames games with or without DRM.
DRM is an imposition on customers, not on pirates.
