The Witcher 2 Update

+
Greetings, CDPR, I am waiting and hoping for the imminent release of the fourth part of the saga. I'm currently going through the original trilogy. And so, rolling the dice, I thought in the first part: a remake of the first game is being prepared, but will there be any additional work on the second part, at least at the level of implementing the Project Mersey fan patch? Or will it remain an underappreciated, but much loved, part of the saga? Good luck on the Way!

You‘ll have to wait for an official announcement to answer this question.
For obvious reasons it’s not something anyone will answer here before there is a public announcement.

Personally, I think if cdpr gets back to tw2 it will get a similar treatment as tw1. This would not be cheap, it would take quite some time. And it would not happen before the release of the new version of TW1.

But at this point all of this is mere speculation.

@devivre There is no point to move on new engine Witcher 2 :D. According to my research if i would be millionaire i would by licensce to red engine 2, really well and great designed engine by CD projekt RED. I realized something great about that engine but cant really share info in public about that.

The biggest problem with the Witcher 2 game engine is it is 32 bit and has a 4 GB memory address limitation. That's 4GB for system RAM and VRAM put together and most people complain if there is only 8 GB of VRAM available on their GPU. Sure there are ways around the 4GB memory address limitation like bank switching but that's always going to be clunky. So the first thing it desperately needs is a 64 bit game engine.
