Maybe a potion in anticipated dangerous areas would make you more reactive or aware of nearby monsters, but geralt doesn't have the force, he can't sense things around him, it makes sense that every now and again something would get the jump on him, or at least come close to itTommy said:Hmmm....a death wish is what that sounds like to me but whatever works for you i guess.
For that you have your medallion. Am referring that Gothic [well the old ones] had a harsh punishment for free loot.. beaten till deathcinarea said:@ Nevermoreit suppose to be a wishlist topic hereI don`t care what Diablo or Gothic or whatever has or not. I won`t play neither of them anyway. I do care about a game I am going to play - The Witcher 2.quality over quantity dare I say
also, I wished features that I`ve mentioned, to be triggered separately by players and/or by difficulty levels. like "difficulty level - custom"or, in kind of "achievment" or "score" gameplay this could be done by % difficulty levels, for example food requirement triggered on by a player increases difficulty level by 10%, et caetera.
Ok. I'm seriously hurt right now.TW-fan-BG said:Vilgefortze, I don't want statistics to brag, you [censored]...... :@
Oh true I didn't think of that, good point, human surprise attacks do make a lot more senseVilgefortze said:@feddoI like your idea with the surprise attacks. Now, as witchers carry the medallions, monsters cannot normally sneak up on a witcher. Humans, however can. Maybe we can have surprise attacks from bandits etc.
too fancy.seriously, it`s a maximillian tournament armour. it took over 300 years of plate armour to evolve into this.most of soldiers and knights shown in teasers so far are wearing mixed XIII / XIV c like.this is too much. well, maybe for dwarven nobles in Mahakam - the gnomes might be able to do that.seamusgod said:for high ranking official.![]()
Humans make too much noise to be able to sneak up on a witcher. Remember the opening movie, the one with the striga fight? Geralt could hear the sarcophagus lid scraping from really far away. In one of the stories, a character throws darts at Geralt while he has his back turned, and when Geralt doesn't flinch, the character wants to know what's up. Geralt says that he could HEAR that the character had aimed to miss.In the new adventure I'm making, a blindfolded Geralt follows another character along a narrow path with a drop-off on either side, and neither character is worried, because Geralt can HEAR where the other character's footsteps are.I suppose an elf might be able to move silently enough to surprise a witcher -- I don't know that much about Sapkowski's elves -- but a human shouldn't be able to.Vilgefortze said:@feddoI like your idea with the surprise attacks. unlessfeddo said:...a human wouldnt be able to..
Note: I forgot to add "totally awesome" and "peerless genius" along with "matchess".But seriously, as exciting as the surprise attack idea looked at first glance, Geralt's wolverine-like senses make it quite impossible for any human, in disguise or otherwise, to surprise him. Even if they are in disguise, he can probably "smell deceit" on them as wolverine can "smell fear". Mind you, the Geralt from the saga isn't the most trusting person you'll meet in life.feddo said:...the human is as skillful in stealth as the matchless me.
Here we go... another one arguing with examples/quotes from the books. Vilgefortze how do you like it now?seamusgod said:geralt is not a god. he has weaknesses and was killed by a mob of peasants, the least likely death you'd expect for a witcher...demonstrating that even the great geralt can also fail, sometimes miserably. no one can calculate every step perfectly. no one can sense ambush every time.
For now I will sticky for a limited time onlyfchopin said:Can we have a sticky for the wishlist so it stays on the first page please?
geralt is nothing more than a naturally gifted and well trained fighter who is quick to learn and adaptive. against a well trained soldier, i'm afraid you're looking at cat vs dog, rather than cat vs snail.stanpapusa said:Here we go... another one arguing with examples/quotes from the books. As for another 'bad' witcher (or an elf) sneaking upon Geralt, that's a whole different issue.
You've left out the essential part, i.e. he's a MUTANT. Average folk or even well trained soldiers don't have cat eyes glowing in the dark, don't drink potions, don't heal within a matter of minutes, don't have the ability to sense monsters (perhaps not even able to tackle them), don't cast signs and don't have super-human reflexes. You can argue that Sigfried and Yaevin are well trained and adaptable fighters, but Geralt is a little more than that.seamusgod said:geralt is nothing more than a naturally gifted and well trained fighter who is quick to learn and adaptive. against a well trained soldier, i'm afraid you're looking at cat vs dog, rather than cat vs snail.
Stanpapusa... I know we've had arguments in the past, but I never did anything so heinous to warrant such insult. Please keep this in mind.... if you, in any manner whatsoever compare/relate me to plate+bald Geralt fanatics again, I will f*cking kill you. I am further perplexed why you chose to lob a grenade into my territory after we decided on ceasefire. Correction: the magnitude of this assault is more a nuke than a grenade.I would earnestly appeal to you to at least read through ONE of the books before you pass judgement on why I defend them.stanpapusa said:Here we go... another one arguing with examples/quotes from the books.
