i dont like it at all, i prefer that you alone must find ingredients, make a potion, and decide which potion suit better for each situation, simple and great :)

One thing I'm not sure about the new potion/alchemy system is,
they said that the potions and bombs will get auto-refill after meditation and that you can upgrade them (stronger, longer duration and more toxic), but do you always have to upgrade them (like getting the ingredients) or do they also get auto-refilled or rather do they replace the normal Basic Potions? I hope it's not the latter.
I think the upgrade lasts for the whole game. Might be even tied to leveling up alchemy tree.

You still have to find the ingredients, but only once. It's not like I can't agree with the reason why they changed it (they felt people rarely used potions, because they didn't want to use valuable ingredients and save them for later), but it just does not feel right to have "free" potions.

I suppose it will be the latter.
In the world of well-balanced games, to upgrade a potion/bomb, one or several of the ingredients needed would be in hard to find place/difficult monsters/hard to find place protected by a difficult monster. Thus, your upgraded potion/bomb would be awarded by a challenging subquest. In this world, I would like the auto-refilling system.

In the world of badly-balanced games, you would find ingredients almost everywhere and upgrades would feel shallow. In this world, I would probably hate the auto-refilling system.

With this system, the focus would precisely be on the "choose the best potion for each situation" part.

Unfortunately, something about the interviews makes me pretty sure that the decision is final and that the poll results mean squat, so Thank you CDPR for ripping my heart out and going all KALIMA! I was a bit disappointed with combat but that is understandable since its a very hard mechanic to balance, but making a conscious decision to destroy the great work achieved with TW1 potion system instead of taking steps to improve upon it (steps which are obvious to everyone I might add), if this is really how alchemy will be approached in TW3, it will be a crippling blow to the experience(for me at least), so yeah I love you Konrad, I really do, but thanks for ruining the alchemy part of being a witcher for me.

Yeah, like I mentioned a few pages back, overhauling the crafting system could effect too many other areas, it's crazy to expect any big changes this far into development.

Witcher 3 Bombs Mechanics

I've created a thread for discussions regarding the auto-refillable bombs mechanic (seeing as there is no thread about yet), which was recentely revealed by Konrad via an interview:

... when you’re resting near the fireplace, potions will be automatically refilled, and bombs also
we’ve made it this way that every potion’s got three levels, bombs also.

via pixelitis

IMO, I have faith that this could be an excellent change (as with the potions), although I reserve ultimate judgement after actually playing and feeling it for myself.

Imo they are attempting to solve a minor nuisance, by creating a Huge structural problem

how does this even work? I kinda see it with potions, because you most likely won't need a lot of the same potions at the same time. but what does "refilling bombs" mean? how many do you get?

I don't know, it doesn't sound very logical for bombs to auto refill...

I can understand it with flasks for potions, you just make some new potions and pour them in your flasks. But bombs? You throw away the bombs and they explode, so you'll have to make new ones every time. Even though it almost worked the same way in TW2, it seems kind of strange to me to just create a bomb out of thin air, the only ingredients some flowers...

I suppose the ingredients requirement for upgrading each bomb is going to be more thoughful and integral to the game - possibliy harder than you usual ingredient stackfest in any other RPG out there. We might have a sense of accomplishment from just getting all the right ingredients to upgrade a bomb.

Also, perhaps the variety of bombs and usage cooldown of each bomb will still make you think about when to equip a certain bomb beforehand, and when to use it. So strategy and challenge during combat is not compromised.

Actually I don't care about bombs, as I didn't really used them in TW1+2.

They probably doing this for casuals/consoles. Sad. But I'm glad we have mods.

And also, they're doing this so you don't have to go all the way back to town to get refills, for those long quests. But I don't see why they can't just allow more inventory space especially since there's a horse now. Bombs and flasks shouldn't take that much inventory space as oppose to armor/weapons.

Another point of consideration: The world is big. CPDR might not want you to fast travel all the time in order to buy bombs, store stuff and so on. It could be an annoyance which they are trying to eliminate.

I like the idea of auto refill potions... i think its not bad for bombs either if it comes down to upgrading them too ... its really about the same...
It takes away the boring part of running to shops each time... you still need to kinda prepare by resting at tthe fire....I think thats better than running miles back to town or run through woods to collect stuff ... especially in that huge world that would be a bother in my oppinion... so yes its the same as potions
Its not like some great bit is ripped of the gameplay ... just the boring running and collecting aka grinding goes away... so think twice if you are really against it.. think about all the time you will spent grinding rather than hunting monsters and concentrate on the story

And that's one of the core issues I think Konrad is trying to resolve. I hope it works out. And props to him for thinking a bit out of the box, and having the courage to try something new.
