My god its already making me cringe, I would probably have a stroke if I played the whole game in portuguese

I have a hard time understanding this petty behaviour. IMO, "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" doesn't sound as weird as "Bruxo 3: Caçada Selvagem" because it's a foreign language, allowing people to distance themselves from the silliness of their meaning, but yet they both mean the same thing.

Fear not, though, the game will not be called "Bruxo 3: Caçada Selvagem" because that would weak CDPR's brand. However, I thought they would call it "The Witcher 3: Caçada Selvagem", in line, for example with how Star Wars are named = [English Brand][Portuguese Subtitle]; btw, Star Wars initially were also translated to Guerra nas Estrelas, but they later changed this to strengthen their brand.

if you knew the polish language and culture you would have a different opinion , english translation loses too much unfortunately, at least in W1 and W2.

I never heard the polish version, so I can't say if I would choose the polish version

It's a matter of personal preference.
In general I prefer to consume media (TV, movies and games) in their original form and language.
it doesn't have to be English, it could be another language which I may not understand, but with subtitles.
I don't like things to be dubbed in my own language, because much is lost in the transition.

In this case the English version is the main one and I love the VO in the games so far.

It doesn't matter in what language the initial script is written in, it would be translated by professionals anyways.
In terms of allocated resources it makes sense for the English VOs to take precedence, since it will be the most widely used language.

Still, It's good that you get localized version, I'm sure a lot of people will be happy with that.
I know first hand that localization is a big pain, so kudos to CDPR for all their efforts in this regard.

Guys, the name of the game will not be translated. It was just an explanation to the audience at BGS. Just check the cover at the NC Games site and at the retailers sites.

I would have loved to know polish in order to read the books in polish, because I'm not a big fan of translations especially when it comes to books.
I have watched Witcher 2 gameplays in polish out of curiosity, but I still think Doug Cockle voice fits Geralt more than Jacek Rozenek.
I can't tell you about how much translations effect the games though, because I don't know polish
You know what If I knew Polish, I would do one playthrough in Polish and then one playthrough in English.

And I thought he could be the one responsible for the translation of the game. I wonder about this translation. Are they from english to portuguese or polish to portuguese? Are they in line with the books or not? Dandelion or Jaskier? Quiquimora or kikimora? :hmm:

From the leaked video (CDPR, why u no release a good one?), it's bruxo, not bruxeiro or whatever. But I think drowners were called afogador, not afogardo.
