Maybe, one day.Photos or it never happened
(And yes, I felt much the same when I finally managed to pre-order last night)
Because by Canadian Law you have to have English AND French packaging...Quebec again? seriously, why not just use the French copies from France for quebec then? grrrr
That's bullshit, pure and simple; Why hasn't someone rewritten law to get around this yet I wonder?Because by Canadian Law you have to have English AND French packaging...
I don't know if that's the real reason; but it's the only thing I can think of seeing as how smaller countries have theirs at Gamestops already.
Because English AND French are the national languages. We don't have just a single one. It's why when you phone the gov or rogers or whomever; they say pick French or English. Other countries (Such as some in Europe ) have one major national language and then stuff like English as a second. So they don't need to comply with packaging and stuff. That's bullshit, pure and simple; Why hasn't someone rewritten law to get around this yet I wonder?
Apologies, when I get screwed due to stupidity and stupid laws, I get angry. Back to waiting to see if EB Games hopefully puts preorders up before the supply runs out.'K. Can we get back onto the subject of ordering the CE, and not national politics please? This is NOT an appropriate forum to be discussing changing your country's laws.
Thanks, mate! But to be precise, I didn’t have much trouble pre-ordering even though I missed the original e-mail notifying us that we could do this by about three days. Thankfully, Amazon.de either has a larger stock than Amazon.com or there just haven’t been as many contenders for the CE over here. Either way, I’m still glad that now I won’t have to buy a used one off of eBay or such :3@demut , good hunting to you.
...I like this guy.Yes.
YES!
IT SHALL BE MINE!

I'm not buying anything!
Welcome to a fair few of our personal hells; EBgames sent me a rather ominously worded reply to my question about ordering CE.CD Projekt RED, i soooooo want to give you my money for this beautiful Collector but i can't buy it in Canada *cries a river*.
I know right? Others are saying its due to the Quebecois and having to do up both a English AND a French version of the manuals, which I've seen happen before. And EBgames, as usual takes a stupidly long time and sufferes from corporate CYA when I ask them the hard questions about exactly WHY there is a problem....Yeah still haven't found a single retailer in Canada that offers the CE of The Witcher 3. I've managed to order it from Game Stop US, but I'm not sure how assured that is (Could be cancelled, delayed or come with overcharged shipping/tax fees). This is all very disappointing as Canada is pretty big market that can ride on the same stuff US gets.
My understanding is that the Quebec laws do require them to provide French manuals along with the english ones, but only for physical retail copies. That's clearly not an issue for the basic stuff as the regular edition is available here in Quebec. I doubt stuff like the art book in the CE would also have to be in French, but even if it did the CE isn't going to be up on store shelves but shipped directly to people or left on reserve at the shops so it's not an issue.I know right? Funny you should mention that. I sent a PM to Marcin directly and he got back to me yesterday ( I checked today )My understanding is that the Quebec laws do require them to provide French manuals along with the english ones, but only for physical retail copies. WB is in charge of the distribution in NA so I'd image the fault lies with them, but I'm not sure why they would omit Canada from the list of places that have access to the CE. Having worked at WB here in Montreal I know that we've had access to CE versions of the vast majority of games published by WB, so this is really odd. Maybe there's more to it we don't know, but it would still be nice to at least get official word on the status of CE availability for Canada.
