why does Canada keep getting shafted?

We didn't get shafted. Just.. really short time to pre-order compared to others

Has anyone ordered from base.com? The site isn't listed on the official TW3 "buy" page, but it appears to be available...

I am very sorry we are unable to provide any information in regards to this product until closer to the release date. We usually receive enough stock to cover all pre-orders. They are shipped out on a first come first served basis. We usually receive our pre-order stock 1 - 2 working days before the release date and they are sent straight away. If there is a problem with fulfilling an item we will let you know as soon as possible. We will also only charge you once the item is in stock and ready to be dispatched.

Now I'm confused (again). Do I stick with this order, or try to hunt it down elsewhere (...again)?

Well why didnt u pre-ordered when was announced ? I got my pre-order on 7 Jun from Amazon UK, and im happy with it..

Not everyone has money available at all times for dropping on pre-orders.

No offense, but these CE's are on limited editions, and pre-ordering now, until february they can raise money, for sure. I dont have right now the money, spending them on maxwell 880 GPU, but until february i can surely make some money to pay the CE of Witcher 3.

Also, i pre-ordered, within the first customers, the CE of Witcher 3, on one of my local big stores, very low price compared with Amazon UK's CE of Witcher 3. Just to be sure i get one copy. If they will call me and say, for sure they can deliver me a CE copy, i will cancel Amazon UK pre-order. If not, i will buy it from amazon, on extra price..

Hi, i am from C zech republic, so yes, Slavic country

My question was, if a would be able to play us version of the game on czech ps4 with czech ps account.

Ive found it on amazon.de, but the price is 150 Euors, and america has the same price in US Dollars. and even with 25 $ shipping to England, i can spare 20 Euros, because an friend of mine, can send me it from UK to CZE at no cost.

The only problem is, will there be any problems with the US version at my home, or not

They're saying that it SHOULD be OK, but they can't guarantee it. I think that you'd get a similar response from any other store. If any store guarantees delivery, I'd be more suspicious.

Same thing happened to me when ordering from US and UK websites - they flagged me because I made the transaction from a computer in Bangladesh, probably on suspicion of credit card fraud. You can try calling them to explain your situation.

Thanks for the reassurance. I was a bit worried after reading something about unit allocation on these forums, and since sites like Amazon UK sold out so fast, I assumed all legitimate retailers were told how many copies they'd be receiving well in advance.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to, PS4 has no region lock. Good luck on getting your copy.

But we didn't my friend. We got ours in the end. (According to my receipt it says on the 24th of June ) and web- versions were up until about the 19th of July. So we didn't get 100% shafted since we ended up having a window to pre-order in; but I'll concede you're correct.

1- It has ( to the best of my knowledge ) only been available at EB Games ( I could be horribly wrong in which case I apologize )
2- Each store ONLY had PS4/XBox One copies.. and only ONE - THREE of each of these; for pre-order. The rest were online only.
3- Compared to other countries; this means that unless you got stupidly lucky ( Like I did when I grabbed a PS4 version ) you had no choice but to pre-order online.

So while we didn't get 100% shafted; we did get screwed over. And there's nowhere left to pre-order it to boot.

That's why I was in shock when you said you managed to grab one this late in the game. That's.. pretty damn lucky for you. haha

I decided to go with the collectors edition as well. I like to have the game physically, and that is the only reason to buy that version over the GOG version. Oh and on PC of course .

I have a specific question about the game. It seems that the Collector's Edition of The Witcher 3 is exclusively available on the German Amazon (as it says on the page itself, not available on the UK Amazon). So I'm from Europe and Amazon.de seems like my only option to purchase the Collector's Edition which I really would love to have. Now my question is, since I'm buying from a German website, will the game/artbook/map/everything come in German? If so, that would suck for me because I don't know German and I would much prefer to have the game and every bonus content in English...

The game isn't exclusive to Amazon.de, it's just that other places ran out of stock first, so you may want to continue checking around. The game itself will have multiple languages, not just German. It still isn't clear about the artbook.
