So because Walmart screwed up the preorder I made a year ago, I get nothing? That sucks...It's highly unlikely that there'll be another restock, all that you can really hope for is cancellations, but I think that's also probably too late now as most pre-orders will already have been paid for.
Yes, I agree. Walmart, and the other retailers that pulled this kind of trick, deserve all the criticism they get.So because Walmart screwed up the preorder I made a year ago, I get nothing? That sucks...![]()
Just to make this clear - CDPR does not handle the retail distribution outside Poland. The retailers order from the distributors, who are responsible for the process of retail sales. If Walmart, or any other retailer has insufficient stock, the usual reason is because they accepted more pre-orders than the stock they had contracted to buy, the same way as airlines sell more seat tickets than there are seats.Tons of people. I saw at least 10 on reddit yesterday. I have no idea what's going on with CDPR and Walmart on the matter. I didn't pre-order from them but I wish you all the best of luck. That really sucks. I saw people that pre-ordered 8 months ago get theirs cancelled somehow. Ridiculous.
Ah, true. So what typically happens in this situation? Is it possible for those that didn't get the CE due to ordering from Walmart could be guaranteed one later?Just to make this clear - CDPR does not handle the retail distribution outside Poland. You have to take it up with Walmart or find an alternative source. I'm sorry I can't give you better hope than that, I really am.Ah, true. So what typically happens in this situation? Is it possible for those that didn't get the CE due to ordering from Walmart could be guaranteed one later?

It's worth at least trying to contact Warner, the worst that can happen is that they say they can't help. And yes, it does look as though Walmart does this a lot.Ah, I wasn't sure who the physical publisher was. I know CDPR/Warner Bros. set the amount of CEs being made for each platform a loooong time ago so it seems highly likely that Walmart knew how many they'd receive from the get-go but continued taking orders anyway. I'm also aware that they've been doing this a lot (after this happened I did some research and it seems like it's occurred at walmart.com with virtually every major release in gaming over the past 2-3 years which is just absolutely despicable).
Do you think Warner Bros Interactive support would know and/or be able to tell me what retailers are receiving the PC CE? I'm hoping to find a retailer that didn't sell preorders (I know Target didn't)... I also REALLY don't want to settle for the PS4/Xbone version of the CE but if need be will buy a standard PC version and a PS4/Xbone CE I guess![]()
Yes, that's my plan! (to resell the console game and using the money to re-buy it on PC if I have to "settle" for a console version CE lol)It's worth at least trying to contact Warner, the worst that can happen is that they say they can't help. And yes, it does look as though Walmart does this a lot.
And if you buy the console version, you could always sell the game itself and keep the goodies, that would help cover the extra cost of having to buy a second copy to play.
